- In this next video in my cross country series, I ride to a real Hobbit Hole in the Shire, I mean... Tennessee countryside. This cozy, underground nook was put on AirBnB for us to spend the night in.

I enjoyed this immensely, Doodle. If I had the money I would build my own Hobbit Hole.
Fun fact - Tolkien's brother, Hilary, lived in and owned an orchard and market garden in Blackminster, in The Vale of Evesham. Hilary’s descendants still live there and run the business (his grandson and great grand kids). I live a few door down and speak to them often. They’ve built a few houses on the orchard land and have called the road to them ‘Hilary Gardens’ in his honour.
Hilary?😅
@@luisloya1120- FYI: Hilary, Leslie, Evelyn (pronounced “Eve-Lyn” for a male), Marion (John Wayne’s real name), Ashley, Dana and more are all now gender neutral but started out as primarily male names. 😃
O m G,she's so outgoing, beautiful, and friendly, and so not what one would expect of a solo riding "women" .. awesome !!
Thanks for taking us along!
I live in Tennessee and did not know this place existed. That is so cool. Thanks Doodle.
I have had a love/hate relationship with GoPros. When I switched to Insta360 I was so happy with them! The reliability is worth the switch. When I got the X2 I also got the extra warranty. My first ride the selfie stick broke and put my X2 onto the road, damaging the lens. 😢 They replaced the whole camera! After that I got the sticky lens protectors. I haven’t dropped it since.
That selfie stick was a cheap Amazon one, not the motorcycle kit from Insta360.
If the road is less than perfect the selfie stick bounces. The world is stabilized but the bike looks like a bucking bronco😮. The solution to that is attaching the stick at two points.
Thanks for sharing your hobbit experience. Now we need a Star Trek experience for the rest of us!
I'm enjoying your content. I've been touring North America by motorcycle for 35 years. I've been riding Harley dressers since I was your age. BTW I prefer dresser over the word bagger. Anyway, I really appreciate your enthusiasm, humility, and willingness to learn.
One aspect of touring I think you are missing out on is the camping side of it. I've done the motel/hotel touring and the camping touring and there's value in both. Camping gives you so many experiences that you can never get in a motel. I've camped in an authentic Native American Tepee, pitched a tent in a cypress swamp, had encounters with alligators and bears, and slept in the most beautiful landscapes in the world. Despite the animals and reptiles, I was never in real danger. Above all, when camping, I meet the most amazing people. In an evening, you can meet people, instantly become friends, and swap tales around the campfire.
I hope one day you can add a camping tour to your experiences.
All the best, and keep the shiny side up!
So, a new series of riding to unique AirBnb locations??
We'll see how they do 😜
The fire and marshmallows thing was so funny!!
Great video thank you very well done thanks for taking us along cheers to ya.
❤ I would watch your channel again. You did an awesome job!!
That tree house is awesome. The country side is spectacular. Your camera crew is epic, it just made my shopping list. Thank you for the very informative demo.
proud you can get on those trail bikes.
Bravo Doodle very cool viewing content thanks for sharing also awesome bike, blessings from New Zealand
Hi! Been watching your videos recently and absolutely adore you. I am currently working on getting my motorcycle license I am scheduled to take it August 25th. I really enjoy your honesty and vulnerability. I am 53 and never held a license. I've been riding for a little more than a year. I have likely scared the heck out of my husband at least a dozen times 😂. It is embracing the mistakes and learning from them. I have dropped my little scooters at least 15 times. It is also empowering to know we can be great at this sport. Thanks so much for your content.
Doodle and Itchy boots make me want to get a motorcycle so much!
What a delightful little tour! I'd love to visit this little park. Thanks Doodle for the preview.
Great video and funny story telling! You found the formula!! Keep the videos coming. And thanks for sharing.
Just stumbled on your channel today and have already "binged" 4 videos. I ran across the missle silo and the Hobbit house on AirBnB, so you ticked those boxes for me. The Smores fire fail was hilarious! You definately need to find a boy or girl scout back home who can teach you to build a fire.
Looking forward to watching more -- Keep them Coming!
Doods, this was great - your editing is on point! Highlights? OMG, you dancing for Cody... and the s'mores.
Great editing and sense of humor!
Mom! Mom! Doodle dropped a new video today! 🎉🎉😊😊
Thanks for the 360 camera lesson - very cool . Lovely place !!
You always put a smile on my face, Doodle! Awesome place and fun to watch. Your editing is top-notch, too.
Love the Chief O'Brien shout out, the most important person in Starfleet! And the Insta360 demo was cool, I've been considering one for a while, and now I'm sold...when I get some money.
Some friends of my mom had, well, not a hobbit hole exactly, but definitely a fully underground home. It was primarily just the window and door styles that were different. Underground homes are great at thermal efficiency, they stay nearly the same temp year round.
Thanks for introducing the crew
Just south of there, from Centerville to Hohenwald is the Tennessee Dirt Devil which has 200+ miles of public dirt roads with many beautiful and very remote areas. I ride it on my GS every weekend. Whatever you do, don’t try and do a stream crossing on S. Tatum Creek Road. The rocks have tons of algae and you’ll get stuck. Ask me how I know.
Also, if you ride the TN DD out by Linden you’ll see lots of working Quaker farms and people walking all over the place in their 1700’s outfits.
Love your video's...your very entertaining..forget the haters..stay positive as you always do...ride safe
Great production! ...and really good storytelling too! The story about Tolkien's wife got me in the feels!
This vlog was so entertaining I loved it .Thank u for ride along.
Doodle
Excellent video! I stayed there too! The owners are fantastic people and their property is off the chart. Tennessee is gorgeous! I switched over to the Insta360 One RS and the X3 also and love them. My GoPro cameras are now collecting dust. I'm so glad you are having a blast!
Ride SAFE and BE safe Doodle! 👍👍🌹
That was a very fun video! And as both a LOTR and Star Trek fan, I really enjoyed the head pat toward the Star Wars fans! 🤣
Another excellent adventure! I loved how you mixed the camera tips and the point of interest into one seamless story. Others have praised your storytelling and your editing, and I concur. Friday night dessert is popcorn and Doodle-on-a-motorcycle.
You’re always a blast to watch, Carolyn! Larry in Fort Worth
Doodle can handle anything. Except bugs. And apparently dancing to inspire! 🤣
Shatner and Pine in a dead heat followed by Stewart and Yeoh. Set phasers to stun. 🔫
I think Doodle needs a Horse adventure!!!
These new adventures are so entertaining. Thank you making this happen Doodle. Obrigado!!!
Beautiful place and countryside. Great vid!
I gotta say, seeing you sitting there eating s'mores by yourself is exactly what I would love to be doing right now 😅
Glad to see you back doodle! Keep the adventures going!
You're awesome, love your channel 👏👏👏
Hi Doodle.Totally enjoyed this.😄
I loved your video! I'm a LOTR fan, so it was wonderful. Thank you! Safe travels!
Hi Doodle on a Motorcycle, another epic and fun adventure you took us on. Thank you, ride safe & always take care🤙🏽Kenneth
Love the nerd stuff!
Always respectival thanks for such a great trip. That was really awesome and I am always riding with you behind you young lady
Marshmallows are great firestarters. Gather dry twigs or splinter the wood much thinner. That was a cool hobbit house rental.. Very interesting information.
Love the house and u 😂 thanks and greets from Belgium !
Doodle your special enough to do a movie on! Of course the release would naturally be delayed.😆
What's up DOM? Yup I thought you had a crew with you as well. That 360 is awesome. Smores over the stove is just as good, its the crackers or chocolate bar that makes the flavor. Excellent episode DOM.
Beautiful trip! Thank you for sharing.
That place is awesome! I bet it would be even better in the fall with the colors, or the winter with snow on the ground 🍁❄️
We have the same camera crew! They cost a little bit up front but do great work and you soon forget they cost anything.
Big LOTR fan here! That WAS AWESOME! Thanks for making a video in the heat! It gave me the confidence to go out and film last weekend.
It’s a lot of fun to watch you have new experiences. The wonder of it shows it’s self in your reactions. If we all lived in earth covered houses we wouldn’t need air conditioning.
I have been subscribed for quite some time now and I must say the quality of your videos continues to keep going up. Very well done on this one. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it always leaves me wanting more of your content. Looking forward to sharing your adventures in the videos to come.😊
Thanks for showing your gear
Hey Doodle! Loving the nerdier video, btw. 4:16 You answered my question! I started commenting to ask this specifically, and you answered mid comment! Thx!
No roasting, you just need some small kindling to start the fire, then add larger logs.
I ended up on your channel because I was looking for vids on the Triumph Speed Twin.
But I stayed for all the adventures like this one and the excellent editing of your videos.
That 360 cam is really interesting!
As someone who is very close to his retirement I'm looking into buying a motorcycle again (haven't riding one in 25 years). Probably something like the Triumph Speed/Street Twin or the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.
Really looking forward to be able to ride again 👍
Hi Doodles. Another very entertaining and enjoyable vid this was to watch. Thank you so much for sharing. Looks like a great place to visit. Looking forward to your next one. So in the mean time stay safe and happy cruising girl 👍😊.
Thx doodle your vids are filling my travel list lol keep up the great adventures ❤😎
Do not sell yourself short. I enjoy all of your videos.
Great video, and you are quite the dancer.
I'm A noob to your channel and your presentation style is infectious. The excitement and energy to learn and share it with us is something you should be so proud of. Thank you from the U.K
This is the coolest thing ever, I just booked a two night stay, and will be riding there from Virginia on my (new to me) 2008 Road King. Thank you!
I hope this video hits over 1mil views! What awesome content. Well done.
Amazing journey 😊
Wonderful video and very entertaining! Thanks a bunch.😀
If you are ever in Franklin, North Carolina, we could ride up to Wyah Bald!
Wonderful video as always!
Hiya Doodle! What a beautiful place & fun experience! Love your “camera crew as well😉😊! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️🏍🦋
Loved the video. I just bought a new Insta360 for rides. A side note, that first horse is not really 23 hands (1 hand = 4”) as the world’s tallest horse currently is a touch over 20 hands. Keep the videos coming.
Star Trek.. YES! : ) Engage ! I love me some space fantasy! Nice video, and a beautiful place to explore. I love the Hobbit Hole
Very awesome property and Hobbit house. Thanks for sharing.
Hello from New Zealand. Loving the vids.
Great content! I am also more Star Trek than LOTR. Still, I appreciate the lore. I love your adventures! Keep up the great video's!
90 degrees in October wow.
Looks like incredible fun, Doodle!
What a cool little place to stay, and I'm jealous of the heat there as I'm in the middle of winter, and freezing my butt off.
With your camera, I've got the INSTA 360 ONE RS with the motorbike mount. I just got home from a 130 mile ride, at speeds up to 80ishMPH without drama. My usual commute is usually around 40 minutes each way at highway speeds and I always have the camera on, so you can rest assured that your camera will be safe even at highway speeds. Keep up the good work.
Trekkies are explorers :) Those 360 cameras are amazing
Hi Caroline, what a wonderful video showcasing your adventure with The Hobbit. Very well edited. Plus, you got to do something new in life, pet a horse. Can’t wait for your next filming. Cheers ✌️🏍️💜
Awesome! I was wondering about those farther video shots. Now I know.
I love these types of videos
awww, doodle had trouble starting a fire. Looked like a cool place. I like the idea you search out the most unique/strange Air BnB's.
Really cool place to stay. Thanks for sharing about the insta 360 camera
You were near a road where I frequently ride. TN 438 from near Centerville to TN 13 near Lobelville is a glorious 19 mile stretch. You can pick up 438 again and ride towards the Tennessee River. Blessings.
Your videos get better and better Doddle, a hobbit hole so unique the whole place was interesting s must see , please take some dance lessons girl 😂 a missle silo saving that one for tomarrow . Thanks for the enjoyment.
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for this stop . What a wonderful place to rest up from a ride. Very nice. Great job.🎅🏼🏍🇺🇸🤗
Doodle between this and the missile silo you really like to sleep below ground ! Lol.... love your videos...
Great Tour and video watching from Australia
So the selfie stick is in one of the 2 blind spots for the two 180 degree cameras. happy to help.
You almost had that fire going. It was stacked good. Just needed more paper haha.
Wow a hobbit spent the night in a hobbit house. 😂😂😂😂😂. Be happy that horse fly didn’t bite you.
Im surprised that you had to bend down to get thru the hobbit door! 😂😂
That tells you how small it is! 😊
So cool. That place looked amazing.
That’s effin awesome!!!
Oh Doodle, so glad for you to to go to all these great places. kinda lost interest on my page editing problems with the 360 UGH. When i figure it out I'll try again. Enjoy following though.
That's so cool! You're really making me want to go visit some of these places. This place, the missle silo, Barber Motorsports museum. I think I'll need to get a bigger/better touring bike, though.
Quick shout-out to Cody, hope you're doing great, always good to see you once in awhile in the posts. Carolyn and team doodle, you've created a very entertaining and informative video, Excellent job! Thanks for sharing your adventures. Please tell us all what happened in the vid where you had something covered in your hands as you stepped outside the hobbit hole, closed the door , and we hear you let out a little shriek and the sound of something dropping....😂
Wanted to stay there, but the price. OMG. Thanks for sharing it. We'll find a hotel instead.
