This is why I think it being at 10.0 isn’t that bad, 695mm doesn’t mean too much when the game is so inconsistent, plus it’s not enough pen to make a huge difference, substitute the 292 with a t80 or Leo 2 and he can do almost just as well. With the 10 second reload if you miss or get trolled by the game you are in big trouble.
Simple math. This thing was build in real(1 prototype), so it is not that hard for russian devs to get unclassified data from soviet archives about shell mass, material and velocity. From there it is simple calculation.

Same with obj292, 700m pen is just nothing , or even if it will be 1000mm+, any shell may easily vanish without dmg in driver/commander triplex.

To everyone who says it's OP at 10.0: 10 sec reload, no mg, no smoke, no thermals. Most tanks at this BR are getting 1 shotted into their weak points anyway. If you missed with this tank, or had no damage, or got fucked by the game - you're dead, there's no place for any mistakes. Meanwhile it has all default weak points of T series tanks..
Man it should be 10.7 is OP at 10.0 it can meet 9.0-9.7 tanks and like wich part of that tank is worse than the vilkas that is a 10.3, there is no reason for 10.0, you wont play like a Heavy tanks and go alone and rely on your amor, you gonna play that thing as a SPG or sniper, thermals,smoke and mg arent a big lose, even it have T series weakspots, still have an strong armor. if you think is balanced at 10.0 you have no idea of balancing

No. Vilkas should generally be lower in br, and not only him, but this does not mean that because of the fucking Vilkas you need to raise 292 by 10.7. The only advantage of 292 is that it has high armor penetration (no one has canceled the gaijin moment) and good speed (which he cannot normally implement, because the reload time is 10 seconds). No normal smoke, no reloading, no thermal imager, not even a coaxial machine gun, or any impressive damage. On the front line with such a reload we will die after the first gaijin moment or mistake. If you play it as a sniper, then it’s easier to take Turms, which has a good thermal imager and smokes in case of emergency. It seems to me that you yourself do not understand what you are talking about.

You would have killed him, but at that moment your projectile disappeared in Strf, a pallet from the projectile flew in (this has not been fixed since their appearance in the game)
It might not be the best comparison, but I am going to treat this like obj 279. They are similar in that they both have the highest pen for their respective shells (APHE for 279, APFSDS for the 292. They both have 10 second reloads. They are both mobile (279 is more mobile than you think). The ONLY difference is that the 279s armor is a lot more trolly than the T-80.
Idk, why people say it's OP, but you're essentially the purest definition of a Glass Cannon. You don't have any MG's to prevent helis from rocketing you, your reload is 10 seconds, most other tanks will out-reload you, you don't get any commander over-ride, no thermals (iirc), no sort of protection of chemical based shells, no smoke grenades. The only thing really going for it is a really good cannon, and a better reverse gear (for soviet standards).
Realistically you arent gonna kill the heli bc its shooting you from 4kms away, reload is fine bc you one shot whatever youre fighting, thermals are a crutch, HEAT cant pen you missiles would have penned you anyway, only weakspot is the lowerplate most and you can just remove shells from the hull and keep them in the turret. Only reason you would die is pushing the entire team instead of funneling them in. Thing deserves a BR increase it shouldnt be fighting 9.0 tanks. Most their shells just turn your shells yellow when they pen you and then you kill them

And 9.0 has decent Darts, and pretty good HEAT to take out, (like I said Glass Cannon) Object 292. Imo the only thing going for it, is just the Cannon.

The thing has has the the ability to survive dart that pen 496mm from the front, which are 11.0 rounds hell it can even bounce the leo 2 PLs best round which has 536mm pen at 11.3. The tank doesnt deserve to get to play like an 11.0 in 9.0 matches.
Tldr about the 292 or super OBJ 120: it's a T-80 with 152. Quick movements makes the gun stutter since the STAB is ment for the 125. In alot of engagements its better to use HE since it a nuke. You don't really have to use the LRF for apfsds since the shell is going mach Jesus.
When I saw it's addition to the game I was really mad ,because it is really OP,even without coaxial,but still.The only good thing about it is,that it has the most satisfying reloading sound😂
There is absolutely nothing OP about it. Any T-72/T-80 based tank around the same BR is MUCH better. This does not have thermals. Neither does it have a machine gun. What it does have is a cannon with a pretty horrendous reload rate which gives you extra pen (that you do not actually need at all).
Nah its not op its just ok you kinda consider it as the m10 in low tier it lacks every basic mbt things like smoke thermal and coax it has long reload and the armor only strong in the front just a bit of angle and you expose massive weakspot
Had 7 on my team first game..less than 5 mins in, I had four players left to try and win with. Alot of ppl bought into this event with GE and this is their only 10.0 tank...so they're leaving after one death and abandoning the teams.
This looks like great vehicle to bring to the highest BR for a bit of extra bonus. May not work Everytime with having no thermals and other additions, but that gun is ridiculous
ussr got a huge buff for the 10.0 lineup, first they uptier the the type 81 to 11.0, the only counter to su25 below 10.3br. then they give ussr the 292, as if they needed yet another op 10.0 vehicle.
Im so sure that the 140mm Leopard will be made off structual steel since its a german prototype and be one shot from every angle by a 30mm. All while this thing right here is just as durable as every other russian T-72 upwards.

I don’t get why people are crying it’s OP. It performs worse than any other tank in 10.0. You just have to be good in it to get the most out of it. It lacks a lot of stuff vs other tanks. The reload time got me shot most the time and no MG to hit helicopters suck. Plus no thermals makes it hard to see tanks, esp in night battles. It’s a fun sniping tank
The way I see the 292 is just a goober tank. If it were to have the regular 125, it'd have awful performance. The cannon is its saving grace. Every choice must revolve around getting that one shot. Miss, and you die. Pick the wrong target, you die. Get a minor disabling shot, you die. It has to be played much slower with the reload, at a tier where speed and aggression is key for success and survival. It also does not have the reverse speed to bail out of a bad situation, so a good route must be planned to ensure good cover whilst still moving forwards. It's definitely one of the most interesting gameplay loops of the Soviet MBTs

I have played it exclusively with HE and with a shell that big it pops pretty much anything even with ERA.
Its got insane pen but no small 12.7mm gun and got LONGEST top tier reload. So its pretty balanced. Good work gaijin

I thought that this tank would be impossible to get like Gaijin always does, so I didn't care and missed the first few marks. Now that I'm aware of how easy it actually was to get (even though I only have 1 mark), I'm really considering buying the marks I missed. Should I do it?

I don’t get why people are crying it’s OP. It performs worse than any other tank in 10.0. You just have to be good in it to get the most out of it. It lacks a lot of stuff vs other tanks. The reload time got me shot most the time and no MG to hit helicopters suck. Plus no thermals makes it hard to see tanks, esp in night battles. It’s a fun sniping tank

The way I see the 292 is just a goober tank. If it were to have the regular 125, it'd have awful performance. The cannon is its saving grace. Every choice must revolve around getting that one shot. Miss, and you die. Pick the wrong target, you die. Get a minor disabling shot, you die. It has to be played much slower with the reload, at a tier where speed and aggression is key for success and survival. It also does not have the reverse speed to bail out of a bad situation, so a good route must be planned to ensure good cover whilst still moving forwards.
It's definitely one of the most interesting gameplay loops of the Soviet MBTs
