Subispeed has done it again! Great install. Thanks for this.
Nice job, guys. Now get out there and enjoy it!!!
I love the install vids!
for those of you with stock tgv, my best recommendation is to take out the tgv. I have ETS front mount with the charge pipes in the way too. I had lots of issues getting the bolt out, but getting it back in, it was just impossible, the bolt bent and stripped. I spent hours trying to dremmel that metal bit that pokes out, I tried shoving the bolt in with wd40 and engine oil and everything that can possible lube it, it would not budge. I took the tgv out and just everything went so much smoother. Dont try to take shortcuts like I did haha, you will find that its a faster process to just take the tgv out and put it back in. (I had to buy new bolts because the t40 got rounded out and would not bite anymore BE GENTLE WITH THOSE T40 BOLTS!!!)
Is it worth pulling the in-take fuel pump breaker and running the car out of gas? I've replaced an HPFP on a Mazdaspeed3 before and I'm pretty sure I remember that being the recommended procedure.
So running full E85 so E100 is safe for the wrx engine?
Looks like this procedure will work for the 2018+ crosstrek
Did you guys rotate the camshaft when installing
The T40 bolt on the side of the engine is difficult to get to… how did you do it without removing the intake adapter off the cylinder head???
Hello mate commenting all the way from england
My 2015 wrx cold start shakes for 20 to 30 mintues before it settle . Can you advise what to lool at
What is the foam insulation and steel cover for around the hpfp?
I’ve never understood that either it’s a cold place in the engine bay
Would you still need to run the Cobb ethanol sensor kit?
If you plan to have a variable amount of ethanol content, yes - this just helps the fueling keep up with the o creased volume requirement of ethanol
Why that mishimoto hose looks so nasty??
This fit to wrx 22
Do they make injectors yet for the 2015+ wrx for the e85 swap?
Not to my knowledge.
there's literally no point. the DI injectors are more than capable for e85.
Don't need to, stock injectors can handle it
We started the DI injector project in 2017 and had advanced prototypes at PRI in 2018. After a year of working on it in vehicle, including collaborating with COBB, we could not change the injector drive current controls. Unfortunately without the ability to tune the injector correctly there was no ability to release the injector to the open market. So we froze the project in February 2019. However....we recently reopened the project and are working with Motec to bring the injector to market for Motec Stand Alone ECU cars only (race cars, track only cars). We hope to have cars on race tracks this summer, depending on how COVID-19 plays out.
Essentially your stock injectors can fuel a 500hp build but the FA20 just isn’t capable, better to stop now and get an sti or do a full engine and Trans swap
So this can go on with a stock tune.. no tune needed??
The pump will operate without issue without a tune. But if you are going to E85 then you are (most likely) doing it for power. So the tune is critical. We recommend one of our dealers or a tuner that has good experience with high pressure fuel systems.
Can't you simply just do the BRZ intake manifold conversion and upgrade the low pressure fuel pump?
No, that does not yield the same results. The HPFP is the problem, not the LPFP.
@@SubiSpeed At some point the HPFP will out flow the LPFP. So we always recommend a LPFP upgrade as well, to at least a Walbro 485, which satisfies the majority of builds.
U need a tune for it ??
I believe only if you intend to run full e85-100
Does running a HPFP use more gas?
If you have a bigger faucet but don't turn the water up anymore does it use more water?
Or better yet If you have a funnel and you supply a great amount of water into it, does more come out the bottom?
Always have heard bad stuff about this and iag kit but great instal
Heard this one is legit, ibr kit is horrible apparently
@@dmkazich I've heard both are bad
@@_wrx_WHPFaDIT from who? Read nothing but good reviews for the Norstrum
There were, and in some cases still are, a lot of misunderstandings about how a HPFP upgrade works. Many tuners believe that the HPFP allows them to command higher fuel pressures for the DI injector. This is incorrect. The HPFP is a mechanical positive displacement pump. Our pump flows more fuel on each piston stroke than the stock pump. This provides higher fuel flow capacity at the same target pressures as stock. There is a mechanical pressure relief valve on the pump that bypasses when the pressure is too high, limiting the pressure provided to the fuel rail. May tuners were trying to command pressures above the bypass pressure, and then complained that the pump couldn't do it. Additionally, when commanding pressures at or above that relief pressure, the mechanical bypass actually goes down in pressure (damaging the valve). So then the pump pressure capacity is damaged. @@NostrumHP I didnt mean it to come out like it did! I meant to say I've heard mixed reviews but good install I'm going to be using the nostrum hpfp on my built block hoping next month!! I am hoping to break 500! Is there any info I could give tuner so they run it correctly?
Dang looks like rad fluid dried everywhere in there lol
Battery acid 😭
This can be use on FA20?
Zohar Modifier yes, thats the engine he was working on in the video.
@@CoffeeNo0b0514 this is DIT FA20F
im asking FA20 on Toyobaru
@@Zohar-Modifier you weren't very clear, as both are FA20 engines. This part is for the FA20DIT
@@CoffeeNo0b0514 DIT is Type F u weren't very clear...
Of cus im asking another tuner ride brz frs 86 moron ... since hes already doing it on the WRX... commmon sense ...
No offense but people in my country are smarter than avg so we get the point...
U r rite as most of the rest of the world literally are slower in relating and having above avg common sense
Zohar Modifier how about just ask exactly what you want next time.
Y the hell thats so expensive seriously 900$
First to market and a lot of R&D. Gotta recoup their money
Stock is 1800 lol
