True Utility Smartknife+ review

- This tool performed well for a $25 knife. Some of the features really need to be worked on, but as a back up tool, it is pretty good.
What did you think about this knife? Think it is worth the money? Would this be something that you would want to have to depend on in case of an emergency? Does the multi-feature function of this knife justify some of it's poorer performance issues?

For me this is a great tool since i dont really care about what kind of a knife i have with me, as long as i have something with a sharp edge. The pry tool has been useful multiple times and the bottle opener too. Its not the best quality but for 19€ i thought it was decent value. Great review.
Also i noticed that the pry bar tip has been updated. It thinner now that in the video
I have that knife and i love it. My daily carry
Nice. 👍🏻👍🏻
Great job on the review. Does not look like something I would carry every day but I could see it in the glove box.
Thank you! Yeah, that's what I thought too.
Definitely useful in some situations. After keeping in my truck, the aluminum scales started to corrode, and obscured some of the print.
Interesting. I wouldn't have expected the aluminum to corrode.
I just bought one and I absolutely love it. As far as the tip on the nail puller they must have watched your video because mine is very thin tapered down to a blade almost also my blade is black
Awesome! I am glad to hear that you are enjoying it. That would be awesome if they watched my video and made some changes! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'd probably get this as a kid's first utility knife. But even then I'd look for something better.
Yeah, I know what you mean. It may be a bit big for a kid too. I mean like big for their hands.
@@FittoSurvive
I didn't consider that, hmm!
All I can imagine is a kid constantly cutting themselves trying to use the dumb design to adjust skateboards & etc
A Swiss Army knife or even a little Gerber Dime would be much better for a kid.
@@edwardfletcher7790 😬 That is a possibility too...
Good review. It a novelty knife that could possibly have some use, but nothing to rely on.
Thanks. Can't say that I would want to rely on it either.
It's a very reliable light duty EDC. I use it as my EDC working in a kitchen and at home. Definitely not the one I would carry on a construction job
I carry this as well as many other knifes. The pry bar is useful. It is a work knife. I am not worried about damaging.
I can see what you mean. 👍🏻
I took out the blade so that I could have a blade-less multi tool in school because if you can’t have a knife, find something to substitute for it.
That's a really cool idea. Didn't think about that. Didn't have any trouble with it at school?
Enjoyed the review. Unfortunately this helped me decide NOT to buy one of these but it was definitely useful. If you still have it, I wonder if the serrations are effective on rope? That's usually where serrations are most helpful.
@@fredfinger7092 Thanks! Glad I could help. I ended up giving this knife away. It definitely wasn't one of my favorites. LoL
@@FittoSurvive Thanks, I appreciate the reply.
I've seen it mentioned on another review of this that the only way to really use the wrench is to open the blade which is obviously dangerous. I've had TU multitools before and wasn't too impressed. Apparently they're designed here in the UK and manufactured in China, but even then I'm dubious about them being all designed here because I've seen some identical to Coast multitools (the Multimate, discontinued now). This one probably is UK designed, it has that awkward old-school 70s British Leyland (now defunct) car design about it, not good.
Yeah, trying to fit as much as they could into this multitool really did make it dangerous. 😅
Seems like some of their stuff that they sent had a "designed in Fort Worth, TX - built in China" label on it. 🤷🏼♂️
Yea, you're right. I've had this knife for awhile and it's practically useless. It's not EDC.
I'd prefer a larger version so I could loosen the release and use it as a self defense option
Do you have any suggestions for a replacement option?
There are lots of options if you just want a good pocket knife. But if you are wanting something multifunctional, then I would recommend a Leatherman or a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife.
@@FittoSurvive okay but off the top of your head, which model. Plus I'd like it to multi-task as quick draw self defense knife.
IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?
@@stephangarcia1804 Pocket knives of course are not the best for self defense, but I got what you mean. It depends on your budget. This is Kershaw with the Emerson opening is really nice and has a one-of-a-kind opening method. As you pull it out of your pants pocket it is meant to snag the pocket and open itself with a loud snap. It is both intimidating and a very fast draw option. Here's the link: amzn.to/3rYsDkK
@@FittoSurvive Okay thanks for your expertise! I have a Gerber strong arm but it's way too militaristic looking to be used as EDC amongst civilized folks.🤔🙂
@@FittoSurvive okay, I saw the Kershaw. Good knife but no utility. I guess a good strong knife with relatively quick draw, COMBINED with utility purposes built in, is not an option out there.
Thanks.
I had to buy a second one lol my kids or I lost it. Shoot I don’t even know but the patch to take out the staples I use to cut open a box 😂
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I'd blame the kids. 😉😅
I got one and I think it'll just stay in my truck's glove box
Nice. 😁👍🏻
But how do u use the Phillips bit?
It fits in the "top" of the knife when the blade is closed.
The handle looks really uncomfortable for a tight grip. Lots of hot spots..
They tried to pack too much into it, making it quite uncomfortable for a tight grip.
Wouldn’t buy the knife, but the review was good.
Thank you! 👍🏻👍🏻
those serrations might work better as a saw
Yeah, they might. They are sharp for sure, so it should cut.
its for a match
Could be
looks like a gas station offering to me.
😝 I can see that.
just a glove box toy,
not worth more than $5.00
For sure.
