Nice look at a pristine classic. Thanks for sharing. The first 1911 I bought after returning from Vietnam was a Colt Lightweight Commander in ,45ACP. I paid $111 for it in 1972. I still have it, along with the original box, but my Colt shows the “character marks” of having been carried off duty for many years. I put it up against a Colt Wiley Clapp Commander in Part 8 of my Great Affordable 1911 Series.
+Rider’s-Range that is very cool that you still have your Colt LW C. Thank you for your Service sir. Thanks for watching and cheers!
I don’t have as many lightweight commanders as I used to, but I still have a few. They don’t get as much carry time as they used, but they are a great design. Thanks so much for sharing! 👍👍👍👍
Thank you for watching!
Simply stunning. The bluing looks like the old Colt Python blue.
That’s exactly what it looks like. Good eye. Thank you very much for watching.

It sure is. The video does not do the finish any justice. It is superb in person. Thank you very much for watching.
I have a 1952 model, in 45. Pristine shape like this one, and actually same grips. They've spiked in value, btw. Nice classic.
They are beautiful. Thank you very much for stopping by.
Thats a commander hammer, not spur.
Thank you very much. Learning a lot from you today.
Have a ? Does the barrel have the colt letteres or only 9mm luger?
CAL 9mm Luger is what’s on the barrel.
The barrel length is 4.25, do your research. I HAVE 3 COMMANDERS. maybe I'll do one of mine.
Congratulations on your three commanders. I do my research on every video that I film. If the source that I used was incorrect, then thank you very much for correcting me. I look forward to seeing your video. Thank you for watching.
Its a ring hammer, not spurred. But great video otherwise and informative. Thanks.
Too bad it doesn't have the original plastic grips with it.
