Step 5: realize no one in my "gang" (which is just random people I freaked out at Home Depot) showed up and I go home and play more red dead 2.

Look at that 360 turn with the horse. Oh my god that looked absolutely perfect. Of course Rockstar had to be the first one to perfect horse mechanics. Sooo fuckin hyped!!!!
I see a weird, downward, almost Tennessee Walker-ish slope to the hindquarters as well as some wonky stiffness, but I was blown away by RDR's horses and these look even better. I still have yet to find console games that can live up to RDR and what I've seen of these horses. When the horse spun before galloping off toward the end, I could feel it. I've sat those kinds of shenanigans before. An excited horse that just wants to go, but you have to have a quick conversation first to get him back under control. He wants to go, but he didn't bother to wait for you to tell him which direction.

I think it'll come down between GoW and RDR2 but RDR2 will take the title for a number of reasons, one of them being the fact that RDR2 will reach a wider audience

Agreed, he has a deep and interesting personality. Arthur is a tough outlaw but draws and writes in a journal and loves his gang and would do anything for them despite being mostly a loner that lives rough.

Umar Ali You are using the shittiest example, a game's graphics have significance but not to any sort of fun-factor for said game. Fallout, which has a type of "dependancy" on graphics are completely biased to your argument. By that bias, I could then use Mario as an example for mine, the classic bit-style Mario games are easily some of the greatest games coming from that series, I would dare even say the best, yet they are a bunch of pixels, not some 1080p-4K graphic'd game. If you play Red Dead Redemption, compared to today's standards for graphics, that game is not the best looking, but it plays extremely well and has lasting fun. The graphics, while still important, do not determine whether a game is good or not. Whether it is good all depends on whether the game functions well (doesn't crash, lag, freeze, etc) and if it has any replay value/is fun.
Evan Eaton Rockstar always has great graphical improvements for every game they release, but what makes this one special is how the world actually looks alive.
You mean like Witcher 3 or Horizon Zero Dawn? Those games look way better or equivalent to this. Also, GTAV wasn't that impressive on last gen. Max Payne 3 looked far better.
Graphics are important to extent because when you are telling a story, you want the player to get immersed and lost into the world. See what is going on and how to feel.

The amount of detailed animation they put into the horses, how they can side trot, react to the world, I'm truly astonished at the work Rockstar puts into the games they make. This is really a true sequel and next Generation game
Knowing that you can interact with your gang, I already know which member of the gang I will be interacting and doings things with the most... John Marston. I can't express enough just how epic this is. It really feels and seems like next level stuff. I think we can all agree that it's time for GTA V to step down and allow Red Dead Redemption 2 to take the throne.

This sounds more like Rockstar is going to go all out on the RPG aspect of the game. And I am more than okay with that, because I love having my choices matter.

The problem with assassins creed is they are just making more of them with no end goal and using the name to make money. I mean look at the new one thats coming out. Its set before "origins" and it doesnt even have the most iconic weapon...the hidden blade. Its just using the name so that hard core fans will buy it. The story died with Desmond.
The Crazy Otter agreed. Also, they pumped out a new game a year, at one point even 2 games a year. Instead of taking the time to really think through the story and plot, and to perfect gameplay, they just wanted a quick payday.

They poured all of their resources into it I think it'll dwarf GTA V in content and scope.
From the looks of things, the game will more than likely be about 300+ hours of gameplay. From what I read, RDR2 map will be bigger than any map than all the games they released so far, So there'll be plenty of things to do and explore in the game.
Hopefully, cause its almost certain multiplayer is going to be a uber monetized cesspool worse than GTA

So, to be clear: Gamespot have taken Rockstar's trailer, re-uploaded it without comment or criticism, slapped a commercial at the start; and they did it all in 1080p instead of the 4K Rockstar used. If this was a smaller channel it would have been content ID claimed and blocked.

But I wouldn’t play online anyway, rockstar said red dead’s online is gonna be monetized similarly to GTAs, so that means some sort of shark cards, with super fucking expensive everything, and no way to earn money unless you have friends who’ll do heists with you.

I hope we can still throw knives. I love the addition of the bow I hope it can be used for more than just hunting animals. But yeah throwing knives were my favorite weapons in what to me was one of the greatest games I played on PlayStation 3.
Wow this is going to be an epic game. The gameplay looks awesome, the graphics are awesome, the characters are interesting. Overall, I think this could become my favorite western game of all time ! :)

This is how you do a game play trailer. I'm glad you guys innovated trailers with this by not just showing a movie like trailer but actually telling the audience what it is we're looking at and telling us the mechanics of the game before we play it while not giving away any part of the story other than who the character is. Good job for real. Other than Blizzard, you guys are looking to enter into one of my favorite developers/publishers.

Willie Schaaf Fun fact, before Gta V Rockstar released a new game every single year. Then they realised all they had to do was add microtransactions to gta online and we've been waiting for a new release ever since...
I am aware of how often they used to put games out, It takes longer with the graphics and details they put into their games now. They probably still could release as often but they focused on making GTA V online what it is and it was a smart move on their part, they still gave us an amazing game prior to that with V. Far better than what COD does and releases a game every year which is basically the same thing or many other games who give you only part of it and make you buy DLC's.
This game really touched me,its beautiful,in its own way. i nearly cried at some parts,im spreading some tears as i type this comment, with the credits on the TV screen. I want to thank all of you who made this beautiful game, it made my life happier for some days. Thank you
God watching this brings back the hype feeling of what was about to be still playing it online today this game is a dream

Don’t judge me but gta 5 really wasn’t even that good. I was more of a fan of every one made before it. On the outside it’s a great well made game but the things that involved gta 5 I barely enjoyed. GTA 6 just sounds tiring to me I hope they don’t even make it
I get what you mean. Gta 5 was a huge game undoubtedly which really broke some records. But I still get where you're coming from. I quite liked the single player, the story was good but wasn't anything outstanding like rdr, Just a lot of mindless action, which in its own right can be very fun. but don't get me started on gta online, hated that so bad
Yeah man! Single player was great don't get me wrong but I couldn't believe the hype for online!! Some of my friends bought the game just to play online and I was so confused, it's soooo boring to me other than the races and occasional heist missions. Maybe that's what ultimately disappointed me with GTA 5 and especially with Rockstar milking the online services and charging real money to get virtually higher ranked than everyone else, I hope they don't do that for RDR2

I think GTA 4 had more fun online modes like deal breaker, bomb da base and hangsman noose etc, it was so awesome to team up with other players and escape from the airport in a helicopter whilst fighting through the swat teams
