Just serviced my EU about a month ago. Battery died about 15 years ago. My gen is in an aluminum enclosure on my car hauler race trailer. used the pull start as I was too lazy to pull the case apart. After sitting all winter it would not start. It took me 2 hours to take the compartment apart since the torks screws stripped. My buddy serviced it, runs great now. At the time I did not know the battery was so accessible.
@@ThrottleStopRacing | it was running when I bought it but surging when eco off. I have since done some maintenance had the carb apart and checked the spark arrestor, was not bad but had a torch to it. Surging less but still some maybe just fine.
You're video is amazing! Simple and to the point. I'm wondering if you might know off the top of your head why a Honda eu2000i would start pouring fuel out of the air vent hose when it's turned on. Even without turning on, pulling the cord a few times gets fuel to come down that hose, through the little black T connector and then up the other hose to erupt from its end where it's attached to the little black bracket.
Yes I assumed it is to do with the carb, but was curious what mechanically was causing it. Maybe is the floater is normally meant to block this air vent when fuel filled the bowl? I have not learned the design yet but that's my first thought. Thank you for your advice and the very informative video
You do a great job with this video. I wish you had taken the carb out and given it a cleaning, I need the help and I trust your methods. Mine has sat for about 10 years with fuel in it without having been drained out during its last time running. I have slowly pecked away at the maintenance items you have done, but now I need to clean the carb and fuel lines before I start it up. Thank you for the video.
@@strafto04 Same situation with my EU3000is. Has sat for 1 year with gas in it and won't start, need to clean the carb. Can you give some instructions or tips on how you did yours? You should do a "how to" video on cleaning the carb. Thx.
Nicely detailed instructions on what you were doing. Really wish you would do another video on removing and cleaning the carb on the EU3000is. Any chance?
There is zero benefit from using premium fuel in these small engines. It would be better to go out and find a gas station that sells E-Zero fuel (No Ethanol) as E-Zero fuel last longer in storage.
I dont like this model mine wont start it backfires as it shoots a flame into exaust,, oil up, fresh gas, air fliter clean, spark arrestor clean but still wont start. Replacing pull cord is a nightmare on this model
Well done. Perfect, direct, efficient, complete information. Old guys rule.
I try to start the videos with a bang, get right into it. Thanks for the comment.
Excellent video. Great job showing and explaining what you did and why. Bonus tips on Stabilizer and carb drain.
I am glad you found it helpful. Thanks for the comment.
Watched another video 20 minutes ago on the same subject, 5 minutes in and Old timer has already gave me more knowledge than I could’ve dreamed of
I am happy that the video was good for you
I love the vlog,it’s like going back to skool , nice thanks BigAl merry honda days ahead, thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
Just a beauty of video in all regards. It is very well filmed and narrated
Thank you very much, it is always nice to get these kind of comments.

I would check the carb, and rebuild it.

Sounds like quite a project. Good luck.

Sorry,no. We are concentrating on the 49
How did you get it on the table !!!!???
I used our engine host. Thanks for the question.
Weighs about 175 pounds-need a lift to get it on table
@@tundralou Yes sir that is correct. I used my engine host to get it on the bench.
Thank you! Can you add an Amazon store link in the description with all the items you ordered? Thank you again!
Did you say use premium gas? Does that make a difference?
It most likely makes no difference but it mad me feel better.

If the main board of this generator was errored, can it be repaired?
I wish I could answer that question but it is beyond my knowledge.
what brand of battery worked for you
This is what I used. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071VW65RZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Can you add the part numbers or amazon items so people can order itand follow along please?
Thank you sir 👍
It was my pleasure. Thanks for the comment.
Does it call for Premium or 87???
I'm sure it calls for 87, but iot sits a lot and it makes me feel better. Thanks for your comment.

Sorry to hear you are having problems, mine has been running fine for years.
@ThrottleStopRacing mine heavy used but still should last longer than 3 years without major issues it's never been abused ,a horrible design.
@@RareAvoTrees I have had just the opposite experience with mine. I'm really sorry you are having these problems.
That's an awful lot of Sta-Bil you bought there, you know it goes bad 2 years after you open it right?
That was the only size AutoZone had
