And my dumb ass still had no idea who he was. Duh. After the convo my sister was like omg you talked go J Mann that whole time?!?! I was like what??? That was just some random dude. Lmao. No idea it was him!! He was so fucking nice and down to earth, one of the best moments of my life. When they started playing I was in the front row, he looked at me and pointed at me and gave me a nod, man I felt like a star lol. What a moment!!!

when I saw this live in Portland Oregon the set was completely dark and covered by a big curtain with lots of smoke then the curtain dropped and Jman appeared in the center followed by an intense strobelight, jman was wearing a Nazi SS uniform and hat with face painted and began shaking his head left and right very fast, with the strobelight and intro it was the craziest shit i ever seen... fukin awesome!!!!

And about the copying, anyone can wear masks/makeup on stage. Kiss did it, Gwar did it, Wes Borland did it, hell Mudvayne did it. Nobody copied anyone, its a gimmick. And Slipknot just got luck at Ozzfest because back in '99 their shows were crazy and their S/T debut was one of the best albums of all time! Its even on the 100 albums to hear before you die list. Slipknot is way better. Corey can change his voice in songs. Plus, Mushroomhead doesn't change their forms of style in their songs like Slipknot does. I'd say slipknot has way more talent, but mushroomhead is good.

Mushroomhead was a band in 93' Corey Joined Slipknot from Stone Sour in 95' but the original Slipknot was together in 92', Mushroomhead had an album out in 95' and Slipknot in 96' Both have had line up changes alot, 99' slipknot had their second album out and in 01' Mushroomhead has their second album out, I've only heard Slipknot explain why they wear masks, it was for an Anti-Image, they didn't want people liking them for there looks they wanted the music to do the talking, I like both equal

For slipknot it's vocals, guitar x2, bass, drummer, custom percussion x2, sampler and DJ (although to be honest I considered both of them to be DJs for different parts of a set up) Mushroomhead being vocals x2 (screamer and singer), guitar x2, bass, drummer, sampler and DJ. I'd just call the sampler user a "sampler" as well rather than samplerer, or just a second DJ.

First things first music to a true metal fan is part of our life, if you knew anything about metal which you clearly don't you'd know it becomes a part of you. Secondly Mushroomhead has changed there sound alot from this album too all bands change the reason mushroomhead isn't as popular is because slipknot put out songs like vermillion pt. 2 and dead memories to appeal to the mases instead of just metal fans. Oh and arguing over who's better is futile people will always love both bands.

Gwar started the whole mask thing. Mushroomhead formed in 93 where as Slipknot formed in 95. Some of the masks slipknot had where similar to those that some of the original members of mushroomhead wore. But slipknot did have some of their own unique masks of there own. But speaking of Mushroomhead. I am going to see them tomorrow in Dallas. I can't wait.

Both Slipknot and Mushroomhead were good during their day (and i do mean in the past tense). While i think Mushroomhead is a little more original, Slipknots album "Slipknot" was a fucking machine. I don't listen to Slipknot anymore but i still love that album and the band was a sensation for awhile, now their garbage haha.

And about the copying, anyone can wear masks/makeup on stage. Kiss did it, Gwar did it, Wes Borland did it, hell Mudvayne did it. Nobody copied anyone, its a gimmick. And Slipknot just got luck at Ozzfest because back in '99 their shows were crazy and their S/T debut was one of the best albums of all time! Its even on the 100 albums to hear before you die list. Slipknot worked their asses off and MRH did too, their both super kick ass, so stop fighting.

@goodcatholicboy haha you mean masked bands? Or just there music style? I havnt really HEARD anything like mushroom head which i love, but theres plenty of "theatrical" bands like of course the berzerker, behemoth, slipknot (obviously), GWAR, Lordi, older mudvayne, buckethead are a few
i found the version on XX was clearer about the lyrics but the strumming guitar not being in the background irritated me. thankfully that guitar isnt in the bg in this version. awesum song but i liked the intro with the russian woman.
Slipknot is way better. Corey can change his voice in songs. Plus, Mushroomhead doesn't change their forms of style in their songs like Slipknot does. I'd say slipknot has way more talent, but mushroomhead is good.

Slipknot sounds better then them but Mushroom head rocks...I actually heard of them from a DJ at a wedding because I told him to play some slipknot haha.

Honestly, I would have to say that Sun Doesn't Rise is one of their worst songs. Although, I do agree that this is one of their better songs.

Mushroomhead is crazy, the last show i saw was last years Halloween show. Both J Mann & Waylon was there. It was pure fuckin amazin. lol i love this shit about slipknot and mushroomhead... both bands are fucking phenom. i love how older bands aren't brought up... for instance kiss... or alice cooper... i mean come on. is it really too crazy to think that two bands in the same generation might just happen to wear masks? and ximol1... craig was actually the original guitarist of slipknot when anders was the singer and cuddles was in the band.
Mushroomhead was a band in 93' Corey Joined Slipknot from Stone Sour in 95' but the original Slipknot was together in 92', Mushroomhead had an album out in 95' and Slipknot in 96' Both have had line up changes alot, 99' slipknot had their second album out and in 01' Mushroomhead has their second album out, I've only heard Slipknot explain why they wear masks, it was for an Anti-Image, they didn't want people liking them for there looks they wanted the music to do the talking, I like both equal
Oh no don't get me wrong, I knew the instrument organization was different for both.
For slipknot it's vocals, guitar x2, bass, drummer, custom percussion x2, sampler and DJ (although to be honest I considered both of them to be DJs for different parts of a set up)

I'd just call the sampler user a "sampler" as well rather than samplerer, or just a second DJ.
it is biased, and to say mushroomhead did the mask thing first is absurd, if they did it first then did KISS take it from them? what about plays, they take their idea of masks too? just because a band wears masks doesnt mean they took it from someone else, especially since slip and shroom are only two years apart, slip prob didnt even know wh shroom was when they started making music
First things first music to a true metal fan is part of our life, if you knew anything about metal which you clearly don't you'd know it becomes a part of you. Secondly Mushroomhead has changed there sound alot from this album too all bands change the reason mushroomhead isn't as popular is because slipknot put out songs like vermillion pt. 2 and dead memories to appeal to the mases instead of just metal fans. Oh and arguing over who's better is futile people will always love both bands.

Gwar started the whole mask thing. Mushroomhead formed in 93 where as Slipknot formed in 95. Some of the masks slipknot had where similar to those that some of the original members of mushroomhead wore. But slipknot did have some of their own unique masks of there own. But speaking of Mushroomhead. I am going to see them tomorrow in Dallas. I can't wait.
your right, but they arent the same positions, mushroomhead has two singers, slipknot has one, just an example
also, two of the main slipknot founders are drummers in the band, and they wanted a "wall of drums" sound, take away two drummers and the only strange members are the dj and sampler (i pose a conundrum, the instrument is a sampler, would the user be a samplerer?)
Both Slipknot and Mushroomhead were good during their day (and i do mean in the past tense). While i think Mushroomhead is a little more original, Slipknots album "Slipknot" was a fucking machine. I don't listen to Slipknot anymore but i still love that album and the band was a sensation for awhile, now their garbage haha.

Srry Kiddos..... Mushroom head wouldnt sign the contract for "Kids Bop" to rip their music off....... .. But the Slipknot version is coming soon.... edited with cool kitty and Dog noises..... or is that part of their music.... i can never tell.... Mushroomhead is ahead of their time.....
