I don't know why, but I just feel so happy for Bobby Allison getting this win. Maybe it's the randomness of the timing, maybe it's seeing a living legend get a deserved recognition while he's still alive, maybe it's the appreciation of NASCAR history. I don't know, but man, it just feels right seeing 85 next to Bobby's name on the all-time wins list. Congrats to him and his family
I heard stories about that race as recently as courtesy of The Daily Downforce. Glad to see they did that for him, I didn't think that would happen and it was the right call. Not very often I say that.
Honorable mention to your top 6 free agents, Brett Moffitt. He may not have been racing this year don’t forget he is the 2018 truck series champion, and he was pretty decent for a newly started AM racing team.
The NASCAR world as a whole may not have taken notice of Christopher Bell, but my 5-year-old son has taken notice of Christopher Bell. His cutoff wins at the Roval and Martinsville in 2022 had him jumping up and down, racing around our living space. When C-Bell won at Phoenix earlier this season, he proudly declared "Christopher Bell is my favorite driver!" The 3-year sample size really sticks out. To me it felt like he was level with his teammates, but he's pretty much been carrying the flag for JGR.
His family doesn't fund his career, he's been sponsored by investors and other business owners from his hometown so he doesn't have dependable long term funding.
Larson used to always say that bell was better than him. I don't think anyone has the raw pace of Larson, but Bell might be about as close as it gets, and he makes a lot fewer mistakes
Bell is getting overlooked, but not by me, he is my prediction to win the championship because of how scary good he was at phoenix earluer this year. (Hoping for logano tho, because im a fan and i live for chaos in NASCAR)
Petition for you to include Bell spilling a secret meme as the defending race winner in your race recap? Also an early title suggestion: 2024 TrAsH tAlK 400 @ Harvick's Miami Speedway.
Correction about the Bobby Allison race: it was the second without a winner on record. The first was removed from the record books after Lee Petty exited his car to red flag the race for poor visibility
Allison and Waltrip no longer being tied threatens to tear the very fabric of space-time. NASCAR better act quickly and award Waltrip the 1990 win at Wilkesboro so balance is restored.
LaJoie brings sponsors to the table, Matt DiBenedetto not so much. He was fun for quite some time, but after a while, ya gotta get it done! Rick Ware doesn't run a charity. Even JJ Yeley brings money when he runs the car. If the car isn't rented, then Rick's marketing partners, which cross over from his other racing venues, get a ride with his son at the wheel.
I think the reason Bell is always overlooked is largely because of his Kenneth like consistency, he’s always in the top 10 or top 5 almost every week, the fans have gotten used to the 20 just always lurking around, so we don’t really notice when he’s there. Additionally, when Bell wins it’s either in unremarkable fashion, or it gets overshadowed (See his 2022 Martinsville win as proof). He’s a good driver with the appearance of a mid packer, he doesn’t have the wins of Larson, the popularity of Elliott, the bite of Hamlin, the unique background of SVG or Suarez, or the raw guts of Chastain. Is that bad? Not at all. But it’s not going to make you seen.
I love the fact that the media over looks Christopher Bell! They put more pressure on you than you already have to begin with, and them not always being around him, makes it easier for him
I think you and a lot of other people are sleeping on Brett Moffitt, maybe not for a cup ride, but for Trucks and Xfinity he is the guy I would want behind my car
C Bell is underrated, but he's not flying under the radar. He and his team haven't executed during some races he was in contention for, so he doesn't have the wins that Larson does. Therefore, he doesn't get the same attention.
He’s too 5 for sure. but of the 5, 11, 20, and 24 I think you could pick any three of them to be top 3 and I’d feel like the fourth was being undeservedly left out.
Bell is legit and looks like he could be a mainstay in the championship hunt for a long time. He still makes mistakes, which he admits, but he keeps getting better. Larson talked about Bell being a quiet guy, and I think that is reflected in his on-track performance. He avoids drama, avoids trouble for the most part, and just quietly gets the job done. The free agent list is a good one. Lajoie has had a good run in the 51 so far. He has finished ahead of the 7 twice so far and his average finish is just behind Haley so far since the swap, thanks to the engine issue. So far, it's not a step back in performance for the 51 or in comparison to the 7. We've seen enough examples that RWR has stepped up this year. I give credit to Haley for driving the 51 to some very good finishes when no one expected it, and he's earned more opportunities, but it looks like it wasn't just on Haley, but the RWR organization making strides. I also agree with the assessment of Zane Smith. I think he has some real talent, at least enough to be in the Xfinity series, but I think he deserved a shot in Cup, and now I think he deserves to stay in Cup. Skipping Xfinity might have hurt him a bit. His season was rough, but he really seems to have acclimated since the return from the Olympic break. Perhaps the time off helped with that adaptation. He has legitimately run well since then, and with a lot of consistency. It reminds me of Noah Gragson. Before his issues that ended his 2023 season early, he just looked very tired and defeated. He got his second chance despite his poor first season, and he was a totally different driver upon his return with no reason to expect such improvement, especially since SHR was a weaker organization by that point. I hope to see Zane back in a Cup car, or at least in a good Xfinity car considering the lack of options.
I'm, half bell's age, and I root for him, but ive never looked at his stats and I'll continue to root for him(always root for the underdogs) I'm definitely not a Larson fan, but I have better respect for him after what he said about bell, I don't know why Bell gets so much backlash, he's a great driver, better than his legendary teammates(as mentioned in this video) I wish folks would stop hating' on him, he's proving that he belongs in this series(and ive never seen him that fired up as he was in his post-race interview on Sunday)
I'm afraid too many people take Bell's meekness as his weakness, definitely not so. He will be most favorite driver here before to long. He is a great driver with great personality. Maybe because he is from Oklahoma. LOL
@NCS2024-VV Bell is not like because he drives for Joe Gibbs racing, he’s got the same attitude as Denny Hamlin same attitude as Ty Gibbs. Christopher Bell has changed so much. He was cool attitude down to earth real guy when he raced dirt cars sprint cars. He acts like Denny Hamlin Fans don’t like that attitude.
I don't know for sure, but I have a theory on why Bell is so overlooked. He's not a loudmouth, controversial driver. If he screws up he owns it and isn't always blaming someone else. He has no on track rivalries and he doesn't stir the pot. He handles his business quietly and on the track, not on social media. I respect him for that. You sited some great examples on that piece. Great work!
i think the reason bell is over looked is just because hes always around the front so much and so consistent that its like we just get blind to him hes right in our face but hes always there so like the ticking of a clock we tune him out
Bell is far from a fluke. I thought the first season was unexpected. He has followed it up with consistency. He is quiet for a typical JGR driver. Hamlin, Bush, Stewart, Truex, and Ty Gibbs now that is a list of drivers that don't do many things under the Radar.
FA sorted by prospects. Meanwhile veterans like Ryan Truex, Brett Moffit, and Matt Dibenedetto win races, outperform their equipment, and have a body of work showing they can compete with good equipment. And I like Chandler, Corey, and Zane. But Herbst can bring sponsors so...
I believe Bell is not talked about as much as he should be because he is teammates with Hamlin. Hamlin also seems to do something between on track, social media, his podcast, in interviews or with his team (23XI) to be constantly talked about unlike Bell who mainly you only hear from before or after races and during interviews every so often.
Yeah, Hamlin is just a media whore. He loves his drama because he can't do anything else. Let's see how Denny's popularity goes when 23XI loses their charters, pisses MJ off and they loose their ass due to his big mouth ideas.
You have two Corey's on the list and one of them is named Heim, pronounced the same as Haim. It's like the 80s all over again. 😂 I said that I wouldn't pick on Lajoie anymore so I won't say that Feldman is probably a better driver. I won't say that at all. 😏
Bell doesn't routinely offer controversial sound bites and does not rough up the competition on the track. Good on him!! Next year, after Truex retires, he will be the only JGR driver in the lineup with a Championship!!
Your mini show is by far way better than what's on tv. I 💯 agree with you on Zane Smith. His second half of the season hasnt been talked about that much due to the fact his first half of the sean wasn't that great at all. But what he's been able to do in the 71 car, which is a first year team, is pretty phenomenal.
I think CBell is under the radar or not talked about as much by the media because he is less outspoken than others. He puts together super solid seasons and is consistent throughout. Not a huge Toyota guy, but I like CBell.
As a Kyle Busch fan I've never overlooked Christopher Bell I know he's been good for a long time and I like him a lot I just root against him cause I hold a petty grudge against Adam Stevens
I wonder if Nascar will grant Wendell Scott with the rookie of the year award from 1961. He lost the rookie of the year battle to a driver named Woddy Wilson who had worse stats then Wendell Scott that year. I know it is over a century but if Nascar finally recognizes Allison's Bowman Grey win, then Nascar should reward Wendell Scott with the rookie of the year award of 1961.
Really wouldn't matter, Bobby Allison is still alive, at least Wendell got credit for winning that race after the fact while he was still alive, he's a legend but I think it wouldn't be a great idea since he isn't here anymore to enjoy getting the rookie of the year.
Bell being under rated, just means he doesn't get enough coverage by the broad cast team and even off the track. If your not Larson, Hamlin, Byron, Blaney, Logano, heck even McDowell & Lajoy get more coverage than Bell does for what ever reason. No doubt C.Bell is good. Just hasn't had his share of the Lime Light this season...😊
@EricEstepp I think why Bell doesn't get the attention he should is because he looks like he's Ty Gibbs age even tho he's a proven veteran in CUP also not that he doesn't have a personality like how you said I just think it's a mix of how you pointedout his teammates but I think he needs to have a signature moment he's had plenty of convincing wins old heads like my dad gravitate towards him because he's a straight up driver he just needs that moment I think it comes ala Daniel Hemric style he has to get that Championship
Zane Smith has had an amazing turnaround from the start of the season. Should definitely be signed to a competitive cup team for 2025, maybe FRM if possible.
Seems like a whole bunch of “under the radar” talk about a guy that’s supposedly under the radar and that nobody has been talking about lol I think it’s more like Larson said and he is just a super smooth driver that stays out of the drama and with so much other drama going on around the sport just being super good week in, week out isn’t enough to be a top story each week. Larson is a top story each week bc everyone is wondering if he’s either going to completely dominate the next race, or if he’s going to wreck out and dnf after being super dominant up to the point he wrecks out.
I think chandler smith will be cup ready when denny retires and heim will be with 23xi if riley gets a one year deal cause lets be honest only reason riley is considered a top prospect is cause of money
So now we got Joey Logano AND Bobby Allison in the championship 4 😭
Haha
Jeff Gordon as the 5th driver too???
At least Bobby earned his win 😅
Bobby Allison would be a more deserving driver for this year’s championship than Joey Logano. 😂
Imagine if Denny Hamlin ends up winning the championship later in his career too just like Bobby Allison.
Cool can we also give Regan Smith his Talladega win back?
I wish I could heart this comment

Really wouldn't matter, Bobby Allison is still alive, at least Wendell got credit for winning that race after the fact while he was still alive, he's a legend but I think it wouldn't be a great idea since he isn't here anymore to enjoy getting the rookie of the year.
That Robert Allison kid sounds like a dark horse for the free agent list.
Zane Smith to FRM
Corey Heim stays in trucks
Chandler Smith to AM racing??
Ryan Preece to RFK
Corey Lajoie stays with RWR
Riley Herbst to TRICON 17
Glad someone in the media giving Zane his due.
That boss 302 was eatin !
Radar caught Kenseth when he crashed in Logano at Martinsville 2015.
Seriously? 😮This Bobby Alison win is a big deal. 85 wins is insane.
*C Bell will win a championship, and he’s so mad after last week. He might go off
1:27 that was a good one 😅
Congratulations Bobby Allison! 🏆👍👏
I agree with your top four. Five is Brett Moffit. Six is Riley Herbst. Seven is Corey Lajoie.
Corey Lajoie does not deserve top 20 of anything except most wrecks.
In the Netflix show he says he wasn’t mentioned when Netflix asked who would likely be in the Championship 4. 🤔
Zane Smith has had an amazing turnaround from the start of the season. Should definitely be signed to a competitive cup team for 2025, maybe FRM if possible.
That's awesome! I guess the only question now is - what about Darrell Waltrip's missing North Wilkesboro victory from 1990?
We got a Bobby Allison win before a Kyle Busch win in 2024
Bobby allison is back in the 2024 Nascar cup series playoffs
People use to overlook willy b
Glad to see that Bobby Allison finally got it
Post race inspection getting outta hand
Soooo when is NASCAR going to void Petty's 198th win??
Eric Estepp and everyone who's your pick to win at homestead this weekend?
Always CBell, Marcus!
@@nigel0 I know
@@marcusvillarreal this is his year!
@@nigel0 I hope you're right
Oh yeah this is certainly gonna be on one of those weird nascar trivia
Seems like a whole bunch of “under the radar” talk about a guy that’s supposedly under the radar and that nobody has been talking about lol I think it’s more like Larson said and he is just a super smooth driver that stays out of the drama and with so much other drama going on around the sport just being super good week in, week out isn’t enough to be a top story each week. Larson is a top story each week bc everyone is wondering if he’s either going to completely dominate the next race, or if he’s going to wreck out and dnf after being super dominant up to the point he wrecks out.
So basically Bobby won in what would be considered an Xfinity car for that time…..but then the late 60s to early 70s was the wild west era of Nascar
Eric what’s the latest about a 3rd RFK charter? It was the talk a month or so back.
I think chandler smith will be cup ready when denny retires and heim will be with 23xi if riley gets a one year deal cause lets be honest only reason riley is considered a top prospect is cause of money
CBell is the man hrs my #1 driver my #2 driver is #24 William Byron
Bobby Allison is champ 4 eligible before gta6
So if eligible for the playoffs, Bobby is a shoe in for the championship over today’s drivers.😂
What about Ty Majeski? Is he still under contract with ThorSport? I'm surprised there's no rumors of him to a Cup or top Xfinity ride
Denny needs to save Corey Heim
We got bobby Allison winning a race before kyle busch in 2024,😭
I’m a big Corey Heim fan too !
