Great vid, very clever approach, let the guitar do the talking , great playing and lots of comparison scope and you didn't say , "hey what's up" like every other fool. Absolute winner. The Vox tone and character in the high end distortion of your leads stands right out. Beautiful.
Cry baby and Ibanez Vh10 my favourite! The first one if you love the classic "sweet" wah tone , the second one if you need a more "sparkle" , "versatile" tone , fantastic with distortion!
Why is no one here talking about the Ibanez WH10?? Thing sounds awesome! Fantastic range and smooth tone sweep, not too noisy as to take away from the True Tone of the guitar
For a moment, I was wondering why there was this guy wearing a blue hat popping up from behind the amp head. He has impeccable timing - considering he doesn't know how the player is going to accentuate each passage 😅
Likely the Xotic...not to mention the size is ideal and can be heavily tweaked. Then again like most things in the pedal world, much depends on your gear etc. Great demo - thanks.👍 🎸😎
Dunlop and Vox for traditional sound at one end of the spectrum, xotic for unconventional wah clarity at the other end. All 3 were standouts, IMO. My best guess is that the intro "theme" was a Dunlop.
The Morley seems to be incredibly responsive across the sweep range. The Dunlop is also very consistent and pleasing in each setting. I am a budda bud-wah player for 12+ years and just got the John petrucci wah which I also love. So many great tones from which to choose with wahs and every other kind of pedal!
I have the Morley Bad Horsey 2 and it is very responsive but somehow it never sounds just right. Also you can't set it to a fixed position, which you may see as a positive or negative.
I had a Budda Bud-Wah pedal years ago, and it the only one I ever had. As I've gotten back into electric guitar again, I'm looking at wah pedals (clearly), and seeing your comment, I've been hearing people mentioning the JP wah. As an owner of both the Budda and JP, can you let me know how they compare?
I went Xotic xw-1 and have a VOX845 and not that it matters yet John Mayer made the switch in 2019 for the XW1. I wanted it because it has true bypass and no tone suck with buffering for fuzz. So worked for me in my needs. I did like how the ibanez W10 sounded overall.
why does “so and so uses it!” matter for any effect? what matters is do YOU like it. if it doesn’t produce a sound that works with the way you play, i don’t care if Jesus himself used the dang thing. hero worship is so weird🤨
Very interesting. It seems the differences become most apparent with heavy distortion. I thought the Dunlop, Ibanez and Fulltone had the most pronounced effect there
I have an early Fulltone Clyde from 1998 and I love it. To me, the Clyde Deluxe here also sounds the best and the most vocal out of these. It stands slightly apart from the rest. I also have a Jeffery Teese RMC 1 wah from the late 90’s I like. There is a knack to using a wah correctly & musically yes.
Strange, how Xotic, Ibanez are distorting sound a little bit more than others. Could be useful sometimes. Cry Baby is my favorite. Once I had Morley Bad Horsie and it was very difficult to use it - it needs precise control and still sounds strange. I don't recommend it
Love my 2009 Fulltone Clyde Deluxe. Nice comparison. I did not care for: the Morley (seemed too introduce some faint-white noise) or the Ibanez (non vocal sounding in the heel-down position)
I like the Morley electro-optical approach (I HATE scratchy pots), but I prefer that vintage Dunlop/Vox tone. Something like a Dunlop/Vox-style wah pedal with an electro-optical (no pot!) approach could be a SERIOUS game-changer!
Super demo. Excellent comparisons. Only one question : what do you think about the Weeping Demon Wha Wha from Ibanez ? Did you do a video about this particular wha wha pedal ? (Maybe I didn't see it) Many thanks in advance ☺ Kind regards, Phil from Dunkirk
I think the Xotic stood out, and would have expected more from the Fulltone, but it has a lot of possibilities to try out. I have a RMC, Xotic Yellow, Dunlop standard a CEA, but haven´t pulled myself together to test them against each other. The Dunlop is under modding and will have a true bypass switch. To me it will be important how my wah works together with a Fuzz.
The Morley Bad Horse has the same problem than their volume pedals. It's sweeping is abrupt. The worst of all the pedals here. The funny thing is it could be the best one, because do not use a pot but light.
for guitar exotic and ibanes ,,i prefer old grey iban ,, but this got a nice ,,turn ,, on tone too ,, just a bit high output but better that than low as on morly ,, exotic suprised me with great sound range of tone ,,turn ,, only way i can call how wah /wah goes some just wa,, other waugh ,, u get it ,, full turn is rare i had modified ibanes 10 /grey in 80 s more pot travel and adjusted position on pot where is start ,, and i got allmost waugh // vs dunlop cry baby i got later that is no wah it goes w,,semi a and u are maxes out with pedal// SHAME IBANES WAS BUILT SO 1 CABLE AND IDIOT GUITARIST IN BOOTS AND END OF TOP PLATE ,, I MEND IT WITH 2 ,,L,, SHAPE ALU PROFILES BUT ,, IBANEZ IN A DUNLOP BOX ID PAY 300 ALL DAY LONG

2:20 I thought somebody from muppet show is hiding behind the red amp! :))

I was so high that I saw a puppet coming from the upper right
I thought I was the only one
Cry baby and Ibanez Vh10 my favourite! The first one if you love the classic "sweet" wah tone , the second one if you need a more "sparkle" , "versatile" tone , fantastic with distortion!
Why is no one here talking about the Ibanez WH10?? Thing sounds awesome! Fantastic range and smooth tone sweep, not too noisy as to take away from the True Tone of the guitar
Exactly, but I guess we all have different preferences.
It is the best wah ever I have one from the 80s and it’s my favorite pedal
Ibanez pedals in general have always been underrated
@@Qliphirot There's this green tube one they made. Really good, but the name escapes me.
@@MC-hx6nk Tube screamer. TS808 and TS9 are downright Iconic overdrive pedals
Best wah demo I've seen
For a moment, I was wondering why there was this guy wearing a blue hat popping up from behind the amp head. He has impeccable timing - considering he doesn't know how the player is going to accentuate each passage 😅
Yes!!!!..me too!..thought the same thing..lmao😅
This cracked me up hahaha
Likely the Xotic...not to mention the size is ideal and can be heavily tweaked.
Then again like most things in the pedal world, much depends on your gear etc.
Great demo - thanks.👍 🎸😎
Xotic XW-1 the cleanest and most comfortable sized wah, perfect
Dunlop and Vox for traditional sound at one end of the spectrum, xotic for unconventional wah clarity at the other end. All 3 were standouts, IMO. My best guess is that the intro "theme" was a Dunlop.
Quality Demo as always

Cry Baby just sounds right to me, like a wah is supposed to sound.
Awesome video. No chat just great content. Thank you my musical brother. Peace, love and respect✌❤🙏
*GETTIN FUNKY*. NIce strat and playing.
😎👍🏼
Dunlop is consistently good; Xotic is a contender; I have the Fulltone, but may swap after hearing this.
Dunlop Crybaby for me: always has been! Consistently good if maintained/kept clean...
they break, though. I’ve had so many break, sometimes right out of the box
Ibanez WH10. Why? Because that's what John Frusciante uses.
LMAO FACTS thats exactly my thought process
why does “so and so uses it!” matter for any effect? what matters is do YOU like it. if it doesn’t produce a sound that works with the way you play, i don’t care if Jesus himself used the dang thing.
hero worship is so weird🤨
Best comment
exactly no doubts
@@mkv2718 Jesus himself did use the WH10 though! ;)

After watching this review I place a order the Dunlop Cry Baby yeah
Awesome demo, wow the bad horsie is noisy.
Thank you for this meaningful comparison ! I stick with the cry baby, the others are tamed like for a promotional video transition you know ^^

Yes. Morley and Ibanez were lacking
@@WhiteWizzard I also like the Dunlop MC404 CAE Wah Pedal, Budda BudWah, and the Teese RMC-10 - also great Wah Pedals
God job bro thanks
So basically they all sound so similar, in a band context it makes no difference at all. I'll have the cheapest please.
Nah WH10
That was a nice one! I could gig with either of them but I would choose recording clean sounds with the Xotic and leads with the dunlop.
It is a very well done test 🙂
I like the Morley electro-optical approach (I HATE scratchy pots), but I prefer that vintage Dunlop/Vox tone.
Something like a Dunlop/Vox-style wah pedal with an electro-optical (no pot!) approach could be a SERIOUS game-changer!
They all sounds kind of the same to me!! Thats crazy but thats make a totally sence because they all are a WAH pedals :D
Morley and Ibanez for distortion and Xotic for clean :)
So go with the rack mount.... GOT IT.
Super demo. Excellent comparisons.
Only one question : what do you think about the Weeping Demon Wha Wha from Ibanez ?
Did you do a video about this particular wha wha pedal ? (Maybe I didn't see it)

Thanks.
Xotic and Dunlop sound the most expressive in my opinion. Fullton is also good.
I think the Xotic stood out, and would have expected more from the Fulltone, but it has a lot of possibilities to try out. I have a RMC, Xotic Yellow, Dunlop standard a CEA, but haven´t pulled

Nice studio!
Which ones most comfortable to use while sitting down?
I have Dunlop and Vox wah and all of pedals in the review sound great. Vox is most familiar with my feet.
Not a looker but I like the Ibanez best.
I have the GCB but I like the Xotic more I have to admit. It has a much clearer sound. The gcb tends to peak out at high frequencies.
Exotic wins every time.
Didn't know there was so many wah peddles
Voc has more organic spots then others
Bad Horsie does it for me
Fulltone all the way.
It's nice that everyone has their own take on it, but everything else sounds like a bad clone of the Dunlop to me.
Actually the 1st wah ever was a Vox!
@@lucasmuraro9985 Oh. Well they should have built a timemachine and cloned the Dunlop.
so lost among these pedals. however the classic cry baby feels like best.
Para mí el Clyde es el mejor de todos pero el Bad horsie puede ser para otros estilos.
Vox
The wha pedal is something of the past. Rip wha wha
Cry baby Dunlop e o xotic

They all sound the same.
Dunlop is cheap horseshit.
Why does it sound better than all of the others then???
Sounds like someone needs a hug.
Bro what lol .. The Dunlop is the industry standard 😂
all sound the same. just buy the cheapest
IMHO, Dunlop wins.
