I've been driving this vehicle for almost two months. Once you learn how to work with the turbo lag on take off you don't have that lag and peel out issue. Also, I am gettung on average 33 mpg. The one thing I have had some difficulty with the driver seat. It's been very hard to get it set comfortably. The seat is very stiff and somewhat hard. My huaband thinks it's really comfy, but I had to get a cushion for it.

Thank you for sharing, Maryanne Miles, and we happy to hear you got used to the turbo lag. Also glad you found a solution to your concerns with the seat. Enjoy your Tiguan and thanks for watching!

I love my '19 tiguan sel premium ❤...I feel the power is good around town, but passing on the freeway, takes a bit of patience and planning...roomy interior, quiet and smooth ride, great ⛽️ gas mileage...
I think the transmission and electronic throttle, are programed, for fuel efficiency - similar to many compact cuv's...try the sport drive mode setting 😊

like your tests i've had the 2018 tiguan for 2 months now and constantly get 30mpg combined. This is alot more fuel efficient than official ratings.

This redesign does seem nicer in person than the previous Tiguan. The room seems really good, just lose the third room option. Sad to hear about the powertrain hiccups. However, the new warranty is promising for sure. Not usually a VW fan but this one seems like a decent middle of the road option.

Fantastic review, informative but no too wordy. In the market for a 2018 Tiguan SE…which come with the Drive Assist features. Wish I could have seen them explained here.

Thank you, Martha A. Stockfelt. As you alluded to, we try to balance good info for the consumer with good pacing for entertainment, so unless there's a blatant positive, negative or standout feature, we don't spend as much time on it. Happy you enjoyed our review, though, and thanks for watching!

I have an Acura with 2.3L Turbo. With the power boost you get after like 0.5 sec delay....Trust me.....it's a rocket. Plus it gets good mileage...why complain. The Pros are way more than the cons.

idk I wouldn`t put 30k on a base Tiguan, VW are values for some but at this price I`d stretch a bit & get a 4 door V8 pickup since you can negotiate your price quite a lot and they don`t lose much value over 4 yrs ownership, the real argument for these small CUV is fuel econ and trendiness I guess.
The real question is: Was it a one wheel peel? lol

so basically everything my 2013 audi q7 has except electronic parking brake... oh and the audi has 333hp engine. sad that they can't match a luxury car from 5 years ago

The entry level price means they cut somewhere, since it`s 2018 and you can`t cheat with hard plastic everywhere and drum brakes they got creative, the `revised` 2.0L is a deception I don`t get why the output (especially torque) is so low compared to let`s say a GTI... Bet it`s just a tuning state tho, or just a power delivery issue. Then, hm weird, hope CV joints replacement are cheap AF

lol you're a fool. the 2009 X5M doesn't even have bluetooth audio. And on what planet is an x5 better than a q7?

lol, your 5 year old Q7 can give the candle to an entry level Tiguan SL concratulation. But to be honest, with all extras the Tiguan beats your Q7.

Power delivery is totally fine...you seem to have never driven a turbo.
