Yes you can simple change the towel out.
@0:31 cross contamination. You must always sanitize your hands after throwing anything away.
the PSI exam bulletin says apply it to one single subsection do they literally mean one? idk that seems weird to me
This is a older video, but either way yes she is doing it correctly they have you do different things in 3 different sections of the mannequin head.

I did my exams on the computer. In Florida we don’t have to do everything on a mannequin. At least not at from the school I attended

Will the proctor check the quadrant before we bring the hair down? Or do we bring the hair down then raise our hand to be graded?
It does not specify in the packet, but what i would suggest is put the section down after you are done, very neatly. That way you do not overlar product accross the head to the side where you will do the bleach retouch. Either way you decide to do it . I do not believe you will loose any points. What they want to see is saturation of product. No dry spots. And good sections. Good luck hope this makes sense.

When we get to chemical section.
I have everything in separate bags for highlight, Virginia retouch ect. Do I take all of those bags out during the chemical prep time ?
Also no more shampoo section right ?
It’s up to you everyone does it slightly different they give you 10 min for each section(except the highlight that is not timed) so if you need to go inside of your kit to get the bag you can .

Would we clean after they have checked the bleach retouch, or before they come and check the bleach retouch?
You always clean before you raise your hand that you are done.

Okay I see, but I’m still unsure on the virgin tint & virgin relaxer. Since she is using the same gel & tint brush, what does she clean before she raises her hand on those 2 sections? Btw Thank you for responding !!
@@vanessaflores3350 i see what you are asking, you can take 3 different containers labeled for each section with gel & 3 brushes to avoid confusion, they do not specify on how to exactly pack your kit every student kit is a little different. Try not to over think it too much i believe you know what to do .. just keep sanitation in mind and your station clean at all times. Your kit must stay closed . You will pass just relax or try to.

@@vanessaflores3350 most students use the same one throughout. And there are some that do change the cape during the haircut.
I have a question, after you’ve done shampooed your mannequin do you take off her cape when you get back to your station?
Yes you do. You will untangle hair and take cape off.

@@Stacyram no you do not have to either way hair has to be brought back down. Do as you have been shown in school. Jus make sure you saturate and have clean partings.

Does the handsanitizer have to be in each bag
No the hand sanitizer stays on your station the entire time. Please look for the videos that say “new cosmetology practical test” those are the latest ones.
I have a question and I'm having trouble to find the answer for my girlfriend. What is "systematic procedure in cosmetology".. I've searched and searched and cannot find the answer. The question is in my girlfriend's book that she's studying and we can't seem to find the answer can you please help me.
Not sure if I’ll be any help but maybe it depends on how the term is used.
Systematic is the more common word; it most often describes something that is done according to a system or method. a systematic approach to learning that involves carefully following the program's steps. Systemic describes what relates to or affects an entire system.
At this moment when you set up for the chemical service do you also take out your mannequin and stand ? Or is it this the second step
They give you 10min to set up your mannequin and prep before you actually start applying the product on the sections. They will read you in the instructions before they say you may begin.

What gel did you use for color?
You use gel. You do not use real chemicals.

You skip patch and strand test, also why you apply gel all the way from the roots until they end? In the virgin hair color we shouldn’t apply color on the roots and the ends until we done from all section’s Mid shafts
Not needed in Texas,for this part of test, also steps are done as described on candidate information bulletin for Cosmetology practical for Texas.. every student taking test should do as they have been trained in school.

Also, you can't trow things in the trash and then not sanitize. You will get minus points for that. Always, sanitize after throwing things in the trash.
Mars D how are you suppose to sanitize without pushing the nozzle down? It’s not gonna come out by you just placing you hand under neath and telling it to come out.

1:04 "They give you ten minutes, so take your time." This has to be the worse advice I have ever heard in my life. When I was practicing for my final in school, the teacher would rush the fuck out of me. They don't allow you to be precise and "take your time". They want the shit done in 5 minutes flat if you could, but they never say that to you. It's a subtle pressure that you feel, believe me.
