Your thoughts on the HSTV-L pretty much exactly mirror my own, and you nailed some concepts that I had a difficult time trying to describe. I will say in some circumstances it does feel like T-80s are even faster than you are, mainly offroad and when making multiple turns. It has become even more frustrating to play with the addition of volumetric and after barrels had their HP buffed. Against tanks like Leopard 2s and BVMs, the most prevalent enemy tanks at that tier, you're often trying to hit more or less pixel-sized weakspots on targets that are moving at full tilt. The current round should have performance in the range of M774, which I think would go a long way towards making those weakspots more reliable to pen. The damage could stand to be buffed as well. A tech mod who is a friend of mine made a table that can describe damage, damage per second, and damage per minute for various weapons in War Thunder. Compared to 30mm APFSDS, a round that is only 40% of XM885's size, XM885 only does roughly 8% more damage per shot. Even with the low fire rate of the Bushmaster II, that means that the Bushmaster is doing ~3.55 times more damage per second and per minute. The Type 10 actually outstrips the HSTV-L in DPS and DPM, so I don't see any reason why the HSTV-L couldn't receive a buff to damage. The Type 10 is already a much more effective vehicle overall.

On the m3a3 bradley you can use the full gun depression for the launcher. You have to quickly disable the ability to fire from the commander sight while you have an atgm up in the air. It actually works quite well and it can net you some cheeky kills while on a hill.
Your gameplay, despite the eye thing (wish you health) is still very very good through entire video. Sometimes when I notice "enemy"- you already identified an ally. Your words about top tier and goal of the game to have fun and not progression- very wise. It was worth waiting and I hope to see more. You deserve absolutely every word of encouragement you get.
For the newer players out there, I would just like to give some historical context. Note that I will be referring to APFSDS rounds as "darts", which is what they basically are, for those unaware: -The M3A3 Bradley (which some of us call the "Chadley") was first added at 8.7, which is probably the first among the "overpowered" regular tech tree IFVs Gaijin has added in previous updates, preceding the Puma. Back then, TOW-2Bs were remarkably busted, being able to consistently one shot literally everything if not crippling them significantly beforehand. Having nearly as much pen as the base TOW missile on a top attack variant of the missile certainly didn't go unnoticed by Gaijin and it went up in BR a total of 4 times so far: 8.7 to 9.0, 9.0 to 9.3 (which is roughly where TOW-2Bs were nerfed, base TOW-2s could also defeat basic ERA like Kontakt-1 back then but was fixed at around this time), and 9.3 to 9.7 (where it has now received TOW-2As after years since its release). -The M247 has seen a lot of tweaks. From the BR jumps it has experienced from 8.3 to 8.7 and now 9.0, it also used to have a full, single belt 560 rounds and it's belts had 40mm solid AP rounds which had more pen and could easily pen the sides of most NATO/BLUFOR MBTs. It was also notorious for something called overpressure stacking which was brought about by its replacement of hull break, which allowed you to basically overpressure any vehicle with sustained fire, usually to a weakspot, from most larger caliber autocannons. It also had tracers back then for all its belts. -The HSTV-L has been tweaked as well. The optics used to have fixed zoom, roughly 8x magnification if my memory serves me right for both the gunner and commander sight. The ready rack was also restricted to only around 8 rounds with a long replenishment time (you may have seen old footage of this, perhaps from Spookston, who the vehicle is heavily associated with in the War Thunder community). Before these fixes, it was 9.7. When its ready rack was buffed, it was moved up to 10.3 (along with the IPM1 which I will also touch on). And now sits at 10.7 due to BR decompression. -Almost all of the proper Abrams tanks (not counting the prototype XM-1s) were also subject to changes. The base M1 used to be 10.0 along with the IPM1, which also had access to like 5 or 6 different round types (basically being a copy pasta M1 with just 1 new dart: M833, aside from the armor difference). This changed when the IPM1 was given M900, which removed M735 and M774 from its ammo options and moved it up to 10.3. The M1A1 was also 10.3 back then and it had no Tier 1 dart; M829 for it was Tier 4. These two tanks made for a very effective duo especially considering that the IPM1 was basically buffed during a sale, which led to a lot of new/newish players using top tier ground premiums to face off against experienced 10.3 US players with very capable tanks and definitely contributed to the IPM1 going to 10.7. Soon enough, the IPM1 was indeed moved up to 10.7 and so was the M1A1 when it got M829A1 as its new top round some time after/alongside the IPM1 BR raise. -The base M1A2 was also changed. Back when the top BR was 10.7, it and the US tree used to have M829A1 as its top round. This changed when the top BR for Ground Battles was increased to 11.0, dragging the M1A2 with it. This also brought about the addition of the M1A1 HC at 10.7 with the same ammo options as the M1A2, practically making the HC identical to the A2 aside from the BR, repair cost, CITV (commander's sight with thermals), IRCM, dozer blade, and number of available smoke salvoes (with every other Abrams tank firing two salvoes of 6 smokes, giving them 2 available salvoes; which has now been changed to three salvoes of 4 smokes compared to the HC's four salvoes of 4 smokes) for a time. Some time after the HC's addition, the M1A2 received the newer M829A2 round which still sits as the 2nd most powerful dart round the game. -The squadron M1A1 AIM also used to be 10.7, and due to the previous round change given to the base M1A1, it is now currently the only researchable Abrams tank that does not have a Tier 1 dart. And it is also the only one in the Abrams family with NVDs/thermals for a pintle-mounted machine gun. -The M1128 Stryker MGS was introduced to the game at 9.0 and was very bad on release. It used to have a 10 second reload rate, and it was very prone to the hull break mechanic. Darts could scrape the remotely operated turret and it will just die. The slat/cage armor it is also known for was also always on from the start (i.e. it was a stock mod), which resulted in the thing having a very poor power-to-weight ratio of 14.96 hp/t spaded, even lower than the Challenger 2F and TES. -The AGS has seen a bit of a significant BR change, starting off at 9.3 or 9.7 (I forgot which exactly) and jumping to 10.0/10.3 because as Oxy said, it is rather obnoxious to destroy when hull down and it did not experience hull break unlike the Stryker. It also got an engine buff around this time. Compared to the Stryker and XM8 (which were its closest comparisons in the US tree at the time; the CCVL came later), it was smaller, had the same unmanned turret as the Stryker (with less smokes, only Gen 1 thermals, but a significantly faster reload rate, and slightly worse gun handling), and was rather adept at ambush tactics and urban fighting due to its size and ability to neutral steer. -The Merkava Mk3D used to be 10.0, then brought up to 10.3 because it was stomping on top tier ground premium players, mostly TURMS players, that had difficulty killing it in 1 shot. 1:48:55 and 4:06:16 (note for me to clip later :3)
The other thing that also does warrant the IPM1 going to 10.7 is also that it actually has the "800" mm turret armor that keeps darts from just going straight through the turret cheeks which drastically does increase survivability at times
@@devanmcghee6123while the IPM1 has slightly better turret cheek armour compared to the M1, it isn’t on the level of the M1A1HC/AIM or the M1A2, it only stops around 510 mm of pen compared to the M1s 440mm. While the other M1 variants mentioned block the 800mm or so
@bappojappo-_-3986 so I believe they upped it to the same amount that the M1A1 has now which is still less than the end of the line Abrams but it doesn't allow shots from like the turms to just go straight through the cheeks anymore. Does make it a bit more survivable I've found
Hello I'm a no-one but have 2 cents to add.. I have a friend who served on a "M551A1 Sheridan" during the gulf war. When he was first assigned to a base M-551, he constantly complained to me that there was so much wrong with WT's idea of a Sheridan. Anyway one of the big this is that its reload was 10 to18 seconds per round depending on the loader.. Anything longer than 18s they failed the loader coarse. It didn't matter what round/ATGM was being loaded. Also it had a 30 deg/s turret rotation, amphibious and floats really good just very very slow while in the water. About 2 to 4 mph, oh, it's max speed is 72 kph, they just didn't go that fast because it was extremely noisy.. When he got an upgraded to the M551A1 the ATGM had been removed for Thermal sights.. The laser range finder was added back in 1971.. He has tons more to complain about but these were the only ones that I thought should be addressed by the dev's, I don't know how to do it and honestly don't care enough because I don't like it myself... LOL When I do play I don't play above tier 4 much because I don't know the maps that good so I'm just a SL/SP/RP farm for the opposing team.. I'm a 2 to 4 tier player.. I still get run over even there... LOL have a good one and take care..
Good to see the US tree finally get its final video. Would you consider doing a series of addendums to the already completed trees to reflect new vehicles and entire lines in the case of GB?
Fun fact with the M3A3 Bradley! You CAN utilize the full 19 degrees, but only if you turn the commander fire mode off after you fire the ATGM. Your commander sight is locked to the gun's sight only in commander fire mode, but when you turn that off it gets a lot more free range of sight. One thing is, the missile will still track your commander's sight even if you turn off the commander fire mode, so you can fire the missile, hit the hotkey to turn off commander fire mode, and guide the missile in with the 19 degrees of depression the commander's sight offers.

I remember I was just starting to unlock my first rank V tank for the US when the last guide came out. Since then I’ve unlocked full US top tier (sep and adats). The points that I can confidently say I valued the most were in the IPM1 and M1A2 SEP portions of the video. Very well spoken. It’s great to hear from you again and thanks for providing a quality guide as always :)
When the last video in this series was posted, I was just beginning rank VI research and was looking forward to this video. As of about a month ago, I own all American tanks anyway 😭 still gonna watch the whole thing - thanks oxy!
Oh my goodness. It's great to see you again. I've been looking forward to seeing you back around. Hope everything has been alright for you. Happy to see you back
HSTVL round uses the 'small caliber APFSDS' modifier, which is a thing since the Swedish tree was added because a lot of people complained about the 40mm autocannons.
What you said in the IPM1 segment about pushing the enemy and confidence had been drilled into every armor commander since the 2nd world war. You have to push the enemy and feel confident doing it. Keep pushing and if you become to complacent and too careful you will lose your advantage and you will definitely get killed.

"Oh boy, I can finally catch up on some UA-cam subs on my days off this week." **Oxy uploads four hour tank guide for the first time in over a year** God damn it.
tip for those of you using the M247: if you arent using the VT belts, lock a target and then switch to third person and draw a circle on the border the lead indicator. almost always works.
Fantastic video! I love the inclusion of the 'mindset' for each vehicle. Knowing how to think is so much more important than raw data but many reviews ignore this because it is difficult to put into words. Really glad you're taking your time and going beyond the mere stats. Keep it up!
It took me two days to finish watching the video, but I managed it! It wasn't an issue of interest, I just had to block out enough time to watch the video. I always really appreciate the way you spend the time putting chapters in these (the last several I've watched, anyway). It makes it much easier to find specific vehicles if I want to hear your opinion on them. I also love the lineup sections because they provide me with new ideas. They provide better understanding how to form effective, useful lineups. I'm 6000 hours in, and I still learn new things with every video of yours that I watch. Thank you _so much_ for spending the tremendous amount of time it must take to make these videos, it's very much appreciated! Edit : Forgot how UA-cam Italics work.
That Sherridan missile reload mechanic is also present for BMP-3. There is also a bug related to that since they are 2 separate racks. Despite the missiles not having/needing a ready rack, if you deplete your ready rack you cannot reload a missile unless the ready rack timer is done.
Oxy, where did you go? I really loved your videos, i find them really interesting and it was good material to fall asleep to. Hope you are well and that you return soon!

Even with the low fire rate of the Bushmaster II, that means that the Bushmaster is doing ~3.55 times more damage per second and per minute.
Does make it a bit more survivable I've found
Love how the higher the BR is that Oxy talks about, the more philosophical he gets
The segment on the IPM1 is absolutely brilliant, you know which one Oxy. Many of us needed to hear that
It's disinformation... He says this to get more easy kills....
This is the best series ever made. I Watch every second of it.
Oxy took so long to make this video that I've grinded out the entire US ground tech tree from rank 1 when I started watching this
Welcome back king
Good to see the US tree finally get its final video.
Would you consider doing a series of addendums to the already completed trees to reflect new vehicles and entire lines in the case of GB?
I second this. Would be very useful.
Yes
Fun fact with the M3A3 Bradley! You CAN utilize the full 19 degrees, but only if you turn the commander fire mode off after you fire the ATGM. Your commander sight is locked to the gun's sight only in commander fire mode, but when you turn that off it gets a lot more free range of sight. One thing is, the missile will still track your commander's sight even if you turn off the commander fire mode, so you can fire the missile, hit the hotkey to turn off commander fire mode, and guide the missile in with the 19 degrees of depression the commander's sight offers.
Oxy coming out of nowhere like an angel. Dropping a 4 hour video like a boss. Just know that people will look forward to your work. Just take your time and take some breaks if needed.
So proud of you on this one, such an amazing job and thank you for allowing me to contribute to it even if it was in a small way!
you can not escape me #mochaalwaysknows #thelattethatlistens #allpowerfullcoffee
You know I’m going to watch for all 4 hours at least twice.
When the last video in this series was posted, I was just beginning rank VI research and was looking forward to this video. As of about a month ago, I own all American tanks anyway 😭 still gonna watch the whole thing - thanks oxy!
Its wild that I'm so invested in the game that I'll sit and watch a 4+ hour video on it lmao. Helps that your videos are fantastic, but still lmao.
OH HOW I MISSED YOU OXY, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE VIDEO
Oh my goodness. It's great to see you again. I've been looking forward to seeing you back around. Hope everything has been alright for you. Happy to see you back
its great to see ya back oxy you've really helped me make it through the game and well i hope you do the smaller countries as well ^w^
HSTVL round uses the 'small caliber APFSDS' modifier, which is a thing since the Swedish tree was added because a lot of people complained about the 40mm autocannons.
People actually did that? Dayum xD
Dam this video took so long I was able to get from 1.0 to 9.7 in the American tree
What you said in the IPM1 segment about pushing the enemy and confidence had been drilled into every armor commander since the 2nd world war. You have to push the enemy and feel confident doing it. Keep pushing and if you become to complacent and too careful you will lose your advantage and you will definitely get killed.
Its been 10 months Oxy hope you're doing good ❤
Adding this to my repeat list of Oxy’s vids ❤
The snail finally got bro
36:45 it does let you though if you disable commander control, as missiles will follow the commander sight even without aim mode active
in order to get the extra gun depression on the bradley you have to use aim from gunner sight in options
also the m60a1 aos has the best power to weight of any us m60
OMFG I CANT BELIEVE IT. when i saw this vid it genuinely made me smile . love your vids oxy they are so relaxing i am actually gonna save this for a better occasion. never stop making these pls
our man forgot his password
"Oh boy, I can finally catch up on some UA-cam subs on my days off this week."
**Oxy uploads four hour tank guide for the first time in over a year**
God damn it.
And hes gone again
tip for those of you using the M247: if you arent using the VT belts, lock a target and then switch to third person and draw a circle on the border the lead indicator. almost always works.
and hes gone
He's working with Gaijin now
@@ewgentor any update or news on if he'll make any vids again ? i just miss his vids and style. i keep coming back to rewatch.
You gotta love when the legendary Oxy gives advice in many forms in gameplay and relatively the same to real life over the years Oxy has gotten wiser
Hes gone again, dammit
That quick, "LOLOLOLOLOLOL" from Oxy has blessed my ears
bro my sister announced and then gave birth in the time it took you to upload your next video... still waiting.
Fantastic video! I love the inclusion of the 'mindset' for each vehicle. Knowing how to think is so much more important than raw data but many reviews ignore this because it is difficult to put into words. Really glad you're taking your time and going beyond the mere stats. Keep it up!
HE’S BACK
annnnnnd he's gone again
oh my god YAY YOURE BACK!!! your videos have helped me so much thank you for all the time you put into them
2:35:32 Still not fixed to this very day.
Is he the guy from the English dev streams ?
Yes he is
This is what he did before gaijibbles hired him to do the dev streams, now he aint got no time for his own channel anymore
That Sherridan missile reload mechanic is also present for BMP-3.
There is also a bug related to that since they are 2 separate racks. Despite the missiles not having/needing a ready rack, if you deplete your ready rack you cannot reload a missile unless the ready rack timer is done.
Please 🙏 🙏 🙏 come back
I've been rewatching all of your videos recently for comfort - thank you for coming back, and with so much effort! Much love Oxy
welcome back, femboy, keeping it short eh
Oxy, where did you go? I really loved your videos, i find them really interesting and it was good material to fall asleep to. Hope you are well and that you return soon!
Michael Jackson impersonator
oxy wiggling their camera after getting an artillery kill just made my day
MURICA
This is amazing, cant wait to watch it. Good to see another quality video from You. Take care.
your videos are what made me try out the US tree. i am currently working my way through the tree (Rank 5 so far), and i have used your guide as the way i build up my line up. I havent had the same succes with all of the tanks, but for the most part, your have been spot on for my play style.
Thanks for all your hard work!
Holy, the speech you gave on the ipm1, i think that kinda applies to more then just the tank, and even the game. It genuinely felt like life advice lol
1:00:18 the full saying actually fits very well with what you're trying to communicate....
"A jack of all trades, master of none, is still better than master of one".
glad to see you back man been waiting a while
The best war thunder UA-cam guide of all time. If you ever do Swedish ground forces, ill be there.
Welcome back! I just really started playing at VI/VII and this is very helpful.
Your USSR ground forces analysis got me into maining that nation. I love content like this, glad to see you're back!
Its great to see back, and even greater to see the continuation of these series! these are the most informative and dense, and I personally learned so much from the previous one.
I'm ready for those 4 hours!
Welcome back! Thank You for making these videos, it made me learn more about the vehicles. Very informative.
your sincerity, honest aproach, the way you expose yourself, the complexity, the way you put things in perspective, your intelligence, your everything
Return of the king
I don't even play the game anymore, but you make such informative, well spoken vids that I will stay subbed
Unbelievably happy at this releasing 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I've been waiting this one patiently. And it's the best one you've made. Especially when you summed up the game at the end of the Abrams section
When we needed him most, the man comes back with a 4 hour long block buster!
IM so happy that Oxy finally updated and finished the US tech tree!
I've been waiting for this video, and I'm so happy to see it live now. Thank you so much!
Great to see you back, and I really appreciate your commentary on top tier.
Glad to see your back!
I started the American tree as you started the series. I'm already at the end but I'm glad you finally finished it anyways!
Man I was at 8.0 now I’m at 10.7 and I hate it lmao I’m not a huge fan of top tier I like 9.0 but I’m constantly getting up tiered
@@DALONEWOLF108 i find it gets better once you get to 11.3 or 11.7. Because you can't get uptierd anymore
@@airickpelle that’s how I’m feeling I’ve stopped my grind so far I have a lot of the premiums to have good lineups but im so happy I won a black cat m18 yesterday from the chests on my third try Lmao but yeah im grinding the French tech tree rn I have currently 7.7 tanks and a jet im loving the slight balance they have at the br’s and the lineup’s especially at 6.0
These videos take a ton of time and effort but it’s good to have you back oxy. Great work.
This is insanely well done, so freaking useful having things chopped up by vehicle! Told you it was a great video, thanks again for inspiring me to play again!
No way!!! This is awesome. These video’s got me into war thunder like 3 years ago!
Holy shit we have really lived long enough to see this video !
Welcome back, only recently discovered the channel and love the quality of the content. I was mostly playing USSR vehicles but recently switched to USA and that's how I came across one of your videos. It was the M24 Chaffee that won me over to the American tree, what an awesome fun little tank haha. Anyway sorry to hear about the eyesight issue, I can relate a bit, I have rly annoying eye floaters that def makes gameplay bit more tricky at times, specially on snowy maps or AirRB.
OH SH*T HE BACK!!! 🔥🔥We love you mr oxy, welcome back! ❤
That IPM1 monologue is spot on. Sometimes you just say "F it" and run at enemies making monkey noises, and after you are left wondered "wait, how did it actually worked?! How in the hell i did it?!". Be unpredictable. Dont wait for opportunity, make your own opportunity and hammer it while it's hot.
Welcome back! You're one of my go to "bedtime" youtubers (along with Luetin09 and ForgottonWeapons)
This is maybe the first time ive seen the runtime of a video and actually exclaimed aloud "Oh my god!". Brilliant stuff here.
WELCOME BACK, HERO! Say do you play Dead by Daylight as well? I keep seeing Otzdarva matched up against a survivor named Oxygen Thief!
ALSO THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL THIS WORK HOOOOOLY 4 HOURS!?
YESSSSSSS I COULNDT WAIT FOR THIS VID! SOME OF MY FAVORITE TANKS ARE AMERICAN TIER 6!
Even thought he talks a while to make a video, I still go back to the old videos to relearn stuff. Glad to have you back Oxy.
Good to see you back man, been progressing through the tree at pretty much the same rate these videos come out 😅, so hopefully this improves my gameplay. No worries on time between videos, these videos are literally the reason I'm good at ground.
I'm watching this during a very quiet morning shift on 4 and a half hours of sleep and your voice is making it hard to stay awake
The madlad is back, i started playing the USA tech tree and thought i wouldnt be able to see top tier.
Good to see you back
When the world needed him the most, he came
All hail the king of the holy war thunder!🙇🏼♂️
Ive been in top tier for quite a while now and binged the entire us series just to find he hadnt done top tier when i needed it. Even though its late i still learned quite a bit from this and i love the whole idea, just wish i had found the lower tier videos sooner when i really needed them
