- Today I am building up my new hardtail mountain bike, the Scott Scale 925. This is a carbon XC MTB racing machine.
Currently it is on sale for $1,800 from $2,600 here www.avantlink....
I just moved back to the US from Vietnam and was looking for a new XC MTB to ride the local MTB trails. My last two mountain bikes were Scott hardtail MTBs so when I saw that this model was on sale with the updated Scott Scale geometry, I knew this was the one.

It's official, Cruise is back in the US and back on some dirt! It's a bit bittersweet though since sadly Thuong won't be appearing in many videos here on TWC for the next few months as we are waiting for her visa application still. We'll keep you guys updated as our situation changes and hope you enjoy seeing bits and pieces of our new home in the next upcoming videos.

The theory behind the torx bits (star bolt) is that the shape allows more area of contact and reduces the probability of stripping the head out. In my experience though, they're the same as hex heads haha replace them and like you said, one less tool to pack 😂. Congratulations on the new bike brother, nice rig

Congratulations on the bike. It was really an excellent price. I have the exact same model but from 2021. It's a very fast and responsive bike on the trails. You're going to love it.

Excellent bike, very versatile, XC is the new gravel bike. Integrated headset is not difficult to mantain unless you an armchair mechanic lol.

Sick dude. Years ago, as my first bike as an adult I got a fixie per your recommendation. Ive gone through a few phases by now and have made it all the way to xc. Sweet bike. Ive been eyeing the Team Marin 2 as an upgrade from my current xc bike. This scott scale is sweet though!

Hey man - I like a bit of 'rise' on my bars. The Nukeproof Sam Hill riser bar gives me 38mm rise and 78cm wide. Will the brake hoses reach the higher bars ?? - thanks

Nice upgrade do you have wobbly tires on rear and front I just bought new Scott aspect 920 2022 and Kenda tires wobbles too much rims are straight.

I wonder why you dislike fitting a bell on the handlebar, since they are essential to warn people who have not heard you coming, especially dog walkers. I know in the US people mostly use cars, but surely there must be walkers down the mud trails ?!

Finally a proper bike again 😃 But the weight seems very high considering it's a carbon frame xc race bike.
I assume by "starbolt" you mean Torx? Those are pretty common nowadays and most mini tools come with a T25. Your brake disc rotors most likely have torx screws as well.
Yeah, it was a bit heavier than I was expecting, but probably mostly the wheels. Should be a lot better once I upgrade those. I had to buy a "modern" multi tool to bring with this bike 😂
Thats a nice deal. Setting up tubeless isn't too hard. Put in the effort to get a good tape job and the rest follows much easier.

The red bit on the front axle lever is just for transportation protection. Needs to be slid off. :)

Nice color nice bike!im pleased you bought a mountain for your home state it should help with the u tubs coming I will tell co linh you are back in the USA awaiting Em Thuong her journey to the USA should and I believe will be highly viewed !I have of course been very pleased with the u tubs I am grading all in the A rating a A Plus recently I do miss Japan at times but viet nam is in my wheel house Michigan here we come great state !

Hello, I've just received my bike today (same model - same year), and I have a small question about the connection between fork and bike frame. I have a small 'wiggle' when I lift the front wheel from the ground and drop it back, the feel that movement it's happening all the time. Do you have any ideea why, and how can I fix this? Thank you in advance.
Maybe check the stem cap bolt to make sure there is no play

I’m partial to Trek, but that Scott looks like a solid deal. From what the video shows, the assembly looked straight forward. I like the tan sidewalls on the tires. That rear cog looks like a dinner plate! I like the color of the paint and the styling of the frame. I’m eager to see your next video reviewing the ride.
My first tan walls on a MTB, but I must say they do look pretty nice, especially with this frame color

MTB bikes aren’t in fashion nowadays. Nowadays road and gravel bikes rule the world.
I’ve noticed that, but not gonna stop me from enjoying some trails 😁
Not so in Europe, XC mountain biking is huge.
If MTB had bigger front cog something like 44 T, hard front fork, 1 cm narrower tires, and less weight, and narrower handlebars, they certainly would be more popular.
