- The Chateau de Bridoire (Dordogne) was abandoned for more than 30 years, before being restored by the Guyot family.
It now belongs to Alice Guyot, daughter of Catherine and Jacques Guyot, who drives alone this castle which welcomes more than 60,000 visitors per year.

Wonderful video. The narrator (even dubbed) was charming and full of interesting stories and theories about the chateau. Perhaps a monthly update on UA-cam would gather more participants in the guise of volunteers or maybe a Patreon account to allow others (far away like myself) to participate? It's so wonderful to see these places being preserved for the future. Because in that future more people could come and see the renovations and hopefully the completion and beauty of the estate. Admirable, the restoration. We're currently renovating a 175 year old stone cottage in southern India and I can only imagine the challenges and commitment in restoring an entire chateau, and also keeping it in character.

One suggestion I would make is to get a news story going in your region about repatriation of the original fireplaces, artworks etc. I am sure there would be people that would be prepared to do that as a point of pride in helping you restore the castle ❤
What a beautiful chateau. Alot of work. There are many churches that are being torn down -- maybe you can find one and ask to take the stainglass windows...even if they don't fit..maybe they can be adapted to fit.

As beautiful as this chateau was and continues to be, I found it heartbreaking to see the condition this masterpiece of architecture was. What is it about human nature that people would find such pleasure in deliberately smashing, ravishing and destroying beautiful examples of such beauty as this chateau certainly once was. I am so happy that the chateau is back in loving and caring arms.

What an awesome castle. The young girl giving the tour is so cute. Not sure what “tagged” means but I can assume it’s like graffiti?… When looking at the entrance and the driveways is a beautiful Porsche 911 just waiting for a drive through the French countryside.

Did I miss the part where it was said she is the OWNER? Her parents are the owners who bought it for 700K Euro when she was just a child and as far as the records show they are still the owners but it is nice at 27 she has a very cool spin on living at home for free in her parent's place 😆
I guarantee you its not free. The maintenance alone is astronomical. She has an amazing family. Hope you do too.

I guess by these standards I own a place in Cannes, one in London, one in rural Spain and a place in Vancouver since that's where my parents own homes 😆 Yes with every home you have maintenance, that's only not true if you a renter, that's real basic 101 real estate.

She's the owner as it belongs to her family.
Her family buys and restores chateaus in France, there’s also a young man that owns a chateau that has a video just like this. It may be her brother 🤷🏻♀️. They tittle it like she bought it, not so. Its her family’s.
