  • This was going to be a 3 minute video for Tim Tok showing what I went through to attempt at bringing this dead Honda generator back to life that my friend gave me because he was gonna throw it in the trash … and he said "It's dead bro..."
    Remember, I usually do things the wrong way so don't follow any of this video as advice. However, if you see something from the video clips you can take away then that's cool right?
    This was quite an adventure for me who is oblivious to how any engine works...
    Sorry it's in iPhone format.. :(

      @@schüt7765 I appreciate it my friends tell me this is way too long. The reason I left it the way it is is so I can go back and rewatch it for myself because guess what the carburetor needs a cleaning again it’s been sitting ever since this video ha ha

    There is an idle jet circccuit to clean as well,refer to the 2000i vids as it's similar carb and lots of vids.No need to remove the throttle servo just unplug,you were lucky not to have the spring go wizzing across the room.These carbs are easy once you remove from the motor.

      @@davidsilos7241 given the fact that I have as much mechanical engineering skills as a chipmunk that has been run over by a truck, if I could figure this out you can. I recommend there’s a couple other videos that really show the details better and I found out that I didn’t need to 3-D print a gasket. You can buy gasket material and just cut it out with scissors or something. I wish you luck!

    Question, so what ultimately fixed the electric not able to start and just cranked and cranked and cranked? I have one that is doing the same thing, battery is new but just cranks and cranks but won’t fire up.

      I wasn’t actually sure what would fix it specifically, which is why I did everything I could think of. Definitely taking apart and cleaning the carburetor also, cleaning the spark arrestor and changing out the spark plug and new filter, remove old oil added new oil and checking the debris catcher under the gas line. Mine actually needed a new battery as well.

      @shauchiou9785 Рік тому

      But when you first installed the new battery, it still wouldn’t fire up, it just did the cranking and cranking like my. So it must have been what you did after that….. lol but you did everything so we could not eliminate what exactly was the problem. 😅

      @@shauchiou9785 end it has been a while since I did this video but now I remember, after the new battery yes, it was chugging like yours was trying to start the red light that was coming on is a notification that there was not enough oil. This generator if it doesn’t have perfectly filled oil, it will not let you start it so that would be the first thing to check
      But yeah if it hasn’t been serviced in a while, the carburetor might need cleaning and a new spark plug couldn’t hurt, right?

      @@shauchiou9785 i’ll be honest you can’t sit through 13 minutes of a painfully long video? Lol, yeah I had to watch my video again to remind myself that it wasn’t starting because the low oil light was coming on. The replacement oil is 12 ounces and the generator needs 18 1/2 ounces.

      Carb clean is more than likely what worked. Along with cleaning the debris catch @kraftaculousgreekgodofcraf1113
