I'm glad the law on domestic violence in most states has changed since these episodes were filmed. Regardless of whether a victim wishes to press charges, law enforcement agents can now arrest the suspected perpetrator if they feel a crime has been committed. That's far better than relying on a terrified victim to summon the courage to ask for charges to be brought against their abuser.
Most States now go by the state law where they charge people now without a witness if there's any type of marks bruises or anything they get arrested & Charged which i think is way better The Law needs to take this stuff more serious
I'm just saying, i think it was better when the police knew everyone in the neighborhood.. can't tell you how many times they took me home instead of the precinct 😅knowing my grandma was gonna fan my butt🤣👌

Sorry to hear that. 😓 Thank you for posting the link. Edit: Read the article. Zappala was a Marine (as he mentioned in this episode) and a Vietnam veteran.
I worked under him in the 1st District, he was brilliant and utterly dedicated. In this video he was a Sgt. when he stopped a carjacking suspect when most bosses would have nothing to do with such a thing. I took an arrest report to him when I was a rookie and he went through the whole thing with me, not condescending, an education. Unfortunately had he some demons, really sad. I still remember the day I heard he had killed himself, I could not believe it. He was a guy you wanted on your side.
Spending his time giving away cars, vacations, and more...to people who come on down. That one officer in the third segment does sort of look like a younger Drew.
I've watched over 500 body cam vids from recent years and NEVER ONCE did I see a victim shake a cop's hand and say thank you like the first guy did. Different times
Multiple witnesses said she was threatening with a knife, then they found a knife. Seemed they were there before too and knew the people. My ex continually gets locked up for screaming at cops after they show up because someone called about her screaming and fighting. In any domestic situation you're best move is to keep cool because that's how the innocent victim would act. If you're mouthing off after theyre called to your house it's not going to end well
I can’t believe they still show this episode after she sued and won. I’m her granddaughter, this whole cops video is a lie. Neighbor had been kicked out and still causing problems. Her rights were def violated.
@@gloriatorres7836 her rights were violated there was no reasonable articulable suspicion of a crime committed just hearsay no injury at all the officers were not given permission to enter nor did they have to ID her so that lawsuit was applicable and justified. This was the era of policing before body cameras things have changed dramatically.

I always liked the episodes with Nate Oliver and Robert Dunn, both of these officers seem to have a great sense of humor.
Agreed. Great cops

Very sad to hear about Jeff Zappalla's death, he did strike me as a bit hot headed when dealing with the suspects.

Sad to hear. He was 100% correct about the CPD.
