    I switched from the a7iii to this one and I have to say that the a7c got unfairly trashed by a lot people. Even with its shortcomings, this camera carries the spirit of the mirrorless format that seems to have been lost over the years: compactness. I feel like there will always be users, whether consumers or pros, that will like to have excellent image quality in small packages. The a7c most certainly fits that bill, even with its shortcomings.
    Thanks for the review!

      @@TheHybridShooter Viewfinder has been one of the biggest complaints about the A7C and there the A6400 is better. Lack of control wheels is also one of the biggest complaints about the A7c and there the a6400 is better as well... The A7c really should have more control wheels than the APS-c cameras, not less... There is no good solution if you lack control wheels... Only work-arounds.

    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  3 роки тому +8

      @@karlsjostedt8415 There is very obvious solution if you need more control elements, which is buying A7III instead.
      A7C is specific package for people who mostly use semi-auto settings and want the smallest possible camera, whilst maintaining the full frame sensor, so both EVF and controls are fine for that purpose.
      A6400 had same amount of dials.

    It's amazing how refreshing this was. Most videos on camera gear are 1.5 minutes of mandatory fluff, and then mostly followed by the UA-camr in perfect studio lighting, on a different camera, saying things that could be better communicated in writing. It's a visual medium, about a product that produces visual results, and yet, actually showing what is being said, seem to take the back seat. Your videos are the exception, and I'm glad you do what you do. Thanks. The only constructive suggestion would be to consider adding time-stamps to more easily jump to the specific parts. It is very useful when you want to revisit specific parts of your reviews.

Even though a lot of people said that the ergonomics is crap but who cares when I can easily carry it around with me anywhere. Better than those heavy bulky cameras with good ergonomics but end up being in a dry box most of time. Those people are just salty AF

    Thank you for a good review. I purchased the a7c as a second body to my a7riii and love it. The smaller size is very welcome. I own the GM zooms and they are a bit to big for the a7c's smaller grip. However the Tamron 17-28mm is a great fit for the a7c and probably the lens i use most on the camera. The 35mm and 85mm 1.8 lenses fit the body very well also. You should do a "best lenses for the a7c" video.

    A camera that I always carry around hence the perfect camera for me. I just love my A7C! Paired with the kit 28-60 lens it is undoubtedly the smallest fullframe mirrorless camera. I also like the fact that we now have smaller lighter lens option from Samyang/Rokinon like the 18mm f2.8 and other smaller primes which pair very well with this body. I hope this trend of small formfactor and ergonomics continue to grow and we can see more competition from other manufacturers! Cheers 🍻

    Just bought it last week as a B camera for 2 camera shoots with the a7Siii as my main camera. Just amazing! Bought the SmallRig cage with the deeper super-comfortable front grip. So I get a matching Sony camera with great auto-focus, same low-light sensitivity and I can also push my ISO with no discernable depreciation in quality. Don’t care about only 8 bit as I do very little colour grading. I do a lot of event shooting like concerts, stage-plays, dance groups, choirs where I can put this camera on a tripod with wider shot- 20mm 1.8. while running-and-gunning with the big camera and they are SUPER easy to match in Premiere Pro!! Oh and 24 MP makes it a great hybrid camera too! Nirvana!! 📸

      @SF6 S5 is not a good choice for someone starting a UA-cam channel. Those users won't appreciate advanced video options and the AF is still very bad on S5. The lens selection is also very limited, especially when it comes to budget options. Buying into M43 system in 2021 is also a bad idea.
