I’ve never really understood “gaming” and how people could possibly get sucked into video games. Sure, I played COD 4 and GTA San Andreas to V, but always lost interest after some time. After RDR2, I TOTALLY GET IT. 😂
Stone Cold's Army I don’t think it became a standalone game because of the good reviews, but because it was such a large download. It was basically half of the regular game on its own.
So do you find it hard? Not sure if there's a difficulty setting, but playing it on PSN is so hard for me. I hate not being able to relax out in the world, always on the run or having to fight.
I’m ashamed to admit I’ve Never played Red Dead Revolver, but goddamn the amount of hours I’ve racked up playing Red Dead Redemption is insane. I just wish they’d done a remastered version for PS4 rather than the laggy PSN version which can drop out at any time, thank god for RDR 2 Side note: I bloody loved GUN
Rob Picken Gun was a childhood favorite. Cowboys? Native Americans? Sure I always gotta play the cowboy and not as my people.. but I will always love a western.
Same here. Because when Revolver was released, I was damn kiddo obsessed with Sims 1 and Rayman 3. Also my mum never let me play violent or shooting games. Also I received my first game console (X Box One) just 2 years ago for Christmas. Redemption was my 20th birthday gift in 2017 from my sister. It didnt catch me for the first time, because... cmon, western.. For someone who played GTA V over and over again it was very weak choice of a game.. But then somehow I started loving country music, western movies, books and I gave RDR second chance.. and became completely obsessed with it. When I finally come back home from UNI, i spend hours and hours playing RDR.
@ Rob Picken - If you can handle the PS2-era graphics, then try out _Red Dead Revolver_ when you get the chance. The controls still feel good to this day, and I've played it for the first time over a year ago. Plus, it came out on the PS4 along with other Rockstar classics like _Bully_ , _Manhunt_ , and the entire _GTA III_ trilogy.
Red Dead Redemption is undoubtedly the best game I have ever played. I'm a sucker for a good story (which isn't a popular opinion since most people favor gameplay over anything else) and RDR felt like a film. Conflict, character development, betrayal, making friends along the way, revenge. An amazing experience, and if RDR2 is half as good, it will still be pretty damn great. I don't expect it to be better to be honest, but I'd love to be surprised.
Ahmed Baobaid it had both. A great story, and great gameplay. Also a greatttt soundtrack, amazing graphics, and such a beautiful scenery. Just riding on top of a mountain in a sunset after a rainy day while the music is playing....the most relaxing vibe i ever felt in a video game
Mr Fantastic92 and not to mention the Mexican storyline and all the differences you see once you cross the border, the people, the language, the animals, and even John himself starts greeting in Spanish. I don't think I've seen this kind of attention to detail in any other open world game. Such a rich experience.
You should try Gun. Another best western game. 1 problem with that game is story is short but once you complete everything you'll find it being bigger all together. For it's own time it had best graphics and big open world. Not big as SA ofc, but enough for everything.

I love red dead redemption. I unfortunately had the ending spoiled while i was mid way through the game, but Id play it again if i wasnt so backed up with other games. I def wanna play the new red as soon as it drops.
Oh my god I just finished Red Dead Redemptions story, and damn that was actually amazing. The ending of chapter 6 really just, felt like a punch in the gut but it payed off in the epilogue. If anyone is considering buying it though I will point some things out. It is a very cinematic and story driven game. There is lots of talking and discussing. It’s almost like an interactive movie. If that’s not the kinda game for you, I’d suggest you pass. But if you’re ok with it it’s incredible. The characters are so memorable and some are likable.
Thinking about it red dead has to be my top game. It’s one of the only games I’ve replayed. I think I’ve played it through 3x including undead nightmare
J Templar Bro same. I have beat it 10 times. It seems like once a year sometimes twice a year I sit down to replay it 100%. I love this game that much. Maybe its the horses. Maybe its Irish and Shakey.
Gun was absolutely incredible. It blew the doors off of red dead during that generation. I remember playing both and gun was just vastly superior in every department.
I loved exploring the open world for countless hours, from tall trees and getting fucked by a bear outta nowhere, to using canons in a castle in mexico. Game is a masterpiece, and I aim to replay it before red dead 2 comes out. Lest us not forget undead nightmare, such an amazing expansion, although I never liked playing it as I felt so alone in the apocalyptic wolrd. Forever joint top for my best game series ever, joint with witcher 3. Just hope it doesn't get rinsed by ten year olds, and the way GTA V was ruined online.
Leocomander I don't blame them it's a billion dollar market with EA and Activision doing it on all of their games so of course they going to do the same
You left out one thing about red dead revolver. The pistol duel mechanics were absolutely epic. It was the only criticism i had of red dead. You used to have to flick your thumbstick down to grab the pistol then draw it back out by flicking up. I thought those duels were the best feature of that game.
They really have no reason to. Midnight Club wasn't too unique, and if brought back, it probably wouldn't be able to compete with the racing game giants of today like Dirt and Forza.
I just downloaded Red Dead 2 today and have to say it's impressive considering it came out 5 years ago. I was never into the open world type games but after hearing so many others talk about it over the years, I decided to give it a try. No disappointment at all. 😊
Red Dead Redemption is still one of my all time favorite games. I still find myself going back and playing it to this day. I think i have played it through completely probably 3 or so times. but mostly I just boot it up and spend hours riding around and messing with the world. it is probably one of the most immersive games i have ever played.
Childhood classic there. Me and my brother were so hyped as kids when we found out they were making another red dead. We lovingly refered to red dead redemption as "Red Dead 2" until they announced an actual red dead 2 lol
I hope RDR2 has just as great of a soundtrack and background music as it’s predecessor had! Plus...as a person who works with crocodilians for a living...I’m so stoked for the inclusion of bayous and alligators in RDR2!!!
I know this is old but if you did not find this out yet, Red Dead 2's soundtaracks are made from the same guy that did them for Red Dead 1. There will be 192 soundtracks if I remember correctly.
I remember spending at least 100 hours on this game, I used to replay the story line and beat the game plus get all of the ingame weapons and items...I did this at least 5 times
What an epic story for an epic game, rdr was the first game i played in the ps3 and i really LOVED IT, really hyped for rdr2 cause ive been waiting for it 8 years jajajajaja
When I first played this, I was near the end and looked up a video on UA-cam because I was stuck at a part, and then I glimpsed at a comment about the ending, I was sooooooo pissed, haha.
Rockstar really outdid their selves on red dead redemption. During that year it was probably the best games I ever played. The beginning to the end..the ending actually made me cry. This is how good this story was. Now RDR2 is coming..time flies.
I loved Red Dead Revolver and my heart beats fast when I think about RDR2 this next week. Have been waiting way to long. Preordered in November 2016 and finally getting it in 2018. Long wait but I know it will be worth it.
I was too young to even remember what the story was about in Red Dead Revolver, all I know is that the guy was named Red and I use to always get killed by my cousins playing multiplayer while we all spent the weekend or summer at our grandfathers house......... ahh good times
Hi there! Long time viewer first time commenter. Would you please start offering your content in 4K video resolution? It makes for a much better experience. 2018 is the year of 4K. Embrace the future yo! love your channel!
We have been slowing doing more 4K content and we recently updated our tech to help us as well. However working with 4K is very taxing so don't expect everything we do to be 4K for a long time. Also these History of videos will probably never be 4K cause it's all older games.
Jean-Luc Seipke thank you for the prompt reply. I know it certainly requires more resources however it will help accentuate your already high quality content.
99% of Australians can barely stream in 1080p so we’re good here. Considering how badly the Government destroyed the potential of the National Broadband Network, we’ll be stuck with 1080p for the next 40 years.
ThePeoplesChamp In Canada gigabit connections are becoming the norm. Gigabit connections are being offered by both major ISP's (Rogers and Bell). Which can stream 4K content from Netflix , Amazon Prime video and UA-cam quite nicely. Thus lots of 4K content is available and it looks amazing!
Jason Tobin you dont seem to understand jason how difficult making 4k videos is. A 17min 4k video would take a day to render even on a very high end machine
I have always been in love with the game Red Dead Redemption when I heard that there was going to be a number two and not just the undead mood I literally cried.
I was so shocked by the ending I thought I had failed and tried multiple times to restart until I realised I couldn't change the outcome. One of my favourite games of all time
I have ALL the Red Dead Soundtracks and I listen to them quite frequently. I am not normally a "Soundtrack" type of person, but all of the music is literally classic, or instantly a modern classic. Finding the OST for the Original RDR was tough.
You shouldnt Criticize Red Dead Revolver as much as you do, If it wasn't for RD Revolver there Never would have been a RD Redemption...And Gun was a very Enjoyable game. And would Love to see it rebooted Or Better yet Gun 2...And those where the Best Westen Games EVER MADE Till Now
Great video, haven't watched a UA-cam video this long for the longest time. The hype is real for rdr2 definitely pre order, yes I know don't pre order any game but it's rockstar, gotta respect it
Pretty sure most of people during 1911 weren't able to swim, and it's not because you would be able to go Mexico early, you can do that in gta 4 aswell.
Who else doesn’t like the title “Red Dead Redemption 2?” I kept telling everyone it wouldn’t be called that since the story couldn’t be continued. They kind of took the easy way out naming it that.
Gustavo Gutierrez it’s because Red dead redemption became a juggernaut at the time and a household name. So if it ain’t broke don’t fix it...that’s how they saw it I assume
Gustavo Gutierrez You're just upset because you were wrong. I sorta feel like Rockstar did it to spite the ones saying it wouldn't be called Red Dead Redemption 2.
Gustavo Gutierrez I'm still pissed about that name but let's wait and see, it might actually be, i don't know, a *REDEMPTION* story. And the name will get more people to buy the game so, yea.
XpertGreek Gamer The first one was a redemption story though. John Marston seeked redemption for his old ways but ultimately ended up failing. That's the irony of it all.
Red Dead Redemption isn't just the best Wild West game ever made, it's also one of the best games in history. The story, characters, world and gameplay that it introduced raised the bar for the video game industry in general. It will forever remain to be one of the greatest representations of the Wild West.
GUN’s story was all but brief and not only was it entertaining but it was engaging and impactful. The gunplay was great, it was gory and bloody. I loved GUN when I was a kid.
Thanks for stopping by! What are some of your favorite memories from Red Dead?

If that’s not the kinda game for you, I’d suggest you pass. But if you’re ok with it it’s incredible. The characters are so memorable and some are likable.
RDR1 online is better than RDR2 online.
McFLY B. Roadz well RDR2 online is only the beta so it’s not good but when the full online comes out it will be so good
@@rosecrean9717 possibly.
But only by a little bit because the online modes for both games aren't that great.
Yeah RDR1 online is still better
@@rosecrean9717 Aged like milk.
RDR2 is BETTER than GTA 5 dont @ me
MemeBoss426 your correct
Facts
I mean generally people are going to "@" you if you post a potentially controversial opinion...but I agree, RDR2 is quite a lot better
@Fridgeman but RDR2 is better by a long shot 😉
Obviously
Thinking about it red dead has to be my top game. It’s one of the only games I’ve replayed. I think I’ve played it through 3x including undead nightmare
J Templar Bro same. I have beat it 10 times. It seems like once a year sometimes twice a year I sit down to replay it 100%. I love this game that much. Maybe its the horses. Maybe its Irish and Shakey.
Ava Van Pelt I normally am not huge on westerns. I’ve always liked fantasy or medieval style more but just something about this game enthralled me
shshshshshshshshshshaaaky..
@@Strengthinevidence played Witcher 3? And if so do you the first RDR is better than the Witcher 3?
Valdimar Rafn that’s tough for me because Witcher is an extremely good game. They might be my 1a and b. Skyrim would be next because of mods etc.
GTA Online ruined Rockstar. Rockstar went from pushing great content on a yearly basis to pushing GTA Online micro transactions.
Nah. Games nowadays are just way more complex to make and R* has all studios working on RDR2.
GTA online is lit tho
With gta online they made like 80.000.000 dollars but ok
lol rdr2 just came out and his comment dont hold up well
Leocomander I don't blame them it's a billion dollar market with EA and Activision doing it on all of their games so of course they going to do the same
You left out one thing about red dead revolver. The pistol duel mechanics were absolutely epic. It was the only criticism i had of red dead. You used to have to flick your thumbstick down to grab the pistol then draw it back out by flicking up. I thought those duels were the best feature of that game.

Galaxy 225 ha ur funny
man i want a new midnight club, did they cancel that franchise ?
Rockstar don't do much anymore
They really have no reason to. Midnight Club wasn't too unique, and if brought back, it probably wouldn't be able to compete with the racing game giants of today like Dirt and Forza.
I would love a new street racing game since most are pro racing. But sadly they are a dying breed like the latest nfs
I remember playing red dead revolver. It was really fun to play when i was a kid. Man the years go by.
Don't let Konami get their hands on the ip. Heaven knows we don't want a Red Dead Survive.
Why in god name would Take2 let this goldmine IP skip from thier hands ?????
lol
funny thing is we already kinda got that with the Undead Nightmare dlc which had a similar premise but of course was a million times better.
Wait, I thought Konami was a Pachinko company?
What does Konami even have to do with this.. the hell are you on mate..
I love how they mention red dead revolver.
I know it wasn’t known by a lot of people but it was still a good game.
Childhood classic there. Me and my brother were so hyped as kids when we found out they were making another red dead. We lovingly refered to red dead redemption as "Red Dead 2" until they announced an actual red dead 2 lol
Red Dead Redemption & The Witcher 3
Best open world games ever!
FreeYourMind not Witcher 3
The "Far Away" moment in rdr is one of the best moments in any game
True
I just wanted to say the ending of RDR2 made me cry for 10 minutes straight
HAH! It had me crying for ten days!!!! Beat that!
I hope RDR2 has just as great of a soundtrack and background music as it’s predecessor had!
Plus...as a person who works with crocodilians for a living...I’m so stoked for the inclusion of bayous and alligators in RDR2!!!
jbroti 004 I believe it will have music as good, even if RDR’s music was awesome. Judging from the trailers’ soundtracks
jbroti 004 rocksatr never fucks up on the sound track never
jbroti 004
Get back to work

I know this is old but if you did not find this out yet, Red Dead 2's soundtaracks are made from the same guy that did them for Red Dead 1. There will be 192 soundtracks if I remember correctly.
What good timing considering trailer 3 has just been announced!
It’s the *REDEMPTION* of the Red Dead series. Buh doom chhhhh.

Want to hear a joke...

Good man
I didn't laugh, but its still constitutes as a joke.

@Aragorn fuck*
Red Dead Revolver was THE best. The level where you got to ride a cow was my favorite.
I remember spending at least 100 hours on this game, I used to replay the story line and beat the game plus get all of the ingame weapons and items...I did this at least 5 times
I’ve never been more proud to have been born in San Diego 😂
Brandon Mota same, knowing that the makers of RDR 2 are just 10 minutes away... so close yet so far
Bruce Wayne I’m proud that we have carne asada fries
The rocks look really realistic there
Roo Smith so you just live in a shithole by choice? Got it.
Same
What an epic story for an epic game, rdr was the first game i played in the ps3 and i really LOVED IT, really hyped for rdr2 cause ive been waiting for it 8 years jajajajaja
That intro was most dopest! I laughed my ass off 😂
Brought back so many memories of Red Dead Redemption when you played that beautiful piece of music at the beginning.
When I first played this, I was near the end and looked up a video on UA-cam because I was stuck at a part, and then I glimpsed at a comment about the ending, I was sooooooo pissed, haha.
red dead redemption is the best game of all time
Hands down best game
And then you play RDR2
And 90% of gamers can't play RDR2 because of the fact that it's not on PC. It's honestly just torture not being able to play RDR2 on PC.
FACT
Agree
82 hundred million dollars to make? This can't be accurate.
steve clark
80 to 100 million dollars
i hope this coment is a joke
I was like
"Wow, that's a lot of money...
Wait, what?"
In his defense, the pauses were very slight making it sound like one word.
steve clark wouldn't that be 8.2 billion 🤣
Very nice that you included a clip of when you first enter Mexico. One of the greatest moments ever in a video game
My wife used to comment that she thought I was watching a movie every time I played Red Dead Redemption without headphones.
There should be more westerns. They're awesome.
Kryptönïtë Scï Fï Sïnïstër shut up nerd
GUN and Red Dead Revolver will always be in my heart.
Rockstar really outdid their selves on red dead redemption. During that year it was probably the best games I ever played. The beginning to the end..the ending actually made me cry. This is how good this story was. Now RDR2 is coming..time flies.
Caroline Flowers How are you liking RDR2 buddy?
And rdr2 will make you cry as well sir
Red Dead Redemption...
Hands down the best game to ever exist
I loved Red Dead Revolver and my heart beats fast when I think about RDR2 this next week. Have been waiting way to long. Preordered in November 2016 and finally getting it in 2018. Long wait but I know it will be worth it.
I miss the old drunk ragdoll mechanics. They better not take it away
They took it away in GTA V, so I wouldn't be surprised :(
Well after watching the new trailer, the drunk physics, or Euphoria, is making a return.
Hands down red dead revolver best sound track
Especially the song from the beginning of the video
I feel like rockstar and the creator's of westworld should do a game inspired by the tv show would be a great story.
I was too young to even remember what the story was about in Red Dead Revolver, all I know is that the guy was named Red and I use to always get killed by my cousins playing multiplayer while we all spent the weekend or summer at our grandfathers house......... ahh good times
The more I learn about how difficult it was to get made, the more I'm convinced it's one of those one off masterpieces that only come around so often.
I never new about that half trigger system in red dead redemption. I always had it set to free aim.
82 hundred million dollars.. nice
I thought I was the only one who noticed! I was looking for a comment like this, lol.
The game cost from 80 Million to 100 Million, 82 Hundred Million would be ridiculous!
80 to 100 million*
Red Dead Redemption is one of the most involving and memorable gaming experiences of my life. It’s true art.
I have always been in love with the game Red Dead Redemption when I heard that there was going to be a number two and not just the undead mood I literally cried.
this game to me is literally flawless.
How many accounts are named "Arthur Morgan"?
Lots partner, lots
Who remembers the western game Gun it was lit
@Kryptönïtë Scï Fï Sïnïstër well i wonder which one made more money
I was so shocked by the ending I thought I had failed and tried multiple times to restart until I realised I couldn't change the outcome. One of my favourite games of all time
Second time watching this in a year. Great video brotha!
should make Red Dead Revolver backward compatible
Ryan Schwab agreed
It is
Ryan Schwab u can buy it on PS4
Wait... DID ROCKSTAR HAVE TABLE TENNIS😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They forgot Rockstar released BULLY
I have ALL the Red Dead Soundtracks and I listen to them quite frequently. I am not normally a "Soundtrack" type of person, but all of the music is literally classic, or instantly a modern classic. Finding the OST for the Original RDR was tough.
Best soundtrack for a videogame. Crossing into mexico and Jose Gonzalez comes blasting into your eardrums. Magnificent.
History of red ded, makes RedDedRevolv review
I don't think you understand how history works.
gingataisen to be fair to Zak, this video did go off on more than one unneeded tangent.
bet you didnt even play any of the games you dipshit
You shouldnt Criticize Red Dead Revolver as much as you do, If it wasn't for RD Revolver there Never would have been a RD Redemption...And Gun was a very Enjoyable game. And would Love to see it rebooted Or Better yet Gun 2...And those where the Best Westen Games EVER MADE Till Now
I still remember you GUN😍😍
Great video, haven't watched a UA-cam video this long for the longest time. The hype is real for rdr2 definitely pre order, yes I know don't pre order any game but it's rockstar, gotta respect it
One of the riskiest project that ended up one of the best of R*, RDR
But why can't you swim D:
DEATH HOLLOW so u dont go to mexico early
+Jimmy Johnson I see your point. But it also took away the immersion :(
Pretty sure most of people during 1911 weren't able to swim, and it's not because you would be able to go Mexico early, you can do that in gta 4 aswell.
Blake Merkuloff yeah im glad they put that in it’s hilarious
Who else doesn’t like the title “Red Dead Redemption 2?”
I kept telling everyone it wouldn’t be called that since the story couldn’t be continued.
They kind of took the easy way out naming it that.
Gustavo Gutierrez it’s because Red dead redemption became a juggernaut at the time and a household name. So if it ain’t broke don’t fix it...that’s how they saw it I assume
Plus its a prequel so thats were
Redemption starts
Gustavo Gutierrez You're just upset because you were wrong. I sorta feel like Rockstar did it to spite the ones saying it wouldn't be called Red Dead Redemption 2.
Gustavo Gutierrez I'm still pissed about that name but let's wait and see, it might actually be, i don't know, a *REDEMPTION* story. And the name will get more people to buy the game so, yea.
XpertGreek Gamer The first one was a redemption story though. John Marston seeked redemption for his old ways but ultimately ended up failing. That's the irony of it all.
RDR2 takes place 12 years before Redemption, not around the same time.
When he made this vid, the game wasn’t released yet. He didn’t know, and neither did anyone else.
Similar era tho.
The best thing this game gave me was the idea that every building has a way in, the online bank was the best place to hold down a bounty in
Red Dead Redemption isn't just the best Wild West game ever made, it's also one of the best games in history. The story, characters, world and gameplay that it introduced raised the bar for the video game industry in general. It will forever remain to be one of the greatest representations of the Wild West.
I think you forgot to mention the call of juarez series
Str8 . That had a solid story line graphics . Gameplay on key
no one remember Red Dead Revolver :(
dieiceNGC I remember Red Dead Revolver
oh hi Mark
dieiceNGC Howdy..
😔
Its bullshit I did not hit her
GUN is a guilty pleasure of mine 😍
“Woah, easy on them baked beans sheriff” 😂 everyone that’s played revolver knows about this
GUN’s story was all but brief and not only was it entertaining but it was engaging and impactful. The gunplay was great, it was gory and bloody. I loved GUN when I was a kid.
