- In this video I review the Sony A7C. The Sony A7C is a remarkable camera. The Sony Alpha 7C is the smallest full frame camera with sensor stabilization. It was released back in 2020. I share my thoughts about the A7C.

I am a canon shooter but I use my Sony A7c on daily basis professionally and it is a great camera for video cine 1 and still photography. It is the best camera for the money I ever had!

SonyAlphaRumors is reporting 3 new sony cameras were registered in China.. 🤷🏾♂️ idk but we’ll see if the A7C M2 pans out to be sooner than later this year.
Got my A7C when it got released and I love it since. And I’m using it with big lenses as well. Just got the tamron 50-400mm…my main lense is the tamron 20-40mm though

I just bought the A7C a couple of days ago.
I am a street photographer. Small and lightweight are my priorities. I bought this camera for two reasons. I’ve never used a full frame sensor and want to see if there is a difference between full frame and APSC. I also want to try Sony autofocus.
I’m setting the camera up so I’m menu diving. Trying to find the features I like. Part of the problem is I need to go into the submenu to find what I’m looking for. Also, there is some differences between what Fuji and Sony call things.
Also looking for a lens. Thinking about starting with the Sony 35/1.8. It is hard to make photographs without a lens.

Enjoyed the video! A7C is a small full frame; intended IMO to be mostly with small lenses, maybe for hiking or backpacking or,light travel needs, not intended to compete with bigger cameras like an a74 etc. on sale now, but not by much. I’m very tempted by it, though with the fx30 at around same price.

Totally agree that the A7C wasn’t intended and will never be able to compete with the A74.. in the same vain fx30 is a video camera with all modern video specs, whereas the A7c is a compact hybrid. Not sure you’d be able to compare those either given the lack of a proper photo mode… for me so far, the A7C has just been fun to have around.

Im a more casual photographer / getting into the hobby more, and I just finally bought a used a7c for about $1100 with the 28-60 lense and Ive been loving it a lot (coming from a Canon EOS 2000D, so a big upgrade). I defenitely wish I had a lense more capable of farther zooms and one for more up close shots though.

Great advice. I just picked up this camera as my first full frame coming from ZV-E10s and A6400. I was about to find it from Best Buy open box for $1330, and If you have total tech through them, you get a two year extended ADH warranty. For lenses I picked up the 85mm 1.8, 40mm 2.5 & found a used 24-105mm F4 used for $850 from a local camera store. Absolutely loving it so for for the price. Thanks for this video, going to check out your review video on the 40mm next!

Its a great camera. Only thing its missing is 10 bit but its not a deal breaker for me. Maybe a7c II will include it! Mostly reliable autofocus is a game changer!

Yeah everyone wants 4K60 10 bit for cheap money in a full frame and guess what, it is a unicorn. $1550 used like new from MPB.

Is the a7c camera for long recordings and interviews, for example, two hours? Is it appropriate? Does the temperature not rise?
Thanks for checking out the video! In my experience with the A7C camera it runs flawlessly! Mines ran for over 2hrs with a dummy battery and I have never had any over heating issues. Highly recommended for long form recording!
Still loving my A7C here, and sad that the line is discontinued and I won't be able to upgrade to a new model in the future. I love slapping my 35mm f2.8 and being able to get into a venue where "pro cameras" are prohibited because my set up is compact.
There's not going to be a A7C II? That's too bad and short sighted.
@@BJJgurl Sony said they stopped production on it because of the chip shortage, and is directing the chips to their bigger selling cameras but I suppose they could make a mark 2 when the shortage is over. Maybe they didn't official discontinue it, but I feel like it is. Let's hope i'm wrong haha 🤞
I don’t think it’s been discontinued. In fact, I’ve heard rumors of the next upgrade having all the a7iv features and more.

This is an amazing camera indeed! Viewfinder wise: you can get from amazon a little rubber that you anchor to the shoe - solved! Also you dont put your nose on the screen like on the rest of them.. the bracketing and the high speed plus drive works awesome..

The only problem with the small rig cage is you can't use a flash with the cage. There are other cages that you can use a flash with.

Dude I just love your relaxed, casual no-nonsense style! I am about to buy this as a B camera to go with my A7Siii and am excited about matching these 2 in editing. And I use S-Cinetone a lot and have been thinking about how to specifically match that so huge thanks for the ‘neutral’ tip!!! 👏👏👏

Thanks for watching the video! You can also try HLG 2 for matching both cameras.. but to match S-Cinetone, it’s neutral.. hope that helps!

Hey man, great video! Is there any sign of the a7c mark ii being released or announced soon? I’m thinking about getting the a7c but the drop in price might be worth the wait..

Appreciate it… as for as a mark 2 of the A7C, I have no clue when or if Sony would release it.. if you go by the rumors, it was to supposedly be released last year.. some ppl said Sony was canceling the A7c line up altogether. I would say that Sony does tend to have a release pattern of 2-4 years for their camera bodies. Even though we’re in year 3, Sony’s due to update their APSC line. And they offer their “flagship” apsc 6xxx at $1500.. I’m not sure they’d want an A7c or A7cii cutting into those sales of that “high end aps-c”. 🤷🏾♂️But that’s all pure speculation on my part. They might release the A7c this year but may also up opt do so next year. But I’m with you, getting an A7C on sale is the move!!

Thanks for checking out the video! As for as the 1/4000 limitation, I’ve just accepted the fact that I need to use VNDs for my fast lenses when the scene calls for it.
It’s 1/8000 in silent mode (electronic shutter).

Don’t get your cage! The door flaps must get in the way. Do you have to open all flaps before putting the cage on??? I think an L bracket on the right side makes more sense as there are no ports there and as well gives you a deeper grip! Any ideas for me before I buy?
So the cage doesn't block any of the ports/doors..the only possible negative is it doesn't make the camera as compact anymore. Depending on the use-case, one might want a camera to be slightly bigger to pair with a non-compact lens.

Hi, would you feel that this camera is a better choice than the Canon R8? (not taking into consideration the IBIS)

I have a hard time seeing Sony fit a dual card in that small body. What if they put in a mini SSD inside the camera like 256gb internal storage?
Thanks for checking out the video!! Internal storage would be nice too but could be a mixed bag.. if internal storage were to fail we’d have to send back the whole camera... I’m still hoping for a slightly bigger body and maybe with that they could figure out the 2nd card slot. Wishful thinking.

It really depends on what you’re primarily doing with the camera. For that price point, if I were only focused on photography and not video. I’d get the a7iii.. but truth is you can’t go wrong with either one. Both are great choices! Thanks for checking out the video!!
If you don't need the selfie flip screen and size is not an issue, I'd vote for the III. This is coming from an A7C user haha.

They pay for A7C reviews? So... A7Cii is coming, they want to sell remaining stock :D
They will probably put the 33mp and new menu etc in the new one this year. It’s currently on sale much cheaper than most other cameras right now so maybe new one in few months or so
I been wanting this camera for a year I travel to Europe a lot and I wanted something to use for video and photos I never seen this camera in person but I have held the Sony a6400 same body So hopefully Christmas I’ll get this haha
