    Thanks for the Vigor resource. Bought a complete Suncore kit for my 2003 Ford Expedition in November 2017 (approximately 10k miles ago (not my daily driver)) $1,400 for the parts only. One airstrut was bad right out of the box. Suncore replaced it, but it held up my repair for 9 days. December 2020 dryer connection failed. December of 2021 compressor failed. February 2022 airstrut just failed. Original Ford Air Ride lasted 14 years. New suncore just barely, barely, lasted 3 years before the first failure and its been down hill from there. For what its worth, I think Suncore stinks.

    Excellent video. I have a 2008 Escalade EXT. This weekend is a major drive train and suspension overhaul. Front...doing CV axles, struts (shock/spring assy) and bearing hub assy. Rear doing the air ride shocks. I ordered the Vigor 2597934. My truck has 97,000 miles and is starting to ride like shit. The front CV axles are popping and clacking like crazy. The front suspension is rough and just for good measure I am doing the bearing hub assy's. The rear, also rough. I tow trailers, large boat and an RV (travel trailer) and the truck used to detect the ass squat and kick in the air pump and lift the rear end leveling. Now the pump kicks in and it lifts a little but eventually just squats the truck to the ground. I believe it to be the air ride shocks. I will report back. Just wanted to see some videos on these Vigor shocks.

Yes it still looks like new inside and out, pearl white outside and black inside. The 6.2 has loads of power. But the shocks and CV axles are toast. Totally lost the "Cadillac ride". I just purchased a set of arnott magneride replacements for my yukon denali after the ac delco one failed. I have been emailing with someone at arnott regarding the differences and it sounds like they come from the exact same place. This is what he told me:
    There would not be any difference in the MR-3626 and GM AC/Delco shocks since they come from the same manufacturer and same place AC Delco gets them. The MR-3626 is $10 less and it has a two-year warranty whereas the GMAC Delco part (same shock only have a one year warranty.

    Great video. Been doing a lot of looking around the last 3 days. I do not want the expense of fixing and replacing suspension parts with 200k on the 08 Baby Burb. I assume vigor are oil filled with air bag accessory mounted to it for the leveling effects. Now Remember, My system is entirely shot on the Burb. Going to use RANCHO RS999928 front strut assembly which gives a 2" lift. Can i install these vigors as a standard shock installation and then adapt air lines so i can adjust air pressure to raise when towing or heavy hauling? My other option is to install GABRIEL 49155 air shocks but I really want the hydraulic effect so if air is lost my shocks don't go completely flat. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance. Keith

    • @FarmDad
      @FarmDad  2 роки тому

      I believe you could. So your burb didn't originally have air shocks? I can't remember what options came on those. Stock, these z55s adjust air pressure to level it based on payload. I would imagine so long as you have something telling it how much air to put in and a compressor, I see no reason it wouldn't work. But I personally wouldn't retrofit to an air suspension if mine didn't come factory with one because it would just be too much work and expense. Now if your burb is a air suspension, these should be direct replacement.

      If yours is a 2012 Yukon, you do not have magneride, which is z95. Yukon's didn't get it until 2015. If your Yukon is a Denali, you have z55, which is autoride, and will need the same Arnott shocks I tested in this video. I still have them on and haven't had any problems yet. 👍

    @ScarabChris 2 роки тому +1

    Ok so I installed these Vigor rear air shocks on my 2008 Escalade EXT. I also did a bunch of work on the front, struts, CV axles and bearing hub assemblies. What a difference. I didn't know how bad my Caddy was riding until now. I will make the assumption that if you want your truck to ride like it was new then change ALL the shocks at the same time. So the factory air shocks were totally gone. They would not hold pressure at all. The new Vigor shocks work perfectly. I put some weight in the bed of the truck and instantly the old factory air pump kicked in and leveled the truck perfectly and held the pressure. Before the pump would come on and run for what seemed like 10 mins but not much change in ride height. The air bladders on the new shocks stay nice and tight. Worth every penny!!!!! The only question is....how long will they last? Time will tell. Forgot to add......the old shocks were so light in weight compared to the new shocks. They were 1/2 the weight as the new ones. Maybe all the oil charge leaked out? But just holding the old and the new I could tell there was a difference.

    I liked your videos but I can't recommend Vigor air shocks. (I do have their pump but time will tell on it) My issue with the shocks was not leaking or anything like that. The top eyelet broke off while driving and almost destroyed a brand new tire when it fell over against the tire and wedged between it and the air pump housing. (And yes, everything was properly installed and torqued) The only thing that saved the tire was the inner fender liner and the fact we were able to pull over immediately. This happened under 2 weeks after installing them and less than 300 miles of usage. Looking at it, it looks like it was just poor welding at their factory. On the part of your video where you compare suncore and vigor and say that suncore is more beefy at the top is 100% right. Suncore is much closer to ACDelco/OEM in that area. I'll either be replacing these with Suncore or spending the extra money on ACDelco. In my opinion, the Vigor shocks are dangerous just because of how the top eyelet is attached. I'm just thankful it broke at low speeds in town and didn't snap off on the highway!

    • @FarmDad
      @FarmDad  11 місяців тому

      I'm sorry to hear you had that experience! Mine must have had a better weld at the top as they are still going strong. I had a really bad experience with suncore, so definitely think you should go ac Delco, if you can. Best to you.

      it's me again - i felt that my initial comment is one that begs of some justification (& maybe a little self redemption, maybe).... so...
      as for justification - I don't have any. cheap is as cheap does. I have learned in this industry that "cheap" is often actually "hella expensive" in a masked disguise. lol
      suncore never made it off of the jacks or onto the road .. majorly in part due to having seen your video. I could not, in good faith & love for my truck, put something that carries with it such a host of negative reviews & expect it to perform as i want & as i need. at the end of the day - my truck has just clocked over 300K (true) mi. on the dash & 80% of those miles are traveled on the factory, stock parts that she was built with. so I know everything is tired. not just the shocks. a POS shock + 300k old parts- didn't sound right to me. I'm lucky to be able to replace parts preventativly rather than repairatively & at the pace of my wallet.
      so yeah this is so long; I haven't a clue how to sum it up so I'll just end here for the sake of you having a life outside of reading this comment.
      I replaced with OEM stock, not aftermarket... I just went with the same ones that carried me to 300k as I know I can trust them. I rebuilt my compressor & that saved me a bit.
      but thanks again for this & saving the rest of my suspension system from a bad decision on my part.
