Wow…you are right…so much gorgeous land as part of the price. I would say that God put your family there for many reasons. Your dreams and aspirations true. But to heal the land with your love. Bring unity with neighbors. And create a haven for family. Bravo dear family!!

I planted 150 trees in my garden, small trees but in clumps or for coppicing. I would suggest small saplings bare root and dip them in an enriched mud to 'praline' them as they say here. I had never imagined that they would grow so well and so fast and I lost none. I did prepare the holes really well, dug deep made sure the earth was mobile, put in well decomposed compost, 'corne torrifié' and dried blood depending. Chicken manure also. They grew much bigger and better than the bigger expensive trees I bought thinking that THEY would fill in fast. You could also mix in some fruit trees so you get a return. I would not suggest a 'murier' as the mess is out of this world but figs and pears make interesting trees; Around the edge of my land towards the road I planted forsythia, double lilac, buddlea, snow ball and other flowering trees and shrubs instead of a plain run of same plants. They all grew together and made a lovely hedge. I did plant a varigated Portuguese Laurel to one side and pruned it had to make it into a tight shape, took three years as it is a fast grower and can be pruned hard. We had a whole row of mirabelles on one side and to hide the car port I planted sticks of willow that grew fast and I coppiced them at a metre hight each year. Cost almost zero as you can find willow most places and any branch will grow if stuck in the ground. There is a lovely white rambling rose called 'Wedding day' that I trained over wires through some of the trees making bowers, lovey rose.

I bought a house in France in 2012 with 3/4 acre of land for £68.000. Grew food and had lots of fruit trees on the land, it was a very peaceful life. It’s incredible the amount of land that came with the Chateau. Of course there would have been much more land when the Chateau was built two hundred years ago. Great video Ash.
I looked it up, 10 hectares is about 24 acres, thats a lot of land for the price you paid. You’ve certainly increased the value of your property with all the work you’ve been doing. Thank you 🥰
Ash, please plant trees along the long drive up to the chateau, do it now while you’re young. It will look beautiful
Another excellent tour (with maps)! Thanks for taking the time to walk us through your plans. Does Rob get a little house, too😊? Noticed that Patrick seems to have lost weight. I have a wire haired doxie and know how hard it is to keep them slim. Well done, all!
Haha. Thanks Ellen. We cut his feed back but now he helps himself to eggs 🤣🤣🤣
@@chateaudelalacelle Heh, I saw that episode. Dachshunds are sneaky and resourceful.
The property is absolutely beautiful! I am jealous of Paula and Pete having a cottage there! This property was SO worth the investment.
I wishes I was 40 years of age. Than I would move to france and live the dream❤😊
Thank you 🥰🥰
Beautiful property all the old buildings are magnificent so glad you bought it and restoring it with love it will be beautiful but hasn’t lost its charm with age.
Loved this tour! Also the map really helped. Great job Ash 🥰 🥰 🥰
Whow to have houses for all the family there would be amazing, you have the buildings, thanks ask for the tour I loved Patrick following you around and getting lost in the tall grass

If the old farm portion ever comes on the market, I hope you are able to tie the place back together, And an orchard would be a great addition.
Wow, wonderful tour of your land. Good to hear about some of your ideas. Wishing you all the best in the years to come.
👍👍Enjoyed so much!💖
Thanks for the tour. I’ve only seen the chateau and cottage before.
Thanks for the tour. Much enjoy following your journey 😊
Good for you ! You are so lucky to find such a wonderful place. Enjoy every minute!
Absolutely fantastic! 👍🏼😀🇬🇧
thank you for the tour. It’s nice to be able to understand where everything is. The good news is you obviously have plenty to keep you occupied for years to come. The bad news is you still have plenty to keep you occupied for years to come!❤
Wow….just stunning and enough work to keep you off the streets and out of mischief as my old mum would say lol
Thanks for the tour Terry. That was fun. What a beautiful piece of property. I know you have worked very hard but boy oh boy you're having a lot of fun restoring the buildings and property. Catch you on the next one ❤
That’s Ash (presume Terry was filming). 😊
Oh I'm so sorry! Of course it's Ash I don't know what I was thinking. Sorry Ash I really do know the difference. ❤️
