    Since many are asking, here's my thoughts on a Slow Yukong Build.
    The idea behind a slow Yukong is to let her move right after your healer or shielder. This means that no matter how much speed or action value manipulation your damage dealers do, they will almost always move after Yukong and get buffed by her skill. I actually have a couple of issues with this.
    1. The most obvious one is that the first turn of your damage dealers won't gain any buff from Yukong since Yukong will move last.
    2. Even if small, there is still the possibility that any of your damage dealers could squeeze in between the healer/shielder and Yukong.
    3. Since your damage dealers are fast and have speed/action manipulation, it is possible for them to overtake Yukong at some point and move w/o being buffed. For example, I've seen my Pela overtake my Herta many times because my Pela is simply too fast while my Herta is very slow. So combine this with #1 you are missing out a couple of buffs from Yukong.
    4. Your LC options will also be very limited since Past and Future and Battle Isn't Over stops becoming an option. You now want something that would buff both your damage dealers since their turns could be unpredictable.
    They also bring the argument that what if your Yukong got speed debuffed or action delayed? She will now always move after your main carry. The thing is, this goes both ways. I will ask, what if your healer/shielder got speed debuffed or action delayed? They will now always move after your Yukong and waste her buff.
    But why make your life hard by missing out some buffs from Yukong because she's too slow?
    Why make her slow when she can still encounter the same problem against speed debuffing enemies?
    That's why I saw no point bringing up the Slow Yukong Build. Literally, if you just used a carry that doesn't manipulate their speed and tuned Yukong to them, you wouldn't need to face so many problems.

      Alright I'll play devil's advocate.
      1. This point is completely negated by the fact that you can use technique on Yukong to provide the buff on the first turn.
      2. This is true, but the game incentivizes you to clear content as fast as possible. It's highly unlikely to happen in the first few turns.
      3. How slow are we talking here? There's little reason in my mind to have any unit outside clara under 120 speed (one of the main speed break points). Additionally as you brought up in your video, it's detrimental to use skill every turn on Yukong. Your dps won't be buffed every turn anyway.
      4. This is a fair point. I believe Yukong's best team to be mono imaginary anyway using planetary rendezvous, but that obviously makes her potential teammates very few.
      I'd say "slow" yukong (aka last in team's turn order) is not as bad as you make it out to be. It's also fairly reliable when you speed tune her just under Luocha whose A6 provides him with 70% cc resist. Furthermore, most of the main dps units in this game have speed manipulation baked into their kit. Her ability to slot into teams is greatly reduced if she needs to not only be faster than the main dps (ex: yukong base speed 107, seele 115), but also stay ahead of them indefinitely.
      I agree that it's a moot point to argue about what happens if she get cc'd and it changes her turn order. Regardless of build, Yukong will suffer if this happens. I could see this used as an argument for running a different support instead entirely, but when she does work I believe she has the strongest buff in the game currently. Think of the damage per screenshot! lol jk
      This concludes my PSA. I enjoyed the video as always, but when I saw the pinned comment I couldn't stop myself from presenting a counter argument.

    I kinda like how she's not braindead to play but with the amount of variance in relics and battles, making her so finicky seems like a mistake. The 2 turn cap for her buff at E6 is insane to me.

      I feel the same lul, when building her to fit into my clara team, I had to purposefully not fully upgrade her speed boosts so she is the 3rd person to attack so my clara doesnt lose out on her ult's buff. But this means if I want to fit her into other teams, she has to get another speed boots so depending on the team she has to have like at least a 2,3 speed boots with diff stats and upgrades .
      At that point, to me it isnt really smart brain moment, its just tedious and annoying trying to get more speed boots lmao

    Shes an incredible buffer and sub dps, she also requires an incredible amount of forethought to get those results from. Team building, speed tuning with relics, so on.
    It is pretty frustrating that her need for speed tuning makes it so hard to use her with the people that can get multiple actions out of her buffs, like Seele, Qingque, even Himeko if e1, all buff their speed.

I like how complex she is, at first I assumed she'd be a direct upgrade to Tingyun or Asta but having her turn order and priorities be so complex means she won't fit as easily into some team setups as other Harmony characters, at least not without some careful strategizing. I still don't have Welt, so she's my only Imaginary damage dealer at the moment. I'll definitely be thinking more about how I build her now, it seems I judged her capabilities too quickly.

    If you aren't using The battle isn't over or past and future Lightcones, it is easier to speed tune to your Sustaining (abundance or preservation) character than your dps. Have her as close to the sustain's speed but just a bit slower so the sustain always goes just before, and the other characters will get the buff, which includes the main dps by default. Sustain characters don't have ability's that manipulate their speed generally, so you can have the buff on the other two characters that you want way more consistently that way, regardless of whether they have ability's that manipulate their action value. Also, your sustain is a character your more likely to keep in the party, while trading out the dps as the situation requires, so if speed tune her to Luocha just keep pairing her with him for instance... then you've just eliminated the negative synergy with characters that buff their speed or have built in action forward.

    • @LisaraScarlet
      @LisaraScarlet  10 місяців тому

      If your Yukong is really that slow while your main DPS are faster and even faster with their speed buffs or action value manipulation, it is possible that there can be a turn at some point where they will squeeze in between your healer and Yukong. Not to mention, this setup already lost a turn where Yukong could've buffed your main damage dealer and it will happen every start of the wave, meaning it will happen 3 times for MOC6 and above floors. That is quite the sacrifice you are making when you could've simply speed tuned her to your main damage dealer.

      @@LisaraScarlet I think those 2 conditions aren't mutually exclusive. Tune her to be slower than Sustain and both of them much faster than base DPS speed. DPS speed boost will close the gap but keep that order for successive rounds

      @@LisaraScarlet
      You don't build your sustains slow though, since they are usually SP positive, so your sustains should be faster than most of your dps that don't have build in speed buffs/action forwards that can make their speed inconsistent. So for example, Yukong would still go before characters like Welt, since if she is matching the sustain she should be faster than him. Ideally, imo, you should aim for the sustain being the fastest character, and Yukong being the second fastest in the group.
      Also if you are talking about gaps, if you are within 2 Speed of the sustain, you literally have a 1 AV gap the first turn, going up by 1 each turn after, the gap is extremely small, and unlikely for an inconsistent speed dps to land in, especially with each wave resetting things so the gap never becomes to big. If you speed tune to an character with inconsistent speed instead (Like Seele with both a 2 turn 25% speed buff on skill and a 20% action forward on basic attack), and not the sustain, you'd be much more likely to have the dps to move ahead of Yukong and not get the buff compared to tuning your speed to the Sustain.
      Also, if you do end up in a situation where the dps is faster than Yukong, you aren't losing 3 turns. At most if the dps is faster than Yukong you are losing 2, because you start with the technique, or since most characters speed buffs/action forward require them to do things to get them, even without the technique you'd often be ahead of them on their first turn anyway.
      I am not advocating for a slow Yukong, I believe in fast Yukong and a Fast Sustain character. Speed boots with a good amount of speed substats on both, more spd subs then you'd put on most dps chars.
      Furthermore, having waves 2 and 3 start without the dps having roaring bowstrings if they are faster isn't a guarrantee, especially at E6 if you have the ult available and use it then, your dps would still have it on that first turn. Also if you clear out a wave with 1 roaring bowstring left and your dps is your fastest character, you'd start the next wave with that Roaring bowstring, so in reality 2 is the maximum, and it could actually not be a factor at all.
      Also Yukong is at her best with a main dps and a sub dps as her roaring bowstrings get the full value if you have 2 characters that take full value from them. For example Seele as a main DPS and Silverwolf as a sub dps/debuffer. In such a team, you need to speed tune Yukong, the main Dps and the subdps... or just speed tune Yukong and the Sustain.
      It is better gear wise as well because you aren't going to have to speed tune to every single dps you use on her. You don't need to replace your sustain character as often as you need to your dps char (as you don't need to match elemental weaknesses for the sustain, all you need them to do is to be able to keep your team alive)
      It is better for consistent speed/action value dps, as they are usually slower than those with action forward or speed buffs and I believe in building Yukong faster than I'd build them, and is better for inconsistent speed characters so they don't accidently jump directly ahead of Yukong.
      For example, with Seele, mine has 122 speed, which jumps to 150.75 when she uses her skill, and essentially stays there for the rest of combat... except when I basic attack (such as when a mob is low enough HP that I could kill them with a basic and so save a skill point), where that 20% action forward is equivalent to having around 188.4 speed that turn. I can't speed tune with a character that can jump the equivalent of 37-38 speed every basic attack, but I can get a lot more consistency via having Yukong be, for instance 143 speed to Luocha's 145, which is more than most of my dps have anyway, then having to get gear to properly speed tune to each and every single dps that I have.
      To me, speed tuning to the Sustaining unit doesn't mean building a slow Yukong, it means building her so that the Sustain unit is never the one affected by roaring bowstrings, and with Yukong ideally being the second fastest unit. It means doing your absolute best to ensure that a unit with inconsistent action Values has as small of a chance to be the character that goes right before Yukong and missing being affected by her buff, by having the gap between Yukong and the Sustaining character as low as possible, so there is only a very small gap to fall into. It means being able to not need to fiddle around with her gear every time you use a new dps with a different speed stat with her. It means being able to have a sub dps as well and have both the main dps and sub dps always be the ones benefiting from roaring bowstrings, without having to fiddle around with speed every new team comp combination.

    With Seele you can have 4 turns with Youkong buff on e0 Youkong if you have Bronya, without even bothering about Seele's speed. All you need is to make sure Yukong have more speed than Bronya (which is not that hard, considering Bornya is building crit dmg only). So, you need to have 2 SP on Youkong's turn: you use her skill and ult, then use Bronya's skill on Seele, then use Seele's basic attack and ult instantly after - on ult activation Seele's turn is considered still going. If both basic attack/ult killed an enemy, then you have two more turns with Youkong buff. Tried this myself, this strat really working and dealing decent damage (especially on my already minmaxed Seele).

    I think using Yukong as a third damage option is totally doable especially now that we got Blade, but she also works with other characters such as Arlan. I also like to run her in my farm teams because her extra damage helps with trash waves (the only good potential farmer I have is Herta but she's not really a priority to build because her use is so niche and I'm like 14 days into the game). Luocha is my fastest unit in the team and he can sometimes go twice because he outspeeds everyone so much, which is good because he regens a lot of skill points for me. In harder content Yukong is fine as a sub DPS though.

    Hey Dreamy, do you know if DoT damage is calculated when you apply the stacks or when the enemy turn starts? people don't think about DoT teams when looking at Yukong because of the crit buffs, but I think she'll work perfectly for double dot dps teams if the game calculates the damage when the dot is applied. To me it would be some sleeper tech people need to see on practice to notice, considering dot durations and her auto-skill rotation, a massive chunk of atk%, and the crit buffs actually pushing dot builds with stray crit substats into a relevant spot.

    • @LisaraScarlet
      @LisaraScarlet  10 місяців тому

      I haven't done much tests on DoTs so I don't know. You might find some problem with Yukong in a way that when the enemy moved, you already burned her stacks. Since follow-up attacks and counters do not count as "1 turn", she can potentially buff all of those Clara + March, Herta, Himeko attacks as she pleases. On top of this, she breaks enemies very easily which triggers Himeko and breaking deals huge damage which triggers Herta if you need to conserve SP

    She's great, and even better with Eidolons. I actually really like Dance dance dance on her as a light cone. It moves forward all the team, so the composition stick, and very often, it allows all my team to play again before the opponents that were about to follow Yukong. Allowing to maybe break them before they move.
    On top of playing this in a "mono" imaginary team with Welt and Luocha... it helps making sure the opponents never play lol.

    Does Seele have good synergy with Yukong? If Seele uses her basic attack, she will forward her turn and potentially screw the turn order. This happens even more with some blessings in SU.

      Seele is kinda weird in a way that she is anti-synergistic with Yukong but also synergistic. E6 Yukong should make it a lot easier for Yukong to buff Seele.

    • @LisaraScarlet
      @LisaraScarlet  10 місяців тому +6

      If E6 Yukong uses her ultimate w/o buff stacks the stack it generates will be enhanced and all bonuses will apply to Yukong herself before her ultimate lands a hit. As explained on the video, if you immediately use Yukong's ultimate after a basic attack, she will consume her own stack so its best to do a basic attack and wait for her turn to actually end before using her ultimate. That way, she will still get the benefits from the stack + ultimate's buff on her damage while still buffing up the next character.

    I'm not sure if you know who Guoba is, bit in his guide he "recommends" a slow Yukong with atk on boots and I personally feel like one shouldn't be that fixated on speed tunning (as in, you will get CCed or have speed buffs, and so you can use her talent when your next 2 units won't benefit from the strings that she could use).
    Obviously if your carry is always BEFORE Yuk you should speed tune, but being hiperfixated on that could be negative imo. What do you think about that?

    • @LisaraScarlet
      @LisaraScarlet  10 місяців тому

      Even a slow build isn't safe from speed debuffs or action delays. For example, your healer got aimed by a speed debuff / action delay and got pushed below your Yukong, what now? Your Yukong will now always buff that healer and worse if she is using Past and Future or Battle Isn't Over LC. Nothing is safe from speed debuffs or crowd controls.

    • @LisaraScarlet
      @LisaraScarlet  10 місяців тому +1

      My issue with this will be the gap between the speed of the main carry and Yukong. If there's actually big enough of a gap, Yukong might get overtaken by your main carry and starts to move always before Yukong. If the speed tuning makes the speed gap extremely small like -1 speed per character, I think it is fine.

    I agree with pretty much everything in this video except the spd boots on yukong, and bronya's lc being best in slot.
    I would not say to always put spd boots on yukong. I would say spd/atk% depending on the spd of the dps, and your spd subs. The aim is for yukong to go just before your dps. Not every dps is fast. And if your dps is slow, then you might not need spd boots to be faster than them, so you can give yukong atk% boots for more damage.
    To me best in slot means best in all situations. This is not the case with bronya's lc. S5 planetary will be better for an end game imaginary team where 3-4 characters are doing damage. Also that missing 1 energy with e2 can be obtained by being hit or from a teammate, so there is no need for err from bronya's lc or vonwacq.
    Very nice tip about yukong's e6.

    I had my fears about using Yukong, but Honkai Star Rail has 4 more buttons that people neglect to mention when they bring up the game's flaws.
    You're not just pressing Attack and Skill; you're gauging the Turn Order and reacting to the enemy's movements. Some people fail to look at HSR's combat in that context, and there aren't a lot of turn-based RPGs I experienced that let you cut in, out of turn.

      I think that if anything, it is more related to how I never make clickbait titles and thumbnails. For example, you probably have seen countless titles that already assume YOU ARE BUILDING HIM/HER WRONG or PLAY HIM/HER RIGHT as if they already assume you are playing the character wrong. This tempts a viewer to click on the video aka clickbaiting.
