- Follow along as we install the Vector Off Road highland cargo platform for the Jeep JK Wrangler 2 Door. It's an easy installation requiring no permanent modifications to your rig. Made in the USA and built to last, this is a great solution for overlanders, campers, and off-roaders.

Tittle reads as cargo space for JK but that's a JL anyways, Nice shelf but I wonder if it that's make some noises once you are driving on the freeway!

When the hardtop is on, the brackets sit on the bottom of hardtop where it attached to the Jeep body. What's the risk of damaging the hardtop due to the weight resting on it?
Note: on my JK, the locations on the hardtop where the bolts go through it and attach to the Jeep are thicker than the rest of the bottom of the hardtop, this would appear to cause uneven weight distribution on the hardtop and put more stress where the bolts go through the hardtop. With the hardtop off the shelf lays flat on the Jeep body, enabling uniform weight distribution.
Why does the title say JK, but you do the install on a JL?

You are correct this is a JL in the video however as Sage8JL stated, the installation process is largely the same. We just didn't have a JK for the install. When you hop on our website, be sure you are looking at the JK version, not the JL version.
Will this kit work with a soft top JL?
@Sage8JL why not make one for softop? there is only one option on the market (Rampage) and the quality is questionable at best.
@@Triggin1because the mounts are directly in the way of the soft top bows, it simply won’t fit.

It is a JL but the install is the same. We didn't have a JK to demonstrate the installation.
Dude, this didn't double the cargo space. You just added a shelf. A shelf will just get in the way. What I need to pack is a military shovel, wood planks, a tow rope, a cooler, some beach chairs, and an air compressor.

It does not "double cargo space" "space" is 3 dimensional, "cubic". You doubled square footage of the floor by adding a second story "floor", (doubling "surface area, not space). In reality, because the 2nd floor takes up some "cargo space", you can not get as much in their now.
Our society is suffering badly. The difference between cubic space and square footage of a surface. This is 3rd grade stuff 40 years ago.
I think most of us understand that this doesn’t actually “double “ your cargo space. It’s not a great way to advertise to literal people. This is a great product for those of us who don’t have or don’t want to stack a bunch of storage boxes from floor to ceiling to utilize all the space available. I have a refrigerator on a slide that would fit under the shelf. When you have many odd shaped things to pack like chairs, tent, inflatables, skottle, etc, an upper shelf helps keep all your stuff from just getting piled up in the back. Bottom line is this helps with organization.
pffffft...it does NOT double u cargo space!!! It's just a shelf 4 people who can't stack.

Being more organized & easy accessibility, is why I want this. We rented a jeep once with one and I loved it.
