    My country is Serbia (part of ex Yugoslavia) and Prodigy was the first foreign band which played concert in my country after war ended. They came literally 3 weaks after ending of war in prime of their popularity. The concert was amazing and members behaved like we are "normal" country without fear or prejudices. I just can't describe how enormously my people are thankful to Prodigy for that greatness. After 4 years of suffering and horribleness, that concert was the most beautiful thing that happened to Serbian people. It was so huge that even we younger generations who even wasn't born at that time, know about it.

    Tearing up as I watch these videos. My mum, who was an old school raver also hung herself a year ago. She was 49, just like Keith. They died a month a part. She gave me music for the jilted when I was just 13. Didn't know what to make of it haha. Like Keith she was a free spirited and sensitive soul. He expressed himself via music, her art. She became well known for painting UV backdrops for clubs around the country in the 90s. Her crowing glory was having a feature written on her in MixMag. She was buzzing that people were appreciating her mad tapestries and dreamscapes. She found spiritual liberty within the rave scene. Halcyon, on and on.
    It breaks my heart to see such unique and passionate lives lost. Although, for many, after the true rave years ended it was hard to find peace with the universe.
    Much love, and RIP xx

    For those who doesn't know. This masterpiece track / work as well as Prodigy's music at that time back, was totally made by only using analog equipment and stufff. Which needs a lot of skill to make everything sounds so smooth in harmony, in mixing and in mastering in the production final step.
    Liam started with the Ronald W-30, then U-220, TR-909, Jupiter-8. And in an age under 18. He is such a rare talent out there, who was able to provide us such a masterpiece music back then, which even in our days now give us eargasm.

Nothing made me tougher or stronger. With the style of course. Liams music was everything for me when I was 16 and am still living Prodigy lifestyle. Nobody entered the history of music like they did. Liam, Leeroy, Keith and Maxim, thank you for making me life beautiful.

    When Prodigy first came to Romania it was '95, the country was still waking up from communism, and I was 15. I had to go to see them, it was a full long day of waiting in a crowd with cops on horses hitting on us and glass bottles flying over our heads, but we were alive and it was the first time we could see foreigners from eastern Europe who attended the concert, and their hair styles were amazing, we were mesmerized by how cool their leopard hair looked :)
    And then we finally made it inside, where it was the first time in my life hearing bass, and it wasn't even Prodigy, just some random DJ. When the show started, the bass was so loud that my hair was electric and my stomach was pounded by this awesome force. It was incredible. The show was truly amazing, I went to many shows after, but it was never like that first Prodigy.
    We actually survived the night (being 15 :)) and we walked home with no hearing from the loudness of the music, and we were ecstatic. It was an honor to attend that night

    You can't top this track today. It's timeless. Cause back in the 90s you had to work hard to listen to it, buy the cd or the cassette or go to the club and get drunk and dance like you didn't give a damn about anything.
    Now everything is easier but that makes it boring. You have everything in the palm of your hand with the push of a button. That makes some things lose their value. Now people don't dance that much, it's cheesy or embarrassing they say. They don't flirt much, it's insulting or harassment. They don't communicate or interact with each other unless it's electronically. They are missing out on all the true and fun things in life. And their life will go by so fast because they're always looking at a screen instead of actually living it. Myself included of course.
    The 80s and the 90s were the best decades for teenagers and young people all around the world. Techno trance metal RnB everything! Now 90% of teens listen to generic mainstream pop.
    That's why the movies the soundtracks the music of the 80s and the 90s are still being played today and are recognisable by the whole planet no matter what age.
    Now, where are those headphones, I need to crank up the volume and go back to those good times..
    Edit: RIP Keith.

      Wrong ! it's just that the underground is now more and more underground ! In the 90's underground shit were on TV and Radio, now you have to search and search but they exist ! I live in Paris and we have some real dope (catacombe rave party as an exemple)

    • @MrVidification
      @MrVidification 9 років тому +46

      Garine ivan
      If it's on TV and in the mainstream, then it's not underground. The Prodigy were mainstream in the 90s with Jilted Generation, the rave scene was massive at the time and they were considered part of it-even their debut was well received by major critics and given support in 92.
      I know what you mean now, music is worse now than ever. Only the biggest stations will play anything new. Local radio and tv plays the hits on a loop, or whatever a record company wants to push unto the public,old or new. I doubt many new acts today are chosen out of underground success either. All I see in the pop chart are now singers related to the wealthy with links to the music industry, or already famous, that all know that money talks
      There are few good music tv channels any more. The last time I heard, music television changed its name to MTV and eventually started playing reality shows. The M used to stand for music. Obviously most people listen to mainstream pop even if no one here does, as it wouldn't be called mainstream otherwise.
      The worst thing today is people have forgotten how to dance. The biggest joke of all is watching live rock and dance concerts, no jumping or dancing around, just kids holding up mobile phones trying to record the whole event instead of enjoying themselves. Truly a pirate generation LOL

      @attilasedon9593 9 років тому +18

      Sorry for the long post!
      I don't think Music will be less valuable, because you have to go and buy a casette, you have to work for it, I think It's much better that we have the variety, we have the chance to chose what we like, what is our style, what fits us, we can select our favourite band. I mean I never would've thought I would like nearly every musical style (only genres I dislike: rap/hiphop, techno,trance, hardtechno, and I couldn't really find any great breakbeat.). And really think about that, if we were in the 90s and the radio and television would only broadcast generic mainstream or "old but goodie", what would all be listening to, yep only to those two things. (I think when I first listened to electronic music I was 15, and that's because I was living in small village somewhere in the middle of nowhere, maybe even beyond that. That's because I've started using internet to explore new things not just playing games.)
      About Desocialization caused by the internet, yeah that's a real problem in my opinion, but maybe a generation following us will have more understanding of how they should use the vast opportunities lying within the Internet. They were born into this new type of socialization, and we just learned how to hit an old "haven't-seen-in-a-long-time" friends with a birthday wish, or a funny link.
      And yet I'm sharing my opinion about music on a wall where a lot of stranger can read it, crticise it, or start bashing it, or simply write a similar opinion, from the other side of the world. While listening the same song...
      Music scene has changed, yes. Let's face it Prodigy, Daft Punk, Dave Brubeck, AC/DC, Rush, Thelonius Monk, Whitney Houston, Ennio Morricone, James Brown,, and we can sit here and start saying great musicians all day/night long. They were/are all wonderous, some of them revolutionalized music, some of them still has new tricks up there slaves, many idolize them, love them, But they were kings only in an Era bygone. They surfed the waves and they're still on the top, but they're not the ones represents 21th century, nor these new generic pop musicians, who will be forgotten in 5 years time. (believe me or not, in the 20th century in our "golden age" of music there were a lot of "produced" popstar, they just have been forgotten)
      The new generation of great artist are not on the television anymore (because the television became obsolete), instead they moved to the internet.They are on youtube, soundcloud, what not, they offer a variety of great music. Some of them inspired by the great old names, few of them actually try to find (or make) a new frontier in music.If you want I can give you a few links if you'd like to hear what I'm talking. And here lies the problem, most of them don't have much support, only a few distributors, who help themshow ther music to the world.
      I just had to get it out of my system, I'm a bit upset, that everyones is bashing "Today's music" because I still find gems made fresh that can move me like...I kinda believe you know what I'm talking about.
      And I just realized, few of them see my comment as bashing some great musician. Or attract some Grammar Nazis, because I speak Globish, not the Queen's bloody English...

      This is still a rave anthem yes you're but if you want THE ORIGINAL rave anthem but in my opinion simply slap on Everybody In The Place and that's my Prodigy rave anthem.

    Its consistently brilliant because the composition was created by a real musician, someone who truly understands the laws of sound.

    Prodigy, Bomfunk MC's and other 90's groups were the starters of the current house music. They were ahead of the time, out of this world. I am 42 now and I miss the 90's music compared to the crap music today.
