- A pistol I’ve wanted for many years and was now able to buy since we moved from CA to TX three months ago. The Commander length pistols are my guns if choice since you can come up on target a bit quicker than with a 5” pistol.
I left CA behind. I now have freedom in AL.
I’m in CA and I feel your pain. That commander looks pretty sweet. Especially in 9mm I had to have a 45 rebuilt into a 9mm because of CA BS.
How do you change a 1911 from .45 to 9mm, besides changing the barrel and magazine?
Welcome 🙏 to Texas ❤️
Great gun, welcome to Texas. We have very strict gun control in Texas. You have to hit what you are aiming at!! I have the colt xse in .45. I had to add a wilson front checkering. I like that kind of grip on all my 1911's. Strange thing about 1911 owners - we get one and start putting wilson combat parts on them.
Thanks hope you are doing well. Also enjoyed the car videos too.
And, you as well! We finally got the hell out of CA and now live in the wonderful state of Texas........much, much, different particularly when it comes to firearms ownership. We had a custom home built in Georgetown, TX and this will probably be our very last move based on our ages. Except for all of the limitations because of COVID-19, we having a great time exploring all the small towns of Texas. I hope you and your family are well. Stay well and safe.
@@18echosf ok. Good to hear. CA seems like it’s getting worse as far as natural disasters and political problems with liberals in charge. Stay safe
Those mags are the best.
How does this current bluing hold up? Especially with holstering and ongoing shooting practice?
❤❤❤
I want to get this model for edc and my concern is if the blue finish will wear off due to sweating on it .
If need be, bluing can always be reapplied. For me, guns are just tools and I don’t really worry about the cosmetics or how they wear.........only that they go “bang” when needed. It’s a great pistol and I’ve now owned one in 9mm, as well as .45. P.S. The pistol is in short supply and I had to order mine from a dealer in NJ and I paid a pretty hefty premium. However.......it’s well worth it!
I want one where did you buy it?
Hagues Distribution in Pittsgrove, NJ.
1911 are available in parts. But 1911s & Porsche; what else do you need.
That colt combat commander you have is not the original colt combat commander
Your thumb safety is not fit perfectly, nothing wrong with it , other than its an assembly line gun . Look at the wilson low lever tactical TS . Or take it to a COMPONENT gunsmith, he or she can modify your stock lever and fit it properly so you have that little snick on and off . Great weapon BTW. P. S. Personally like the way the WC safety works in the gun better than the colt TS
Glad to read that you moved out of that idiotic (gun-wise) state of CA.
Just remember why you left California , and don’t vote here like a Californian votes. Seems like people move out of California then vote for the same shit they ran away from.
Blah, blah, blah …
I got 2 words for you bro : Sig P226
Or one: shit
@@jadslash what ?
straight up the P226 is thee worst handgun ive ever owned, shot and owned over 10+ handguns, none as atrociously inaccurate as the sig P226.
@@n.b.8616 ive had the exact opposite experience . both of my p226 pistols that were made in west germany are the most reliable and accurate pistols that i have ever owned.
