1996 I took my first hit of acid and pure mdma at the same time, this was one of the tracks I remember the most from that first experience. I was 14 years old at my first rave in Fort Lauderdale. Ended up on the dance floor absolutely going nuts for hours. For the next 7 years I was absolutely hooked! This original techno music is really what got me hooked! The raves back then were absolutely incredible! No phones, no cameras, just pure absolute bonkers fun! Everyone rolling face, dancing, hugging, massaging, can’t believe we were having that much fun at 14-21!
For real, then cannabis was squidgy and solid s.h.i. too right ✅️ get up and downers to the beat of pure E's and weed! Re.unuzion all them times and be real true and happy all and I hope your all having it large, after all. 3:43 😅
A few years back now, I was out for the night in Birmingham city centre. We were in a bar on Broad St, and The Prodigy had played that night at the Indoor Arena close by. The bar was already busy, but filled to bursting point after the gig had finished. The DJ clearly noticed, and at the perfect moment dropped about six Prodigy numbers on the bounce, and the place went off the dial. We'd seen them the night before, and it was brilliant to feel the energy from their gig return again the next night. I was (a few years later) lucky enough to be in a hotel where the band were stopping whilst performing at V Festival, and met Keith. He was the most approachable person, and had a very sweet, gentle nature to him. I hope he's at peace now, and am grateful I got the chance to meet him and say thanks for all the good times he's given me. Miss you Keith x
My grandad bought me this album for Xmas when it came out, he kept saying "pay close attention" in his Scottish accent, fooking gutted, my childhood right here. RIP xxxx

I need to get some bigger speakers so I can feel that bass in my chest again. I dont remember too much from the 90's as i was mashed, but i do remember the music. Thanks Prodigy. RIP Keith.
90's the best decade of them all. Of all the cultures to come out of England, dance culture, rave and of course ecstasy was the most influential. All the old punks, skinheads, metal heads, football hooligans it snared them all and changed their lives.

I remember that I saw this video on MTV when it was released and I thought what the hell is this 😀. But it etched into my brain and soon I listened to The Prodigy almost every day and I still do. I can´t come up with a band or artist that has affected my life more than this band, it´s pure magic.
I only remember it hearing it for the first time on the radio in the nineties, being a 9 yo kid or so. Had no idea what was going to happen with the start and instantly hit that record button on the cassetterecorder. And I would not be disappointed... This was just totally different than all the other stuff they used to play (and pity to say, I think that regular radiostations today all play the same shite and hardly ever dare to go out of the regular playlist)
This sounded the absolute nuts when I first heard it 1992 aged 18 and that video genuinely looked alot of fun. Just 4 geezers having a laugh and not really taking themselves too seriously. They probably would never have even dreamed that they'd still be popular and massive worldwide several albums and nearly 30 years later after their first stage appearance at Labyrinth in 1991. I saw the making of this in Electronic Punks and it's on you tube. Keith completely decked out in silly but not too serious rave clobber, yellow marigolds and dust mask complete with tub of Vicks attached to it.....pulls a funny gurning face and goes 'Ohh I think I'm coming up again! These ones creep up on ya!!!' Lol I was 18 when this came out in the amazing year that was 1992.....I turn 45 this coming Saturday. This track still sounds the nuts now some 27 years later. I sincerely hope Keith along with his brain has reached that other dimension and finding that other race up there in outta space. He along with the other lads were 'one of us'.....A raver,a punk and a warrior all rolled into one and he never forgot or was afraid to acknowledge his roots and forget about those who put him and the others where they are today and didn't allow the fortune or fame to go to their heads and all have remained humble and down to earth. You are already missed. RIEP KEITH FLINT
@Big Street Reppin Original 90's Raver right here mate. Fantastic times.....great memories......could a 3rd Summer of Love ever happen again??? I doubt it. Would be nice though.
@@Tambourina8 To sum it all up and what raving means to many of us and what The Prodigy ment to us. I must mention that I attended our Keefs farewell and final journey recently. From the moment we all met up at Liverpool Street station and stepped on to that Braintree bound train on what was the most gorgeous sunny, bright and pleasantly warm day. (I called it Keefs Love Train because end to end every carriage was filled with friendly bubbly ravers and warriors all in Prodigy garms and the odd large ant flags) Was the start of many group selfies, hugs, jokes, laughter and 'strangers that were just friends we hadn't met yet'. Raving and being a raver far extends much further and deeper than getting battered constantly and consuming a shit load of recreational drugs....or more so in modern times desparately searching for that gram of sniff as if you're life really depends on it....(but they do help especially a double drop of Ecstacy or a gram of Mandy!!!) .....not to mention getting blindly drunk and pissed up constantly. What a f*cking waste. It goes way way way beyond that in my heart and in my eyes. Raving for me since the 90's raised my consciousness regarding society, humanity and what ugliness and crap goes on in and around it. It made me see how politics so often divides us and how corrupt and greedy the elite and politicians are and how very good they are at pulling the wool over our eyes and get us fighting amongst ourselves. Since that day especially on the glorious sunny days like today I've been thinking 'I really wanna be back there in Braintree' dancing with that amount of mixed and varied people, young, old, original ravers and younger ravers, goths, punks,a few old locals and kids. Even toddlers on shoulders, black, white and every other skin tone inbetween.....I will never forget the lovely sight of a 2 year on her dads shoulders probably not even able to use a knife and fork properly yet.....perfectly doing the 'Big Fish Little Fish Cardboard Box' absolutely having the time of her life bless her. I uttered the words quietly to many on that day both before and after Keith's funeral.....words like 'mini revolution' and 'Third Summer of love' not to mention expressing to many including the Essex police who were also enjoying the banter and atmosphere how sick and tired we're all becoming with all the bullshit politics/Brex-shit and division and confusion sweeping across the UK right now. Even they are unsure of their jobs right now. (It was Essex Police incidently who helped the UK's very first 'legal' licensed all night party....RAINDANCE happen back in 1990 under a huge tent in a field (Jenkins Lane) near Barking which then kick started your Labyrinths,Fantazia's,Obsessions, Dreamscapes,Helter Skelters and World Dances etc......and provided The Prodigy with their very first gigs and the creation of the very first 'What Evil Lurks' EP and Prodigy Experience album. Even in the best and most friendliest of modern day old skool raves and events nowadays the far majority of them fail to really hit the spot, touch me,give me goosebumps or give me that true universal empowering feeling I once felt back in the 90's and as that that I felt on that very special but filled with mixed emotions day. I can't describe in words what going to Braintree felt like and all the new friends and connections that I've made since be it in Braintree itself or the many Prodigy groups I've been made a member of on Facebook over the last few weeks. Keith's legacy, energy, love and ability to unite everyone still LIVES ON AND LONG MAY IT CONTINUE...... Other events and possibly a tribute festival in Keith's name are in the planning or ideas are being put forward probably as I type this........ I was down on a days pay the other week but to get that empowering, joyous, truely universal feeling once again was well worth the 80 something quid I lost out on that day. I only just last week confessed to my boss exactly whose funeral I'd gone to. He asked me how the funeral had gone and as far as he was aware it was 'an old close mate'. I kinda gave the game away when I said it had taken place in Braintree and that afterwards it had descended pretty much into a massive outdoor rave with thousands were dancing across the entire town be it in and outside the local pubs or where temporary gigantic rigs has been set up. He raised his eye brows but then smiled.....He goes 'I thought he was an old friend or mate of yours!' I said 'He WAS an old friend and mate of mine....KEEF was ALOT of people's friend and mate.......WE WAS EVERYONE'S FRIEND OR MATE IN THOSE RAVES ;)
@Big Street Reppin It's the right 'conditions' though innit I reckon. Maybe even more up in the air as far as 'politricks',division and civil unrrest are concerned right now. France is a fine example. You can feel it in the air. I personally have felt like 'piggy in the middle' in the work place,on Facebook etc. I'm pulled from left to right and right to left. That's what it's felt like. We know deep down we're all get the wool pulled over our eyes and tricked by Divide and Conquer bullshit. There's a cartoon meme I found on Facebook recently that sums it all up perfectly. Theres a sheep(I guess it depicts society and people) being lined up for the slaughter house with signs saying 'left' and 'right'. Do you go down the left walk way or the right walk way??? You can't clearly see where both walkways lead to......but BOTH actually lead to the same fate and lead straight to being slaughtered.......
RELICS92 He WAS a lot of people’s friend and mate, indeed. It all hit me really hard, as if I lost a brother, and in a way I did. You guys did amazing in Braintree! I couldn’t go and still gutted about it, but I was there with you all in spirit, and I’m so grateful that the band and all the people made more of a celebration of his extraordinary life and less of a farewell, because I’m still reluctant to say goodbye and to admit it. We had a vivid and emotional rave in Moscow recently celebrating Keef’s life where the DJs and musicians who had performed as a support at The Prodigy’s Russian shows at different times had been playing the band’s albums all night and it was one of the best and kindest atmosphere I’ve ever experienced. I completely agree with you that even now Keef continues to bring people together and lives on through it. I really, really, really hope that that idea about organizing a festival will be brought to life. The Prodigy family is an amazing and tight one, we should stick together no matter what. Keef would’ve love it for sure.

R.I.P. dude. This tune is 27 years old now and people still lose their minds when they hear it. 👍
tru story bro (y) :-)
It’s older then me 🤣 I’m 22
That’s me
And I’m only 12
Still sounds brilliant- I'm 50 and still love it!
I remember hearing this tune at a warehouse rave in Houston Texas when it was first released.
90s memories that will never fade. Damn I'd do anything to go back!!
R. I. P Keith Flint thanks for everything
I'm only really discovering The Prodigy now and realising just how brilliant they were/are, such an amazing, original, talented band! Very tragic about Keith.
Hey, me too. If you’d told me three weeks ago I’d suddenly be into the Prodigy before the end of May, I would’ve thought that was the most random unexpected shit, but here I am
I spent three days in a mobile home with Keith back in 2001 The master of the screen but the most down to earth dude ever xxx

I'm 30 my dad's 52 and I grew up listening to prodigy on banging systems. Just in that odd age group that got to grow up getting the 80s 90s music but still in tune somewhat to new stuff.
I just turned 24, feel like I was born in the wrong generation
Perhaps. Well, listen to Prodigy, get Amiga and watch demos and drive a real car (that means up to y2k, not later). Maybe you're 24 but you can still feel the vibe. Best 2 u, bro!

💪
Do you remember another track that marks you from your first experience?

Beautiful words. Thank you for writing them, it makes me cry again, but I'm truly grateful.
(I called it Keefs Love Train because end to end every carriage was filled with friendly bubbly ravers and warriors all in Prodigy garms and the odd large ant flags)
Was the start of many group selfies, hugs, jokes, laughter and 'strangers that were just friends we hadn't met yet'.
Raving and being a raver far extends much further and deeper than getting battered constantly and consuming a shit load of recreational drugs....or more so in modern times desparately searching for that gram of sniff as if you're life really depends on it....(but they do help especially a double drop of Ecstacy or a gram of Mandy!!!)
.....not to mention getting blindly drunk and pissed up constantly.
(It was Essex Police incidently who helped the UK's very first 'legal' licensed all night party....RAINDANCE happen back in 1990 under a huge tent in a field (Jenkins Lane) near Barking which then kick started your Labyrinths,Fantazia's,Obsessions,
Dreamscapes,Helter Skelters and World Dances etc......and provided The Prodigy with their very first gigs and the creation of the very first 'What Evil Lurks' EP and Prodigy Experience album.
