Brother SE 2000 Bobbin Winding & Threading
Here's a sub-par instructional video of bobbin winding and threading the Brother SE2000 Sewing Machine. I didn't have a lot of time to make it as I was super busy laying by the pool.

Thank you sir in 2025! This two part tutorial helped me a lot🎉. Fyi: the german version only requires two wires to be connected. The original german switch unit has only one level instead of the two level version you showed. But a two level replacement also works, that’s what I got from eBay and successfully installed. Happy sewing.

On my quantum machine. How do I get my knob to turn
@@robinjohnson5328 you should never have to force anything. If the big knob doesn’t turn you may look into the bobbin area, remove the bobbin and bobbin case and see if there’s thread stuck. If not it may need servicing. Good luck!

I have a singer heavy duty sewing machine 4423 which one needle we can use for jeans ?
be sure to use a Singer needle, style 2020, in at least a size 16, but you might even need a size 18 depending on the type of denim you are sewing. Also you could try needles labeled 'for denim' or 'jeans needle' :)

hi, thank you for this video! i like the singer 4423 heavy duty, but mine has a foot control cable, that is way too short to sit and sew ergonomically: only 125 cm from the machine to the footcontrol. how long is yours?
@@alltagszauber thank you for watching! It seems this is a common problem with this model. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a solution. One option is if you have an electrician friend or go to a repair shop, they should be able to lengthen the cord, but you have to do it right, of course to prevent any fire hazards, and I’m not an electrician. I don’t have this machine anymore as it was not my favorite so I sold it. But I distinctly remember the pedal barely reach the floor. I don’t know Singer trying to save a few dollars by making the cord shorter? Other than that maybe email an online supply like sewing parts online and asking them if they sell a third-party pedal that has a longer cable? Sorry, I don’t have a definite answer for you.
@@kraftaculousgreekgodofcraf1113 thanks a lot for your helpful answer! so its not just my machine. i try that and maybe contact some singer channel, maybe feedback helps at least future buyers?
@@alltagszauber can’t hurt! And maybe if they have a Facebook group
@@kraftaculousgreekgodofcraf1113 thats a great idea, i will tri! !
How often should this deep cleaning and serviceing be done?
@@sherrywilliams1131 of course I’m no expert, I think the general rule is if you sew a lot at least once a year you should have your machine serviced? But I don’t see why if you do a simple clean in between projects, the lint that accumulates in the bobbin area and under the bobbin case and maybe inside the head where the take up arm is? I feel like your machine can run for over a year or two without needing a deep clean, but that’s just my big old guess 😬
Shall we take bets as to whether or not this machine ever sews again?!! ha ha (My Singer is overdue for it's trip to the shop, I wonder what they'll find inside!)

I sat here till the end. Im intrigued by sewing machine roaur videos.😂
I’m so sorry you watched the whole thing 😅
I dont like to keep that end cover thing screwed on because i like to be able to remove it when i need to. The design of this machine is actually terrible but its popular and cheap.
I would imagine that would save a lot of time
I tried to open that end door on my machine because I could see the fuzzies in there, but I never could get it open. I have to take it to the shop soon.
@@grandmajane2593 I feel like a good cleaning, solves most problems with sewing machines
I didn't want to pay to have mine oiled and cleaned. It was a littl scary.
I have to put some lithium grease in mine, and push the feed dig mechanism back in place.
Great job! So satisfying to be able to repair your own machine!
I'll never open mine again either.😂
😂.
I took mine apart. The same model. I struggled too and had a few screws left over at the end.
Hopefully one day I settle on just a few machines for myself that are.. 1. Sew amazing and more importantly, 2. Are easy to take apart and maintain.
You home repair guys need to start a habit of designating a special little dish to hold all the screws, gaskets, nuts, etc. ---- good advice from grandma!
Superb shots and angles! Thank you!!

It’s a good machine!
oh Kraftaculous! oh i summon thee to lay your heavenly hands of craftyness upon my meager sewing machine who has lost it's way (by the way, it's a Singer HD 4411) because of the bobbin has lost it's mojo and it's no longer working! lol!
😂… who .. summons .. me… (use genie from Aladdin’s voice lol)…. I’m sorry about your bobbin. My very limited knowledge of Bobbin problems is if it’s a metal bobbin after many uses, the metal can actually kinda wear away at the plastic bobbin housing which would mean you would need to replace the whole bobbin housing. However, if you are bored and take apart your bobbin area and look around to see if there are any needle hits maybe the needle punctured a little bit of the plastic area sometimes you need to sand that down with sandpaper and try to make glass smooth again and also the bottom part the bottom part. Or see if you need to tighten the bobbin housing screw thingy … I’m no help at all am I… welp, Going back into the kingdom now to slumber😂
Thanks for this. I’ll keep it in mind as I have the same machine. Any chance you know how to sharpen or replace the thread blade on the side/back of a serger?
I do not have experience changing blades out or sharpening them on a serger. On regular sewing machines, if you can open up the “head” area housing the side thread cutting blade, you can remove it with pliers from the inside. I imagine it would be a matter of ordering more blades for that machine. 🙂 Thanks for watching!
THANK YOU for showing the auto-threader!!
Thank You for this tutorial - Very much appreciated
Thank you for watching! I’m glad it helped someone. 🙂
You are funny 😂 nicely done
Thank you I learned a lot and then forgot all of it 😂
@@kraftaculousgreekgodofcraf1113 🤪
There is an idle jet circccuit to clean as well, refer to the 2000i vids as it's similar carb and lots of vids.No need to remove the throttle servo just unplug, you were lucky not to have the spring go wizzing across the room. These carbs are easy once you remove from the motor.
I was lucky i figured out how to put anything back where i found it.. 😅… I learned a lot disassembling everything, thank you for the info!
I know the manual says for us not to oil it, but i figured that they just want the repair companies to do so we don't over oil it. Anyways, is that the only two places this model needs oil at? I have the same machine has been going great for years now. I clean it out where i can reach, but your video makes me want to open that sucker up 😆
I feel like maybe machines built not to be oiled had a long lasting oil that doesn’t need oil put on top and ruin it or something? But what do you do if lint and fuzz obviously is stuck in the oily parts, or it’s been longer than the oil could handle and it’s hardened or gummed up? If I find a machine that needs some lovin’, I remove any sticky or gummed up oil / grease and clean and then anything that moves or slides against metal on metal or plastic gets grease and oil… 🙂 I’m sorry I didn’t do a thorough video. I don’t have the machine anymore, but if you are adventurous enough to get at least one side off or the bottom, basically anything that moves or slides against each other I would oil it and if it looks like there’s gears rotating into other gears maybe put fresh grease on those , and clean them
Many thanks! I have my original Designer SE from 2004. Never changed the knife blade , no wonder it was not cutting thread.
😂I didn’t know they were changeable for the longest time!
Barbeque Lighter Fluid works well - and I actually use Naptha to remove old grease - along with a toothbrush to soften up & remove the old grease - and then rinse it with more lighter fluid - same goes for the adhesive left behind from the stickers.
Yeah, I forgot about barbecue Lighter fluid. For me everything just seems like it’s gotten really expensive so i’ve been using what I have around the house … for the stickers using the heat gun was the cheapest for me and then a little rubbing alcohol. Sometimes I use a little WD-40 for glue residue.
Regarding Oil - I carry a FULL SYNTHETIC Sewing Machine Oil that WILL NOT gum your machine up over time - whereas the common "Mineral based sewing machine oil CAN AND WILL Gum up your machine over time. The LED Bulb would be the same one as the one that i sold to you for your Pfaff 1222.
Hey, great to hear from you again! Thank you for sharing the information about your sewing machine oil!
THank you. I've been thinking of getting a 4423 and your vids are helpful.
It means a lot to me if my videos actually help out someone. 🙂 That being said, I’ve heard a lot of reviews saying the “heavy duty“ is just a name Singer is adding and people that are trying to sew heavy jeans or heavy material are not 100% happy, but then you would have to upgrade to an industrial machine or a vintage all metal machine which are many hundreds of dollars if not $1000 or more. For a beginner machine, I don’t see why this isn’t a good start.
Whats up with the Russian brides web page? Ironic joke or hilarious mistake? Lol
Probably both 😆
It's made in Switzerland, buddy.
That’s good to know, in 1990 they opened up a factory in Thailand. I’m not sure which machines are produced there.
You just need to wait a few seconds before you restart the system as the circuitry on the board still has some juice a short time after power off. Most likely the time it took you to unplug and plug the cable was enough to complete the shutdown.
I swear I tried every logical combination, but yeah, that makes sense. Thank you.
