I am in cosmetology school now and I have for some reason REALLY been struggling with finger waves. I am going to try and do a set of finger waves tomorrow doing this technique and hope it works! 😂 This was a very informative video. well done! Our instructors always make stuff look so easy!
I've been doing fingerwaves for 30years and when I teach ppl the technique I realize most folks aren't paying full attention to the actual comb and finger placement which is what makes it seem so hard to learn...if you truly follow the instructions and the technique one can grasp this within a few hours of practice.
Did finger waves this week in cosmetology school but i could not get it😭 I will try this technique. It make alot more sense they way this is explained. Thanks for the help!
Yep this that state board finga wave rite here.an the teacher would come an pick a piece from the end an lift it up.once it was dry.it had to have that S all the way thru no straight pieces or u failed.this sis rite here did good tho!
Omg today was my 1st try at finger waves in class and today and I was doing something with my fingers but it wasn’t waving. After watching this I’m excited for class in the am to see if I can get. I sure feel better about it after this video. Awesome instructor!
Ok, she did such a great job w/details on how this is done. I wonder if it can be done on naturally curly hair with the foam, I think it will make my hair straight and set it (like, flatten it out) .... but I have to move quickly, LOL cause it will curl up --- it naturally wants to do that!!
Girl, I saw a video on UA-cam using natural hair, so of course I bought the products and was ready to go when I got home.😃 Apparently my hair wasn’t with the program, because it never looked as straight and laid as it did in the video.😩 😊 Good luck with your endeavor!
Thanks for sharing this information. I asked my stylist to do my hair this way and she said it was to long. I've determined they didn't know how to do it because I've had it done before by someone else.
The foam is a water-based so it’s going to reverse your curl. This can only be done on relaxed hair or hair that essentially is really fine and soft curls. If you have a three or four texture know. After a day or two the curl will start to revert. The best thing to do is to straighten your hair first and then you sculpting spray’s or spritz to keep it in place.
Camiicake121 Curious as to where you live. When I went to cosmetology school in the US, it only took 9 months going full time to get the required 1500 hours.
oh my goodness thank you so much for this i couldnt do it at first until i watched this. see i also couldn’t figure out how to blend it well cuz i didnt work around the head instead i worked up and down 😬🙏🏼
I start Paul mitchell in a few weeks and saw this will be taught, I’m going to keep watching this vid over and over lol Anyone who’s taken a cosmo class recommend a vid to watch to help get an idea?
Channel name is BeautyHealthTravel and the video is cosmetology: fingerwave demo for state board. I'm in Cosmo too and I'm watching vids to help me with this. I think this one is really good to watch so I recommend it. Let me know what you think.
Nice beautiful magnifique je trouve ça très jolie dit j'adore j'aimerais bien essayer ça sur mes cheveux merci pour la technique je vais essayer inchallah je trouve ça super joli merci à vous et vos conseils
She makes it look easy. These require lots of patience. These are hard to do!! I learned these in cosmetology school and my finger waves looked nothing like that
Hi! Does someone know what geld, foam she was using and how she applied it, please? :) I've seen that kind of foam a lot, but not sure what to get. Thank you!!
Wow I wish I had you as a teacher in cosmo! Hardly any explanation from my teacher and when you asked for help they seemed as confused as I was! Or just a "you did it wrong, do it again" but what is wrong with what I did? How do I fix it or do it better? No explanations! I ended up getting frustrated and flunked out
I tried cosmetology school too, way back in the 90s, but didn't apply myself and ended up quitting. I couldn't braid, fingerwave or do much of anything else, except shampoo. I felt so depressed and embarrassed when we'd get tested and everyone's mannequin was set up around the room and everyone would be done, except me. The teacher finally told me that she thought I needed to most likely go into another trade, because I didn't have talent to make it in cosmetology! That teacher had no idea how much she hurt me by saying that, but I guess it was the truth and sometimes people need to be told it.
