When I first heard about Mushroomhead I thought they were such a weird band, but as I listened to them more they grew on me quick and I realized that their strangeness is what drew me to them in the first place....and now I wouldn't have it any other way. Really miss the XIII line up though.

I'll agree with that. I get more a kick out of listening to J Mann put all that heart and energy into his words than most of those half assed rappers who are only trying to look cool. J Mann is simply badass. He may not have a crazy costume or anything, but he definitely looks and sounds like the kind of guy who could kick some serious ass in a barfight or something.
These guys were SOOOOOOOOOO FAR AHEAD of their time. I remember thinking back in 2001 I was a crazy one for loving this music, but I've seen over the years I was just loving something amazing and not caring what the trends were, I guess. Timeless music.

The reason Slipknot wear masks is cos someone left one hanging around when they were recording the once and they though fuck it and started pissing about recording with masks on, and it caught on and they started doing it live.

Mushroomhead was a band in 93' Corey Joined Slipknot from Stone Sour in 95' but the original Slipknot was together in 92', Mushroomhead had an album out in 95' and Slipknot in 96' Both have had line up changes alot, 99' slipknot had their second album out and in 01' Mushroomhead has their second album out, I've only heard Slipknot explain why they wear masks, it was for an Anti-Image, they didn't want people liking them for there looks they wanted the music to do the talking, I like both equal

This band, is a stupid imitation of slipknot. Slipknot sound lot better. BTW bands nowadays sucks.. the greatest band ever all of them came from 80's (megadeth, metallica, slayer, guns... etc) they had the atittude, brutality, speed and so on... without shit paint on their face trying to pretend be such a evil guys. I had the same thoughts about the very begin of slipknoy, but by time they became older and their way of think its pure much mature. So they changed from child to man with CORRONES.
First of all, this vid is badass! 5/5! But for all you arguing about Slipknot and Mushroomhead and whos more hardcore, just stop. I like both bands and each of them are good in their own way. While Slipknot is more metal based, Mushroomhead is faster and has more of an Industrial feel to it. But in terms of who is more 'hardcore', that just depends on what you prefer. There's no definite answer.

at the end, the Gods of Metal thing. Slipknot is nowhere near one of the best metal bands. if you ask people who know everything about true metal, what metal was invented for (Dimmu Borgir, Gorgoroth, and the real Norwegian Black Metal bands) they will say Slipknot is for pussies. i wouldnt say they are for pussies, but they arent real metal. They are Nu Metal. niether is Mushroomhead. I love Mushroomhead, they are my favorite band. but they are not real metal.
You know what I really like, is this song. It's oddly wierd and exciting. You know what I hate?? People who argue about Slipknot and Mushroomhead. Seriously, it's getting annoying! Mushroomhead is awesome cause they are crazy different and Slipknot is awesome because they are exciting and aggressive, yet melodic. Both bands are awesome and you shouldn't have hatred towards either. Disliking something is acceptable, but to hate something because you like something else is preposterous.

Anyway, Slipknot and MrH are pretty different sounding.
Mushroomhead was a band in 93' Corey Joined Slipknot from Stone Sour in 95' but the original Slipknot was together in 92', Mushroomhead had an album out in 95' and Slipknot in 96' Both have had line up changes alot, 99' slipknot had their second album out and in 01' Mushroomhead has their second album out, I've only heard Slipknot explain why they wear masks, it was for an Anti-Image, they didn't want people liking them for there looks they wanted the music to do the talking, I like both equal

This band, is a stupid imitation of slipknot.
Slipknot sound lot better. BTW bands nowadays sucks.. the greatest band ever all of them came from 80's (megadeth, metallica, slayer, guns... etc) they had the atittude, brutality, speed and so on... without shit paint on their face trying to pretend be such a evil guys. I had the same thoughts about the very begin of slipknoy, but by time they became older and their way of think its pure much mature. So they changed from child to man with CORRONES.

But for all you arguing about Slipknot and Mushroomhead and whos more hardcore, just stop. I like both bands and each of them are good in their own way. While Slipknot is more metal based, Mushroomhead is faster and has more of an Industrial feel to it.
But in terms of who is more 'hardcore', that just depends on what you prefer. There's no definite answer.
I think bud389 does have a point SS was ok, but it was mainly just a trail CD in which the band tried a new style in there music and a new lead singer.Which not to spark any old or classic debates but I prefer J mann over Waylon I like them both but J Mann was a BEAST.But anyways SS seemed like Mushroomhead toned down there lyrics so that they could be more "MTV" suitable.They just don't have the same meaning as XX and XIII did.But whatever thats just my opinion.Anyway Sick Video Dude

I think as a vocalist in general Waylon is better, and like I said, I still think they are sick as FUCK, but Yeah, I just dug the style of their old stuff a bit more. I didn't really say J-Mann was better, just that I like him better, meaning his style.
