My first wah was a 90’s Bad Horsie 2. Got it new as a Christmas present from my dad when I was a kid. I played the crap out of that thing. Ended up trading it for a MIM Tele in the late 90’s. Man I miss the hell out of that Wah too. Seeing yours brought back a ton of memories and nostalgia.
Thanks for watching & commenting! I'm glad the video brought back some good memories. Luckily the new ones still sound great. Do you still have the Tele?
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this. On the one hand, I think it's super cool that the technology has advanced to the point where it can be shrunk down to this new size. On the other hand, though, I've been using an older style Bad Horsie 2 for over 20 years now and it's still one of my favorite pedals. I'm so familiar with its operation and feel that I don't think I'd want a smaller one.
I was in the same mindset as you are about ordering the new smaller one. Obviously, the new 20/20 Bad Horsie is nowhere near as small as my click-baity thumbnail makes it look, lol! You can see the real size in the video, and honestly, I got used to it really quickly. It's just enough smaller than my original to give me the extra space I needed on my pedal board. I'm going to do another video about how they sound compared to each other. Thanks for watching & commenting!
That's the main reason I use the Bad Horsie, is the switch. With the Dunlops you mash the switch & hope it comes on. Can't tell for sure 'cuz there is no LED. And if it does come on your tone is at the bright end of the sweep & I prefer it to be at the dark end of the sweep. I really like curve & tone on my Cry Baby, but it only gets used in the studio due to those limitations. I'm probably being a little OCD about it all, honestly, lol! Thanks for watching & commenting!
I freaking love the form factor personally. I don't use Wahs much but i have always favored smaller wahs as i think they're easier for me to control but at some point they're harder when they get too small. The 2020 is a perfect size for my preferences. I like that the base is wider than most mini wahs. Seems to make it easier to control.
The 20/20 Morley Wah is not to small for your boots😂👍 this is the real test. My Bad Horsie from 1996 has a problem with the batteri circuit...I never give it away...and my new 20/20 bad horsie arrieved and I love it for ever too...keep on cool guitar sounds🙏
lol I know, right? I was afraid it might be too small when I ordered it, but it's just fine, as you saw in the video. My original Bad Horsie has a ground issue now, I think. I'll check it out soon. Congrats on the new 20/20, and thank you for watching & commenting!
I’d love to see the full range of the contour wah. Nobody ever really plays around with it in the darker settings, and I like my wahs with a lot of bottom end. I’ve been wondering if the darker setting will make it fatter sounding or just dark. If you have time to put together the video on the Bad Horsie, that’d be awesome.
Thank you for watching & for your genuinely thoughtful comment! You know, I think I will do a video comparing the 2 wah pedals, that's a great idea. Stay tuned!
Great no-nonsense video... much appreciated! I've been through 3 of the Dunlop-style wah's (including a BBE Ben-Wah) and decided to pull the trigger on this Morley wah. I'm done with mashing the switch at the top, wondering if it's actually on, and having them eventually fail. This wah seems like it ticks all the boxes for me and it sounds great!
Hey man! Thanks for watching & for the comment (again!), that really helps the algorithm. ;-) Yeah, they moved to Carpentersville, so still in our general region. Speaking of regions, my new bassist is from your neck of the woods (lives way west in N. Il now), and hopefully we'll be picking up an opening slot at The Vixen later this year.
Hey Laura! Yeah, it did, but it was under the bubble wrap in the outer box & I didn't take it out until later. Gave it to my wife & son! :-D Thanks for watching & commenting! I'll see you at the Mill!
@@ClarkColborn Awesome man keep shredding!! I’ve been playing around with my Ibanez HSH Floyd China clone. Hitting those dime harmonics. I’d love to hear the distortion roar!! 🤟🔥🔥
Thanks for watching & for your comment! I think Morley still makes an original sized one, but if I am remembering accurately, they discontinued the original, non-contour version & now the wah that was the "Bad Horsie 2," with the contour control, is called the "Classic Bad Horsie." I think... 😃

@ClarkColborn I look forward to the updated video :)
I always wondered why Dunlop didnt make more switchless wahs... That damn switch is hard to smash sometimes

Thanks for watching, I agree... the switchless wah is the way to go!
Brilliant review. Hello from London.
Thank you, sincerely. I really appreciate the view & comment. I love London, by the way! Spent many hours on Denmark Street. Hope to get back soon!
@@ClarkColborn Aw, great place :)
They (Morley) used to be over in Cary. Great review!

Do another I wanna use this on bass 😎👍
Oh yeah! I think this would sound great on bass! I'll see if we can make that happen. :-)
