Great review of some exceptional watches. All my favorite brands. Baltany have the best crystals on a watch and I have really enjoyed seeing Militado grow in popularity and certainly for good reason. I was never interested much in Boderry but the field watch in this video looks fantastic.

I ordered the landmaster and it took two months to arrive. Same issues with the bracelet. All in all it’s a good watch for the money

So happy they have a date option for the Militado. Strong contender for a gift watch, I just wish more of these Ali models had a displayback option, for non-watch people they don't get it until they see the movement.
Someone should tell Baltany to make one of their chronographs in 42 mm, I’m gonna take a Hamilton homage in 42 mm aswell, Thanks!

Baltany is absolutely killing it with their new releases!
I first thought this pilot watch was their take on the Longines pilot watch from the Dunkirk movie but sadly it is not 😢
They are an acquired taste for some but I am in the "some" category and also appreciate them ☺️
That Landmaster looks really cool, and kind of scream John.
Boderry just need to step up their bracelet/strap game. They could drop the container package and put those extra monies on quality straps/bracelets instead.

I don’t even like Guinness, but what a beautiful dial colour! The Boderry at the end is a stoater, regardless of the NH35 - taste, cannibals, family, etc.

Thanks, John. I will look forward to your full review of the Boderry Landmaster. I was able to purchase one, and, indeed, the wait was worrisome. Also worrisome is that I am not convinced that the markers are true tritium, because unlike my other tritium watch, the markers do not luminesce independently. I believe that the tubes are filled with traditional luminous material that requires charging from a light source. I will be interested to see if your experience is the same or not. Nevertheless, it is still an excellent field watch.
Hi Daniel...as I said in the vid the tubes on the Boderry are filled with C1 lume and not Tritium. But they do seem to glow pretty well...but only the cupboard of doom can decide for sure haha. Thanks for watching buddy 🤗

Yeah that boderry I've had ordered for over a month now from boderry them selves but there been a hold up with the delivery and it has sat not moved for weeks. 😢 been onto boderry and now there's a move with the shipment but no correspondence from boderry which is disappointing. But I really want it and hope it arrives. Soon 😢
Interesting how black monochromatic BB homages are popping up all of a sudden! 😄 Resizing double-headed screw pins can be a real pain. In my experience is was easiest to use a small blunt pocket knife to fix one side of the screw while using a small screwdriver on the other side.
I just push uch one side of the bracelet into a soft desk mat and it's enough to stop the screw turning on one side :)
Saddened to see Baltany going basically straight homage again when there’s so many of that style already available. They seem to be losing their way in my humble opinion. Don’t get me wrong they have a lot of homage type watches but more unique less saturated model styles. And their military models are awesome. The first one here seems a proper cop out for me. I’m convinced that Militado IS Baltany as well. But cheaper materials & quality to reflect the pricing.
Pleased to see I’m not the only one who struggles with split pins! And you must do them way more regularly than me. Always frustrating when you end up with some collateral damage isn’t it mate. 😢

That Boderry was a bugger to be sure. Re the Baltany GMT I get what you're saying but reserve judgement until the full review. The dial, Lume and finishing justify it...it's far better than the normal homages....🤔
@@johnswatchjoint I can defo see it looks nicer, crystals as you say and that dial colour. It’s nicer but - and it’s probably just me - I’m worn down by the amount of those homages. And the snowflake hands just grate. I’m not the demographic 😂 I have the Baltany chrono military, Militado did a version too. And there’s a couple others I really want of theirs.
Looks like you may have gotten slightly better lume on your Militado ML06 than I got on mine--the Cupboard of Doom will have the final say there. Other than rather patchy lume (hour hand much stronger than minute and second, and 12-o-clock triangle and pip wanting) and a slightly fiddly crown, mine is a great watch for the money--very accurate, good looking and a fun piece...I'm happy with it for what I paid at WD.

That militado field watch is a curious looking piece, interested to see your thoughts on it. I haven't ever tried a Boderry but that box is so cool, a scaled down shipping container...random but love to see something different. The Baltany could be so nice with a color matched date wheel (black/ivory) on each colorway. Off white dials with appliance white date wheels hit my ocd big time 😂.... You're covering so many watches at the moment, amazing graft chief 😎🙌

Had the Militado in my basket on and off I like the Matt finish my collection could fit this in but price is so up and down anything between
£90 and £125 I’m just making space for it one thing is the bracelet is not good to fiddly they should offer on a mesh or nato I’m getting fed up of taking bracelets off and storing \selling them 👍
Loving the crystal on the Baltany retro gmt! Currently trying to decide between it and its San Martin counterpart. Any experience with the San Martin variant?
I've had a few San Martin and IXDAO versions to look at but this Baltany has something special. But it's all down to personal taste. There are some who just can't see anything better than SM but I'm not so sure. The crystal quality, the superior colours and texture on the dial and the handset on this watch is exceptional. But of course that is my perspective. Shiny Things has done his full review on it and I will do mine in a week or so 🤗

The militado is excellent except the clasp. Have you tried to replace the clasp with a different one? Or know one that will fit it?

If it is not delivered within the specified time you will be refunded. Postal services just suck!
Beware of ordering the Boderry Landmaster! I ordered mine, they accepted the order then after waiting for a month, they told me that it’s sold out!! It’s good that they refunded me the money but it’s so frustrating to be put on a limbo for not knowing if they’ll fill the order or not! This bad practices should stop!😤😡🤬
Unfortunately I have been told that there were unforseen production issues but orders were taken in all good faith.

It does on the bracelet as I have to wear it loose but on a leather it's ok. But if I only bought watches that fit me and my small wrist then I wouldn't have much of a channel would I? 😆

I bought the SM diver - I think it's 37 or 38mm at most; he Tudor homage with the grey bezel - a beautiful watch - for my tiny daughter and it looks amazing on her skinny wrist. But it's is an anomaly among watches nowadays. I even had to swap out the on-the-fly clasp on it for another SM watch that had their classic clasp that was shorter, just to make the bracelet a little shorter.
She loves it and wears it a lot and people compliment her on it. You don't see many young ladies wearing a diver like that. It's the SN0138.

@@johnswatchjoint In general, but in this video - the Militado. However there are far more expensive watches that use the "wrong" movement as well.
@ivan.rusanov I get what you mean but in the case of the Militado a couple of the watches in the range have a date so to make production smoother and to save on extra production lines they have opted for the NH35. As a former production manager, to me it makes sense :)
