I watched another UA-cam video that helped a bit, but yours showed the correct orientation of the ribbon cable. Mine was an 09, and the other video was a 15 model. Needless to say, I had to rip the whole thing down, stumbled across your video and was able to fix it properly. Thank you!
Thank you! I followed each step just as you described for my 2014 model using the same part you link to from Amazon and it worked perfectly! The trim removal tools were very helpful too and worth the 5 or 6 bucks.
Hi...this is great! Question??? my rear 2 monitor works great, but my rear 1 monitor doesn't come on at all. do I still need to take both of them down or can I just pull the rear 1 off/out?
The whole center comes down with both. You won’t need to fix the rear 2, just rear 1. Although it might be worth replacing the cable on rear 2 while it’s out. If rear 1 is broke rear 2 might not be far behind.
I did all this and ordered the new cable, but it still didn't work. Aside from the possibility of reinstalling the cable incorrectly, any other ideas what it could be? Could the black cable be to blame?
My '14 T&C only has a DVD player. Which cable do I use? The Amazon link says the DVD cable is only for '07-'12, and the blu-ray/HD cable link says it won't work with DVD.
I purchased a used 2013 Touring L and the front screen is out do you think it's smart to replace both ribbons even though the rear one works since I will have the unit down anyway? Also would it be helpful to reinforce the area (with some tape) where these ribbon cables go bad when installing the new one?
Hey I took my unit out and the ribbon cable was kinked in a few spots. I replaced it and it still didn't work. I tried orienting the cable the opposite direction and it still didn't work. I can see the lights on the player but the screen is black. Any ideas?
Did you disconnect the battery when doing this? I've been hearing bad reports of getting security issues and then having to go to the dealership in the end to get the security code cleared.
I removed the screw and the top isn't "just coming off" is it hard to get it off, I'm worried I'm going to break it trying to pry it off. It keeps snapping down back into place...I have the new ribbon wire but can't get at it

No problem at all. Glad it was helpful!

Thanks. It worked and I only had two screws left over at the end! 😂

Great walk through. Had this problem on my '14 T&C and I followed this step by step and it fixed the problem. Thanks!
Glad to hear that! 👍🏼
Which ribbon did you use? I have a '14 T&C as well, but with DVD. The ribbon in the link for the DVD system says it's for '07-'12 though.
Thanks for the video. You saves me a lot of time, headaches and money. I replaced the ribbon like you suggested and wallah! Good to go.
Glad to hear it! 👍🏼
Great video! Fixed one in a 2016 Grand Caravan!

Did you figure it out? I just ordered the white one but mine also has a black one and I can’t find a replacement
Thank you so very much for the detailed pictures…
👍🏼
Do you need to disconnect the car battery before you start? I want to make sure before I start
Wouldn’t hurt anything but I did not.
Thanks for putting this video up. I have the same issue on a 2013 and I think they are close enough the same that it will work for me too.
No problem. 👍🏼
Did it work?

Can you list the size screws and bolts?
I have started doing that in recent videos.
Well, I replaced the cable...making sure it was correctly seated. It didn't work.
Hey we did all this and it didnt work any suggestions
Great Video!
Thanks!
What's the cost to install 14 T&C
Thanks... here's hoping this is the problem on my 2013 town and country
Good luck to you. 🍀👍🏼

I had had the same problem. Turns out there was a barcode sticker covering a screw. Once I removed that it popped right off.
I replaced the ribbon cable and screen is still black. Pretty sure I followed to a t, any other suggestions?
There's a good chance the ribbon isn't directly seated in the port. If it's off even slightly, no connection unfortunately.
I have a 2018. Will your link for the ribbon cable be the same for a 2018?
I don’t think so. But I’m not 100% sure.
Good video
Thanks!
😅 sounds complicated
Easier than a timing belt lol
