It takes more effort than it should to turn the wheel, and it was fighting me when i did try turning it in any scenario. It all points to a failing power steering pump!
Would it have a loud clacking noise?? That’s what I have. It goes with the rpm an when I turn the wheel it goes away. Started as a little clicking an now full out knocking loud
I would recommend FCP Euro for their amazing warranty but the price ranges from a couple hundred to about $800 depending on if it's new or re manufactured.
May be buying a used n54 with a bad pump, thanks for the tips and process requirement!

I changed my power steering pump and noise went away

@@DjBoonyc It's the pulley. Yes replacing the pump will fix it.

I get crunching noises when I get to the end of full lock both ways, do you think thats the pump?
