- Made with the same level of quality and attention to detail as our Japanese classics but trading San Mai® for premium American CPM 3-V powdered super steel. The CPM 3-V Magnum Tanto II features a highly wear-resistant DLC (diamond like) coating, and honed to a screamingly sharp edge.

The balance of this knife is amazing
I appreciate how cold steel offers top quality 3V blades at a very affordable price point. You guys make the knife world better, thank you.
I bought this and also mtech clone.. this handle is super comfortable and the feel is amazing
.
Lynn speaks knowledge so fluently and designs the most fearsome knives out. He will be missed in the industry for sure.
You make it sound like Lynn Thompson just died. lol
Just sayin.
@@anderseckstrand7033 yea thats kind of what i thought but wasnt sure how else to say it. We all deserve to retire, but he was really one of a kind!
he is not going anywhere
Cold Steel knives in 3V? It doesn't get any better than that!!
Knocking it out of the park, again Lynn!
Picked up my SAN MAI VG-10 SRK tonight
Cold steel is a company that makes tools and weapons we can all afford and trust I have carried a cold steel spartan for 5 years now
First Comment, First like :)
Really omg
Bring back the arc angel.
love u guys!
Id like to make a suggestion, what of cold steel made a double edged tanto.
Hey why was the cold steel recon tanto cpm-3v discontinued? Do you have any thoughts? I really want to buy one but theyre harder to find now. I read some reviews that said the DLC coating wasnt great, what that the reason for discontinuing? I want 3v steel not san mai for the recon tanto... Please let me know (if you know) and thanks in advance!
Love that 3V steel!! Great job on that guys!!
Still rocking my recon tanto in carbon v from 92 it’s been all over the world with me I have a bunch of knives I reach for for different tasks but when it’s ugly it’s always the faithful tuff as nails recon tanto
Cold steel. Always love it. Build like a tank. Have been using safe maker 1 for 3years as my EDC.
Keep up the good work ColdSteel👍👍
Yours knife reviews and explaining are awesome!
just heard of your company and your videos sold me on getting this exact knife. It's my very first knife purchase. I have A LOT of money invested in firearms and never really thought about knives. WOW! I am so happy. Of course I did all my research for weeks and found that cpm-3v steel is pretty much as high end as you can get with the perfect balance before you spend overkill amounts of money on other steels. Your company has made this extremely high quality all around knife for a really affordable price. THANK YOU! Please keep doing what you're doing. I will be purchasing all my knives from you going forward!
On my wish list.
I don't have this one but soon I will. This has been a dream of mine for many years.
Maybe a bit too much hyperbole here, but this is one of the finest knives on the market nonetheless.
3V steel, DLC coating, Cold Steel's decades of experience making top quality products, and this at a very affordable price compared to anything else with similar specs. I prefer the 12" version, if you're going to kill something with a knife you want it dead as fast as possible.
The real question is whether to get the Warcraft or Master Tanto?
Intelligent design Mr. Thompson.
Amazing job Cold Steel!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Chris is the Showman that MADE Cold Steel what is was. He put some real gems on the market.
Amazing knife reviews!!!
Expert
Thanks for the flex test. Looks like it beats the San Mai steel, by at least 10 degrees. Very Impressive, given the increased hardness.
Seems like the perfect SWAT fixed blade
I think I may have to put my Bowie knife in the back of the safe.
Lynn, I have to say I am liking your new approach and all the new videos. I love my cold steel knives. I have all kinds of blades from all price points. Your blades are by far the best value and are way more durable that just about anything out there. My favorites are the Rajah 1 one of my EDC carry knives and the Konjo series I still have a Konjo II. I have many more. My next will be the Tai Pan 3-V... love that blade... All the best brother...
Super I love this knife
Is this or does it do the same as the original magnum tanto ii?
I have got one and it truly is a beast... I also have a bark river grizzly in cpm3 v!!!! Supersteel both. Gr eddy d
You’re one of the lucky few who has a Bark River Grizzly!!!
Congratulations man, that’s literally in my top 5 SHTF knives of all time.
I cannot, for the life of me, understand why Bark River doesn’t do another run of the Bark River Grizzlies. It’s one of their best selling knives. I was lucky enough to snag one in a black and green canvas micarta handle! 👌
Price??
My favourite channl
Lynn Thompson would be the best boss
Sucks that Lynn got paid a handsome sum for CS but glad they got sold. Now maybe CS will have quality control...
can you make one with a convex blade like the san mai trailmaster?
Have you considered buying from Fallkniven or Bark River?
Both of those companies are known for their convex edges. Fallkniven even uses laminated steels like Cold Steel.
I recommend you at least check those two manufacturers out. 👍

Yes I have the falkniven tor. Beautiful knife.
I ve just oreder one the IX
Would love to see a more in-depth video on the Warcraft Tanto series in this style, the last video didn't explain the design differences between the classic and Warcraft tanto designs. I've assumed the Warcraft is wider to cut more like a Bowie, but it would be great to see the official design explanation.
Nice
Why have you (apparently) abandoned your Warcraft Tanto (3V) 12"? Such an AWESOME piece of equipment, and I can't seem to find it anywhere?
can ya do one of these videos about the survival edge?
"Car paint rubbed off onto knife"
Now that's one hell of a badass coating
Hey does anyone know why the cold steel recon tanto cpm-3v discontinued? Do you have any thoughts? I really want to buy one but theyre harder to find now. I read some reviews that said the DLC coating wasnt great, what that the reason for discontinuing? I want 3v steel not san mai for the recon tanto... Please let me know (if you know) and thanks in advance!
It's going to replaced with uncoated 3V version.
@@TheFearlessWill thank you for the input! Is there a reason why theyre uncoating now? I noticed this with the SRK version as well. I thought 3v steel can have corrosion issues so wouldnt the DLC be good to keep? Anyways thnx for your answer and help!
Since Cold Steel was made in Taiwan , Is it lost in quality comparing to japan made ?
Question: Is the Magnum Tanto IX as balanced as the II?
why would it be? it is the same knife with longer blade.
Bad ass
This or the warcraft? Experiences?
Amazing knife! I really need one :)
Will it be available in EU soon?
Has already been available in europe for about 2 years.
@@TheFearlessWill 😲
I've never seen it around 😫
Tanto point is from China, Japan adopted it in Tang Dynasty , learned the heat treatment techniques and made their Katana!
Yes the Tang dao was tanto style , of cos USA will disavowed .
You mean the Chinese actually have their own intellectual property? 😂
some people locked keys in car, asked me to break their window, stabbed the knife through the window.
make a patu or atlatl or sheperds sling
Was up
1st from indonesia
Knife love coming to you from the United States 🇺🇸 ✌️
Hola
💪💪💪💪👍
You did the magnum tanto two cause you know they messed up on the master tanto shame
How did they mess up?
@@DoukNoukum They didn't mess up, the Master Tanto is awesome. Not to mention its the base model in the Fixed blade Tanto series. Cold steel...Mess up!? yeah right.
El chichillito
I've always wanted a 3v knife but I'd never be able to afford one. just wishful thinking.
Are they expensive in your country? Because if you buy it in the US, you'll get a lots of bargain prices
Gunfighter Tactical I live in Arkansas. I just don't make the kind of money to buy really expensive knives.
@@vegetakijohnson4792 Sorry to hear that, I myself have struggles when it comes to buying super steel knives as well, for instance the Magnum Tanto Ⅱ costs around $290 in my country, my income is moderate, it's the price that holds me back, so I really hope one day our circumstances can take a turn for the better.
Gunfighter Tactical that my friend would be amazing. cold steel would be running out of 3v if that ever were to happen! 😂
You can get a good knife at a low cost it doesn't have to be3v.They make some good knives that will serve you well
:)
Their knives are absolutely stunning but I hate this Plastic cover it's the most disgusting and most uncomfortable crap I have ever seen. I have seven different Cold Steel myself, all of them the more expensive ones higher quality Steel
