The LOSAT CCVL is one vehicle I've been wanting Gaijin to add to War Thunder for a long time. It fires Kinetic Energy Missiles (KEMs) which are very powerful. Unfortunately, everything else about it sucks.

Missile wobble still happens, it’s just rarer with good ping. If you’re unfortunate enough to have like 180 ping, the missile will still always wobble. Even with a good connection, it is borderline impossible to hit exactly where you want. Right now there isn’t really any reason to take LOSAT over anything else in a 10.3 lineup.

I love that after gaijin nerfed atgms into the dirt, quite literally in some cases, they added a bunch of atgm based vehicles for us to grind for.
IIRC the point of LOSAT in the context of ground use was to have an ATGM that would have the ability to kill enemy tanks outside of their gun range and do it fast, as it was perceived that TOW's lower range and lower speed would allow for the enemy to see the TOW incoming, and at minimum be able to figure out where the launch team were and retaliate.
The system was also pretty light so this can be mounted onto a humvee if anyone at gaijin wanted to entertain peak gremlin gameplay.

@themastersquire6341 The BTR 80 is a good vehicle just in the wrong BR bracket. I'm a bit surprised Gajin didn't put this at 80 with a stabilizer.
They will likely add a premium version of it, just has some odd attachment

Yeah I could have sworn they fixed this exact issue with ATGMs, mainly SS.11s, eons ago.
@@xsonohx7961it's been reintroduced. I noticed it when they added the bravy, whenever I fire a missile it does the weird wobble and when I'm in a marder the missile tends to hit the ground for no reason whatsoever.
Have you seen how Kornets fly IRL? They don't fly straight they fly circles to it's target...same as other missiles which are spin stabilised...but it ruins the gameplay immensely.
@@interpl6089ye the new missles are terrible for gameplay atgm vehicles were never good but now they are terrible mostly like the type 89 that has rockets that 50% of the time hit the dirt instantly and even if it fly's longer it procedes to spin out of control and hit the dirt lol

I love how despite well documented, well reported, and well recorded the LOSAT is / was, Gaijin still finds a way to gimp USA Top Tier in the face of a 10 foot long pile bunker at Missile Speed. Ridiculous.
They do it because they're russian. It's all Russian nationalism and unfairly making western vehicles suck while making Russian/Chinese vehicles OP.

they low key need to bring back hull break as a seperate mechanic to represent vehicles being annihilated by giant munitions like this
The cap reload is the worst thing about all the rocket tanks. You have to live on the cap or just respawn.
Like the Type 75 MLRS, which has a long reload but not super long, only for you to realize the rockets replenish one at a time...
I bet it would be really good if they gave it the old missile mechanics so it would work reasonably well

I don't even play War Thunder anymore. I just watch this guy's content because he's funny without being too much of a goofball. A sort of somber kind of funny that I can get behind.
The sound edits are also a treat.
i hope they at least add some sort of circle to indicate where launcher is facing. It would at least negate firing straight to ground or in the sky a little
You should play the "ST-A1" in the Japanese tech tree. It's a bit on the slow end but it's gun is very good and responsive, 20 degrees/s of gun rotation and -10 degrees depresion, it has a APHE shell that can pen 187mm and a fenomenal zoom (Like a Leopard 1).
As well as neutral steer and a good reverse gear that is very useful
Would love to see this played!
Don't forget the HEAT shell, a little on the slow side but very powerful.
That said, I consider the 6.7 Type 61 and STA-3 as way better BR for BR.

When a somewhat more arcadey tank game (Armored Warfare) has more accurate LOSAT missile guidance than WT.
They really screwed up missiles when they Nerfed them while trying to make them more “realistic”
I don't understand how Gaijin can find new ways to make something broken or not work the same way scientists find new advances in their fields.
Like they have to be trying, it is a concerted effort and you cannot convince me otherwise.

Looks like the LOSAT's more or less meant to be played similar to the mechs in MechWarrior 5 where you need to get a feel of where the weapon systems are for the arms as even if your cockpit has a clear visual on a target the barrels for your weapons won't have that same clearance when debris and terrain is put into the mix.
seeing spookston talk about this vehicle a year or two ago not knowing if it was going to be in the game feels so weird
I think that a good addition to this vehicle is a hit circle like cannons have, that way at least you know when you are gonna hit the ground or a building in front of you.

gaijins ability to make long range anti tank missiles only work at shorter ranges when it shouldnt even be able to penetrate anything at that range is astonishing, good job nerfing missiles
this thing needs to separate the launchers like the USH to reload either 1 of them at a time or 1 missile at a time to not have it take way too long like old anti air reloads, maybe a sight that helps show where each launcher will fire at closer ranges too like the ontos
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. These things wouldn't have any power at launch, they need distance to build speed.
But apparently gaijin's only experience with modeling rocket fire is bottle rockets, so that's how they think they travel.

In theory, a kinetic missile is actually a pretty good idea? Not on a tank of course. But from say a naval vessel or plane? Pretty solid for dealing with advanced APS

@@bigtony4930No they don't. Old players are leaving. So far Gaijin managed to survive because of constant income of the new players, but this stream will run out sooner or later
Just download a naval boat, spend $5 on a Moffett and let it cook.
You'll get insane amounts of SL for free and unlock all this, no problem.
Thing is people didn't even have to grind to get it. Gaijin put the materials on the marketplace to build it before it was even possible to grind it. So some people just bought the materials and sold it for huge profit long before the people grinding the event will get it.
this thing can hold 12 missiles, this is a slight refrence to how spoogstoomed has 12 letters in its word

Three things:
1. I just come here for the vibe tbh. I don't care much if ghe games go well or poorly, I just enjoy watching you play and hearing you talk. It is really relaxing and fun!
2. The XM1071 would be a FANTASTIC addition, maybe as a tech tree option.
3. 8:24 - Suboptimal.
A lot of that missile wobble is not unique to LOSAT, it's been affecting every missile since the atgm update to various degrees.

It's just the server refresh rate being kinda trash, I suppose this thing just shows it well due to the missile's extreme speed causing constant misses because of it.
ATGMs are such garbage.
AMX-HOT used to be godly, guys were even playing it at 10.0 now it's garbage. Ditto for almost everything else with missiles.
It's worse with LOSAT because the high velocity emphasizes the controller's instability (or wobble) with the variable lag imposed by ping.

You've really got to do a video on the other HE slinging vehicle of the 'Sons of Atilla' update, the 2S1. Either the Russian or Hungarian one, now with the TGPD (Top Gear Police Department) skin working, it'd be a blast.
in this vehicle the missile drop seems excessive.
And yea the LOSAT may have a stabilised laser sight but its not Russian so it can't fire on the move. (Supposedly the BMP-2M manual or whatever its called even tells the crew they shouldn't fire missiles on the move)

I actually find the sturmtiger to be very viable in its own weird way. Indirect fire is just for fun, but you can do very well by brawling with it somehow.
You should not be able to detonate the Grenade(the game sees it as a rocket) with machine gun fire. Autocannons and Mainarmaments are fine but getting your Grenade shot out of the air by every american tank because 50. cal is just stupid. It also should work mechanically like a bomb not a rocket. Way to unreliable sometimes u kill a IS2 by hitting the ground 5m left of it and sometimes hitting the ground 1m next to an M18 dosnt even destroy the tracks.
@@beniditzthats overpressure mechanics for u…i mostly play large caliber HE shooting tanks like sturmtiger and brummbar and such and i can say that using these tanks including Vidar is like tossing a coin when shooting your shot…either i will obliterate the tank which i shot at or i will do no damage sometimes the most reliable spots were if i shoot would almost guarantee the enemy tank destruction will fail to kill the enemy tank….just today i was playing with my avre and shot a bulldog on his turret…according to game the shell of avre got 20kgs of explosives filler and bulldog got light armour so technically my shell should vaporise the tank but all it did was damage the breach of the bulldog and nothing else

3:40 50/50 for me. Its amazing to see someone who is good enough at the game to get nukes on a regular basis (i suffer from chronic skill issue)
On the other hand your editing and humor create very enjoyable videos no matter how you perform in the game.
I wouldn't say you're suffering a skill issue. Especially in ground Gajin tends to hate ground layers for some reason.
Spookston is my favourite war thunder youtuber but at this point i think Nukes are just more luck than skill.

I think what would benefit this the most would be multiple reticles that show which tube is ready to fire next and where it's technically aimed given obstructions which I know is asking a lot from Gaijin.

One thing I noticed when this thing came out from testing with my friend. according to the kill cam the missile spawned UNDER the hull of the LOSAT, not at the tubes. Which was what caused a lot of the ground striking

Ive had decent luck wit the LOSAT as a close or long range ambush tank but it is stoopid inconsistent with where the hell the missiles are going to go be it up right or side to side.
Edit- wobble still happens but they killed the gremlin buried inside... Missiles have pen accurate to the card now...

Attempt/Day #25: KV-2 (ZiS-6). As stated before, the 107mm WILL kill whatever it pens in usually one shot, and can UFP a panther at the right angle. The armor works at times and not others, and mobility is what you'd expect of a KV-2.

I have found it extremely good on long sight lines, and as long as you can keep the turret level it works pretty well at all ranges, I have also never had a problem with the wobble

So i quit playing around may, and when i saw this vehicle i was instantly reminded of the Gyrojet rocket pistol, a "gun" that shoots little rocket propelled bullets, and should in theory be more deadly at long range.

I think the main quark with aiming this tank is the hypersonic rounds don't guide well because no missile can pull 50Gs and the turret has no vertical aiming, so if you're on a slight bump or divot it can screw with things, like when you had to aim up because they kept over correcting.

The major problem I'm seeing is just how fast the missile is, combined (i think) with it's upwards arc at the start
What this needs is a level in the gun sight to show if you're looking above or below where the launcher is aimed.

I guess IRL firing on the move big bumps could jam the missile while it's accelerating in the tube, so the doctrine would be to fire stationary, especially when fighting distances are a lot bigger with high amounts of intel. But in a game they could do whatever they want.

the missles either go up or down because even though the sight is aimed right at the enemy, it doesnt show that the launcher is facing up or down because it has 0 elevation and 0 depression
the best part about this video, is that spook did a video about the LOSAT about a year ago, "The Most Overkill Anti-Tank Missile" ... funny how time works

This thing is like someone ported a WoT vehicle into War Thunder between the weird aiming scheme and floaty maneuvering.
Also, the missiles going into the air or ground randomly can be partially controlled by adjusting your ranging to cause the missiles to to fire straight or above your point of aim, sorta. I don't have the vehicle but I tested it for like 10 minutes trying to figure out if there's a way to make it viable. I feel for the people that have to fight competent LOSAT users, if the missiles' pen isn't fixed but they fix the aiming scheme, it'll be capable of easily 1 or 2 shotting everything with high accuracy.
Edit: Oh they did fix the aiming, that's good, I hadn't tested it post-patch.
