A game with only using a horse as a mechanic for traversal doesn't constitute "innovation" in my book
@@questionablezoomer764 I'm literally 36 years old but ok. Zelda is trash, repetitive puzzles, gameplay that is so easy it is obviously for children, no voice acting just all mumbling. Ocarina Of Time and Link To The Past are still the best Zelda games. Elden Ring did a lot better actually. It made the souls-like genre a lot more accessible to people who never played them. It had an insane amount of content + it's DLC also has an insane amount of content. It introduced a lot of quality of life features the souls games lacked. It has some of the most compelling lore\bosses in history. It has a lot more weapon variety than other games within it's genre, and the dlc produces even more of that.
I don't want to give anyone ideas, but... I'm curious to know how this guy would react if someone just commented "Legend of Zelda is kind of meh, you know? I played it, but it didn't keep me hooked."

Exactly ones a challenge open world _souls like_ and the other is a open world _fantasy game_ at least that’s the best way I can describe it but they are very different other than the open worlds
One utilizes it’s world vastly better and more effective than the other and benefits more from being an open world and was intentionally meant to be a sequel to the previous game in the series which was also open world. Elden Ring is not that game and it arguably didn’t even benefit at all for having an open world when everything it has to offer already was in previous games but they decided to ruin that design philosophy by just throwing Dark Souls 4 into an open world and hoping it would work as a new IP, which it didn’t. Bloodborne and Sekiro should be enough evidence that FromSoft are capable of making unique IP’s that is not Dark Souls, but they jumped the shark with Elden Ring unfortunately
@@questionablezoomer764 yeah they were doing something that both Bloodborne and sekiro did, experimenting which is very valuable to companies and yes I do agree it did not work as well as it did with the other two but from has shown they learned by saying that the dlc will have way more legacy dungeons although they will still have the open world as completely removing it will make the dlc seem strange and out of place but I’m sure the next game will most likely not have an open world and I also completely understand why people dislike the open world even though I feel it wasn’t too bad and I also understand the other reasons why people dislike the game even though it is one of my personal favorites so yeah if you don’t want to play the dlc I understand but personally I’m absolutely playing it
I think this guy is just purely trolling. He made a video about Doom Eternal being bad even though he only played half an hour of it. He also claimed to have a 600 dollar "high end PC". Bruh 600 bucks in the 2020s is a mid range graphics card's price alone.
I grew up playing and loving Zelda, but I didn’t even finish TOTK. I was extremely excited for it too, but it just got boring for me after the initial hype wore out. Elden Ring on the other hand, I’ve completed like 5 times putting like 600 hours into it. I’m currently playing it now getting ready for the Shadow of the Erdtree. ER is so damn fun, definitely in my top 10 favorite games.
2:26 I mean he got me there. I did indeed buy the game because of the hype and I'm not ashamed to say it kicked my teeth in big time. I was completely out of familiar waters with it and I quit after a month because I actually couldn't find the way forward. I started the game back up halve a year later, now with an understanding what soulsborn games are and how to approach them. having a blast in the game ever since
Yeah it was the opposite for me as well. I played BOTW not long before TOTK and despite this I really really liked the first 10 hours of TOTK but the more I progressed the less motivated I got to continue because once the magic of novelty about the new mechanics slowly diminished I started to accept that not much changed after 6 years. It was made worse by the 70 euro/dollar price tag. Games with insanely higher production value like Cyberpunk, Elden Ring and Hogwart's Legacy went for 60
@@valentinvas6454 imo Botw and Totk we're only made for 10-20 hours of gameplay but Nintendo has a more=better mentality so they padded out the world to get 100+ hours of content

Elden ring is the reason I play souls games now. I beat Elden ring 2 times in a row put 400 hours in it then bought Bloodbourne, DS3, DS1, Sekiro, and demon souls remake and literally beat them consecutively. Sh8t was that good. Now I enjoyed Totk but Elden ring triggered something in me.
Fantastic journey. I will say as a huge Dark Souls fan, you should play DS2. There are a lot of DS2 superfans who will tell you it's actually the best one -- and some that are willing to outright lie about the series to bolster their point -- but even though it is the weakest in the series, it's still a fantastic game in its own right. It does have a unique atmosphere and definitely does some things better than the other DS games; obviously there's something about it that makes some people go nuts over it. If you could handle the slower gameplay of Dark Souls 1, you should be fine with the clunkiness of 2.

Totk is a money grab that Nintendo losers like him fall for. The entire sky and depths are rendered obsolete when you realize they heir only existence is to house amiibo items.
Indies are definitely not out-doing FromSoft at their own game. Most of the popular Soulslikes from the last ten years are still making the mistake of only focusing on the combat and the boss fights and thinking that’s all it takes to make a “Dark Souls-like experience”. He brought up the two great examples that I agree with: Salt & Sanctuary and Hollow Knight. Those are the two games that felt like playing the Souls series for the first time - even in the case of Hollow Knight, which wasn’t trying to be a Soulslike and was actually the game I played _prior_ to get into Dark Souls - and that’s because of their world and level designs. Exploring their worlds actually had that Dark Souls style of novelty, where every single area felt distinct and hand-crafted, where every individual enemy encounter was unique and weren’t just copy-pasted around the place. They felt like real places with stories to tell, and I’m confident I could map out every square inch and how they all connect to one another in my mind. So many other games do not invoke that sense of wonder to me. No matter how many gameplay videos I see of it, and no matter how much people praise it, I never find myself drawn to play Blasphemous due to how basic and empty its environments feel. It’s just flat platforms with the same enemies walking back and forth mindlessly and a backdrop that’s sometimes just a black void. It took one, 20-30 minute video each to convince me to buy HK and S&S, and so far, apart from Death’s Gambit, I’ve yet to see another game in the genre stand out and seem worth my time. I’m currently waiting on the next game that feels like it puts the emphasis on the _world_ and not just the things you fight in it, which at this point will probably end up being Silksong.
I'll say it over and over again, my only grip with Elden Ring is the repetitive feel of non legacy dungeons, ruins, and areas. I would love to see actual different structures instead of the same structure just slightly different. Everything else is phenomenal.
ER is actually far closer to Zelda 1 and 2 in 3D than modern Zelda. Dungeons have an actual difficulty curve but can be done out of order if you know what you're doing (BotW and TotK have a flat or even reverse curve). Dungeons with hidden entrances and gated by harder enemies in the over-world (like how the Lionels functioned in Zelda 1). More about combat, exploration, and secrets than puzzle solving. Massive, intricate dungeons with great level design and difficult combat encounters (dungeons like Stormveil Castle, Leyndel and Farum Azula crush modern Zelda dungeons). Collecting pieces of the shattered Elden Ring instead of the shattered Triforce. Health and potions are actually limited (you can't store 60 full heals). ER also has more than 3 weapon move-sets (still disappointed TotK didn't add more). ER is the Zelda game I've wanted since playing the first ones on the NES all those years ago.
This is the problem with modern day. This guy just a few decades ago would have opened his mouth with this kind of confidence and if he was smart he'd never do it again.
Elden ring may have it's issues but if we actually compare elden ring and totk side by side nearly everything totk does is surpassed by elden ring such as combat(ignoring the difficulty souls combat is still more in depth than the spam simulator that totk is), side quests(most side quests in totk are fetch quests and none of the characters you meet ever matter as they all lack depth of any kind), story(The story is absolutely pathetic in the latest Zelda game), content variety(while elden ring has a lot of copy and pasting going on it doesn't even compare to the level of copy and pasting totk does), enemy variety(Totk somehow has less enemy variety than games that came out 20 years ago), dungeons(somehow a game that isn't Zelda has better dungeons than the latest two Zelda's), and armor and weapon variety(somehow totk barely added any new armor and the weapons still only have 3 movesets). Aside from that totk also has an issue with freedom that elden ring doesn't have and that's that totks world is always at level 1 and never moves past that, this is because the entire world is designed around everything being your first and thus everything is the same and the same level of simplicity, elden ring has a different issue in that it's unbalanced as shit but that's still better than what totk does.
I cleared all the sacred beasts and stopped playing botw before ganandorf. Had the master sword and hyrulean shield etc but it just wasn’t enough to keep me. ER on the other hand has compelled me to enjoy all 5 endings across multiple characters, NG+ and over 500+ hours of playtime. Not to mention it got me into sekiro and blood borne and who knows how many lore videos in YT. It’s like comparing a kid playing army to a navy seal lol.
I think it's gonna be really funny when the DLC drops and everyone realises "Oh yeah, tears of the kingdom could have def just been a really good dlc" But no, Nintendo charged $10 more than the base game for the exact same game
It would be nice if TotK had a master mode so I could actually have a challenge. Elden Ring was my first souls game and I like it more than TotK. It’s not even close. That whole underground in TotK was practically empty compared to Elden Ring’s underground.
Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are some of the worst games I’ve ever played. The graphics are absolutely atrocious as well. I literally had to stop playing because the graphics gave me a migraine. Also FromSoft doesn’t make games to be popular games, they make games to be amazing, god-tier quality games
I can't believe this basement dweller tried to not only take a stab at ER but also Witcher 3. Funny because witcher 3 got game of the year and so did its DLC, and i almost GUARANTEE that ER DLC will to
That guy looks like if Tucker Carlson had a baby with Sloth from Goonies. Damn, the amount of saliva he needs to drink every time he speaks for longer than a minute…😂
Judging from his Ghost of Tsushima gameplay ON EASY MODE and him dying every 10 seconds is full proof this dude has NEVER “played through” Dark Souls. 😂
Bros identity is attached to this. I played ds3 when it came out and sucked at it so I quit. I didn’t understand the hype and bought elden. Played it with my friends a lil and then got sucked in enough to platinum the game, buy it a second time on pc to get to endgame, helper my friend beat the last boss and then go back and beat DS3. Just got another crabs treasure and love it. Elden made me a soulsborne fan. In comparison and this isn’t me saying the game is bad but I seriously bought the switch the year it came out just to play BOTW and I quit after like maybe 10 hours in. It’s not for me and I think what’s funny is that the dude acts like there are actual people talking about the older Zelda games now. There is no resurgence, if u only talk to other Nintendo fans you’ll probably hear them mentioned. In comparison I know people that have never played souls games talk to me about Elden. Bro said TOTK has better areas than Elden when they literally just copy and pasted the same map and put a new filter on it 😂
To be fair so many copy paste elements to Elden Ring too. Especially the side dungeons. So repetitive and annoying. The legacy dungeons were ok though. I liked ToTK but haven’t finished it as got sidetracked by other games. Eventually finished Elden Ring and the bs that is the Elden Beast fight. I may go back to dlc but only on a deep sale. I think I just got burned out on it and there’s so many other games I’m playing.
I never really understood why Hollow Knight is supposed to be soulslike... mean, collecting things and learning from mistakes exists in Dark Souls games but really it is just Metroid with a more melee style character. Ain't no way they were inspired by flasks because the only similarities are that you're slowed down when healing.
Elden Ring's now standing at over 25M copies sold (saw it on Steam earlier) & given the quality of the base game, I'll be surprised if SotE doesn't put pretty much every other game released this year to shame.
Did he really mention fighting a dragon as the unique awesome thing you can do in totk? Thats also in elden ring. Like a lot. There is a whole church dedicated to killing dragons and eating their hearts. Also, the master sword pull being one of his epic moments that proves elden ring isn't anything, when we've already seen in in breath of the wild is nuts. Now I enjoyed both the modern zelda games and elden ring, but if he wants to measure the three side by side, it is uncomparable.😊
I don't think the Zelda formula is that difficult to replicate in my opinion. Darksiders and Darksiders 2 were two games that adapted the Zelda formula very successfully. Albeit intertwined with a few other gameplay concepts like the combat of God of War for example.
You know what’s funny? I’ve a co-worker who bought and is playing Elden Ring JUST so he can play the DLC with his friends. So his best argument isn’t even true.
"s-souls g-g-games are irrelevant!" You are coping! Coping and seething! You just can't accept what you're seeing! Yes you're coping! Coping and seething! The truth it is scalding, and now you are malding!
Bro acts like its so much harder to replicate BOTW and TOTC, yet from what I know, Genshin impact is just a more popular and currently relevant version, that arguably looks to have more interesting combat.
Did he say that the level design in ER is bad and use TEARS OF THE KINGDOM as a counterargument? That game has 4 dungeons all with the same premise and two of them suck. I love Zelda but DAMN Elden Ring is just almost objectively better
I'm not even angry about his opinion because most of them can be proven wrong pretty easily. What infuriates me is how this clown can spew that much garbage as if it were a fact.
I dont think anyone, including huge from software fans, would ever claim that Elden Ring/Souls games are for everyone. Im sure they/we have no trouble admitting that, its not that big a deal. No game in existence IS for everyone. Games are not required to appeal to every single type of player or person. Just like movies or music genres. The fact that some players dont like Souls games is perfectly okay. There are tons of games that dont appeal to me and thats fine I simply ignore their existence, theyre not for me. Also i want to stress the difference between lore and story. To me a story is the part we are involved in. The part we partake in. We are a tarnished called upon by grace to mend the elden ring and become the new elden lord. Now thats the premise. Now imagine an omnipresent narrator that narrated everything we did, that would be the/our story. The events that take place is now the story. “I met some weirdo who called me maidenless, i fought some huge guy on a horse that wiped the floor with me so I decided to go around him leading me to get lost and stumble upon a catacomb with a…..” etc, you get it. Lore would be the backstory/ history that was already present and set up before our part in the story took place. Now sure Elden Ring has a fairly straight forward premise and plot to follow, but its the immensely deep lore that makes these games what they are. Lore which has a whole community still talking about dark souls 1 to this day extrapolating in hour long videos, yes theres a certain type of gamer that loves lore and mystery and piecing together a fragmented story about a world that doesnt care about you, wasnt made to cater to you, exists without you, goes on without you, and then offers a challenge when facing enemies that the game has told you are great powerful beings. What a concept that a game whose most powerful foes are demigods and gods actually makes then challenging instead of pushovers. Yes some things are frustrating but in actuality i think most souls fans dont care about dying. Its just a game. And when people who have never played these games keep repeating the claim that “you lose everything” it makes me wonder what gives them the confidence to say such a blatant incorrect thing. Yes you lose your what helps you level up and buy things. But its still one thing youre losing. Souls (runes, blood echoes). What you get to keep is EVERY SINGLE ITEM YOU HAVE FOUND, progress, etc. theres not really much else to gain or lose. But thats it. Death is not a big deal unless all you care about is BEATING the game instead of experiencing/ playing the game. So really the more competitive you are the less you probably enjoy these games. Then the guy in the video brings up skyrim like it didnt change gaming forever. A song of ice and fire like the second Winds Of Winter drops it wont break the internet. When he says that he wishes there was a better term than souls like and that hes not a fan of the term. Yet he wont stop using the term. Clearly isnt bothered by it that much if he wont stop using it. Much like most videos criticizing games it becomes a criticism on the game’s players/fans. Theres something wrong with the players. Cant stop at the game, they have to attack the player base. This is sad trolling. Sorry for the sloppy rant. I will never forget how much game i got for my $60 and how many hours i out and still put into this game. This may never happen again with any game whose sole focus is a single player campaign experience.

I heard they did Ganondorf really well in this game. And I mean, he's one of my favorite Nintendo villains.
As a matter of fact, I played as him in an Elden Ring run. It was fun. Radahn's armor is a deadringer for Ganondorf's Twilight Princess look. (Which is my second favorite look for him.... Hyrule Warriors is the best one.)
FFXIV delayed their update release by a week for Elden Ring.
Atlus preponed SMT V Vengence by a week for Elden Ring.
The influence of Elden Ring is insane. Unmatched by anything in the past few years except maybe Baldur's Gate 3.
BotW >>>>
Elden Ring didn’t influence shit, ubisoft did the same numerous times before fromsoft did with elden ring
BotW’s influence on the industry is not debatable, it’s a fact
Im positive that FF14 was delayed SPECIFICALLY so Yoshi-p could play it
@@questionablezoomer764 The only influence botw had was on genshin and other gacha clones. And elden ring is nothing like an ubisoft game LMAO. Only thing similar is fast travel, which games did before ubisoft even started making rpg's....
@@AaronWOfficial Then you were too young back in 2017 to understand it's innovation. Elden Ring didn't do anything better than BotW nor previous FromSoft games, and TotK iterated upon BotW's foundation.
Yeah that's exactly what happened to me. BoTW is literally mid for me. It's boring, almost no enemy variety and no I don't count different coloured Bokoblins as different enemies.
I can’t stand modern zelda. It feels like a generic ubisoft collectathon with paper mario sticker star durability mechanics.
I have no reason to explore merely for korok seeds and shrines over and over.
I've tried playing many of the Zelda games from the SNES to the Wii and every single time I get like at most 1/4 through the games and completely lose interest.
If this dude ever heard someone say this I wonder if he'd pop a blood vessel
Brother is maidenless for a reason.... Nintendo will not marry you, forever in the simp zone by a company that will happily sue you for trying to preserve their games before the code on carts and CDs go bad.
I didn't finish Elden Ring and left it unfinished...BECAUSE I wanted to wait for the expansion to plow through the whole thing once its out.
Awh dude you should totally finish it before the DLC
@@apolloisnotashirteh there are downsides and upsides for both so it’s doesn’t really matter I do think it was confirmed story wise that you should wait at mohg then do dlc then finish the game but that doesn’t really matter
I only needed one playthrough to understand that I have no interest in it’s DLC because this bew fromsoft post elden ring goes the ubisoft way with open world activites: same repeated uninteresting content over and over again. You might as well be playing Tetris instead of going to a catacomb to gain useful equipment

Tears was a fantastic game. ER was a fantastic game. To compare them is pointless because they are not meant to evoke the same experience.
600 is based. I guess my 800 PC is even higher tier then his trash lol.
There are far more Souls clones than Zelda clones. But Souls is irrelevant.. lol
Tell me you didn’t beat Margit without telling me you didn’t beat Margit 😂
He probably wouldn't even get past tutorial. 😂
Can a game win game of the year twice?
2:26 I mean he got me there. I did indeed buy the game because of the hype and I'm not ashamed to say it kicked my teeth in big time. I was completely out of familiar waters with it and I quit after a month because I actually couldn't find the way forward.
I started the game back up halve a year later, now with an understanding what soulsborn games are and how to approach them.
having a blast in the game ever since
"People slowly starting accepting that TOTK was a great game"
I'd say is the whole opposite.
It’s really not. More negative takes on ER has washed up recently and it’s about time. TotK was beloved and still is, just like it’s predeccessor, it’s gonna be talked about for years, while ER is starting to die out rapidly
@@valentinvas6454you obviously didn’t explore enough because you quit before finishing it lmao. Finish the game before you come up with a fair argument so you can see if TotK in reality has enough new content and changes from BotW, not when you don’t know everything the game has to offer

"FF7 Rebirth is bigger than Elden Ring"
150 hours in FF7 Rebirth for the 100%
600 hours in ER and I will never be sure if I did a 100%
Elden ring is the reason I play souls games now. I beat Elden ring 2 times in a row put 400 hours in it then bought Bloodbourne, DS3, DS1, Sekiro, and demon souls remake and literally beat them consecutively. Sh8t was that good. Now I enjoyed Totk but Elden ring triggered something in me.
It spoke to you on a more personal level, it's always welcome when you discover something which does that ^-^
Fantastic journey.
@@Wveth I watched a lot of videos on it debating whether to play it. The reactions are so varied like nothing I have seen in a game. That’s what makes me second guess the paying for it.
@@Getdown8319I agree with Wveth. As a massive Souls fan as much as DS2 has its weird shit, you should definitely experience DS2. It's still a really good game

If they didn't explode your weapons after a dozen swings I could start to care about BotW and TotK.
Literally, that’s what turned me away from it completely
Brother looks like he woke up on the wrong side of a stroke.
Huh ? Elden ring the highest rated game ever
how is this shit still a debate for people .. objectively without fanboying over anything, fromsofts shit is better in every little thing xD
That’s a matter of opinion. There’s no debate to me. Just enjoy different games. FromSoftware have lot of flaws just like lots of games.
I played both liked them both.
What? You can like more than one thing! Preposterous.
How is the dude not satire or ragebaiting or whatever
I’ve been telling myself that he’s ragebaiting to cope but I dont think he really is
I can't believe this basement dweller tried to not only take a stab at ER but also Witcher 3. Funny because witcher 3 got game of the year and so did its DLC, and i almost GUARANTEE that ER DLC will to

Judging from his Ghost of Tsushima gameplay ON EASY MODE and him dying every 10 seconds is full proof this dude has NEVER “played through” Dark Souls. 😂
as a long time zelda fan, fromsoft is fucking with my number 1 spot and i love it.
I can hear the salt from Harman Smith
“It’s irrelevant”, two seconds later “its the next big thing.”
"People got bored of Elden Ring, and whet over to Zelda." Yes that is how single player games work, you finish them and move on to the next.
God i wanna argue with this guy irl so bad. 😂
He has to know he is rage baiting
Elden Ring was my first souls game and I fell in love with it. I went back and played Dark Souls 3 and loved it.
This is such a bad comparison. It's like comparing oranges to tomatoes.
A better comparison would be Elden ring being compared to skyrim..
Nintindrone: *mentions elden ring dlc view count*

I don't think the Zelda formula is that difficult to replicate in my opinion. Darksiders and Darksiders 2 were two games that adapted the Zelda formula very successfully. Albeit intertwined with a few other gameplay concepts like the combat of God of War for example.
is he actually saying GoT is less popular than Zelda? Got 44 million views first episode ToK sold 20.61 million copies worldwide. He's just wrong.
Fromsoft fanboy makes fun of Zelda fanboy
Look, I respect Zelda, but I’m not gonna let anyone respect the work Fromsoft puts into their game
The sheer projection on display is incredible.
You know what’s funny? I’ve a co-worker who bought and is playing Elden Ring JUST so he can play the DLC with his friends. So his best argument isn’t even true.
The guy who's writing/directing Zelda games now is a hack. He's ruined the franchise I grew up on.
This guy looks like he harasses underaged cosplayers at conventions.
The sheer amount of common words that are mispronounced common words by this guy already invalidate any of his opinions.
