  • A totally new story from Dane Cook. The funniest stand-up show I've ever seen was at the Punchline in Atlanta round 1999, he did a bit about the Price is Right that was as I said in the beginning of this interview Hilarious.

    You may consider this guy "worst comedian ever" but to date, he has more money then everyone on this feed put together - fact! And this is all, because he tells jokes.

    I personally enjoy him because he's such a great performer. For me, stand up is more than just the jokes, it's also about the delivery. Look, Louis CK is funny... but he just lacks the energy that could make his jokes funnier IN MY OPINION. I know Dane Cook technically doesn't tell a lot of jokes, but his performances are always engaging and fun and just so much more interesting to me.

    I admit I used to be a Dane Cook hater. After doing comedy for a while, I now know how good he is and how hard it is do do what he does. He's not my favorite comic, but he has tons of fans and that is one fucking hell of an accomplishment. Anyone who calls him a douche for being successful is a huge douche who is scared to make something of themselves.

    Dane is allright. He is a bit improv, with really excellent timing. You can see he spent time doing sports growing up: his physical ability is tight, precise, and enegetic.
    He could use some writing, because there is a sense he lacks a critical edge that people like Carlin and Hicks and Stanhope have.
    I think he makes poor choices in scripts as well. He needs a lot of support, but otherwise, he is a exellent performer.

    Really? I still use words like that when I am talking on MSN, "adamb". Just because a person types a certain way, that doesn't mean that they are pathetic... maybe they just get lazy, like myself, and decide to replace "you" with "u" and "your/you're" with "ur". Nothing wrong with that, man...

  • @davethehostage

    @Girlcrazy53 This video was in the related videos, and I was curious to see if Dane Cook had ever actually been funny. Perhaps the comment box is meant for people of varying opinions, and not just ones that fall under the category of "OMG IM ROFLING". And just a helpful hint, don't place something YOU said ("according to MY calculations") in quotations. Not a grammar Nazi, but I do what I can to assist the mentally handicapped.

  • @davethehostage
    @davethehostage 14 років тому

    @Girlcrazy53 I sound like an idiot because I'm "cursing"? Funny.. I seem to recall various instances in which the very person you're defending (Dane Cook) has used curse words. Interesting double standard, bro. And isn't that convenient - when somebody gives you flat out, obvious proof that your fav comedian has stolen his material from multiple other comedians, all you have to dismiss it is say "I'VE DONE MY RESEARCH AND YOU'RE WRONG".

  • @Tylendal242
    @Tylendal242 14 років тому

    I like Dane Cook. My opinion, is that the humour value of his jokes is sub-par... mediocre at best. He's got a few good ones, mainly due to his life commentary. The real secret, and his real talent, is his charisma and delivery. There's jokes that would be funny no matter how you deliver them. Dane Cook's jokes are not those jokes.
    However, anyone can tell a good joke. Dane Cook is a truly skilled comedian, because his performance and delivery is most of the humour.

    DieselDBF replied to my original comment, (which he has every right to) so I just replied to his replies. Let's keep the internet a free-speech zone and not tell people to shut up. Do we agree on that?
    Just an observation, I've noticed that the people who tell me to shut up (on YT) are *always*, from the "land of the free". I don't know why though.

    I have many friends who are way more entertaining than this guy. This guy could come to a party with any of my friends present and he couldn't say anything to keep our attention.
    Did you listen to those two anecdotes about his Dad and sports? Was that good material? Brutal. I think Dave is trying to figure out why this guy is so popular as well.

    @thecowboy3 It annoys me when people hate on him because I feel like they don't really give him a chance and they just Judge him right from the start. The funny thing is he's the one of few comedians that has actually been through a really rough time DURING his career. I hate when people fail to see how much he's been through.

    Oh yeah, Dane cook is in no way clever or witty. (I'll need to look up those comedians)
    The think that *I* personally like about Dane is the fact that he's just so ridiculously absurd.

    @XxHALOxX1951 it's actually a psychological trick to hold your focus on what he's saying, it's what makes his comedy top notch, the movement and choreography that goes with his comedy. imagine he was just standing still and telling a story, it would be dull and boring.

    @Girlcrazy53 : Actually, George Carlin, Cheech and Chong, and Sam Kinison all had rock star status. Sam Kinison actually was on stage w/rock legends and did one of the best music vids of the 80's.
