When we were forced to have diesels as company cars, most of my colleagues chose the 4 cylinder 2 litre A6 in SE trimI went for the 2.5TDi in base trim - fewer goodies but a lovely engine. Overtaking was a breeze with all that torque.
Man i cry when i heard that sound bcs my uncle has same car and i know every part on that car i know everything about that car but he sold that bcs is can't go anymore
probably the camshaft, high milages 2.5 tdi´s (over 220.000 -250.000 km) suffer of this problem. I have an Audi A6 C5 2.5 tdi 1997 with 270.000 km and sounds exactly the same. The A-series engines (AFB, AKN, AYM, AKE) all suffer from camshaft, the main reason it´s the lack of lubrication when you start the engine. Also the A-series are really sensitive engines to low quality oils and high milage oil change. Anyway, it doesn´t sound bad, it is still able to do 100.000 kms more until the camshaft change. I´m not 100% sure if this is the problem, I have mine for just 20.000km yet and maybe it´s just like that. I hope I helped you and If you wanna ask me more questions you can contact me to my instagram profile @andonii76
@@salimbatel6571 I don´t think so, since my last comment I´ve done 15.000km and still sounds the same (the 'TAK TAK TAK TAK' sound). But definetly the camshafts is something to worry about If you don´t use a good oil and you let the car warm up for some minutes in cold weather. Once the engine heats up, it stops doing that repetitive sound. You should ask for the history of the maintenace of the car and If it was done correctly (and has no major issues) I would definetly buy it. Anyway, it´s a beautiful sound when you rev it on a highway and in the overtakes.
Best sound ever
I freaking love the way it sounds
