Thanks, I'm very pleased with it, it's a funny thing, I didn't think I'd use a tote that much in such a small workshop, but it is in constant use, having a place for the most common items really helps. Thanks for your comment and watching the vid
Thanks Simon, that's a worthwhile addition to your little tote, they do tend to end up a dumping ground and the tool you want is always lurking at the bottom !
I like the tool tote, and am thinking about making one. Do you keep it on your workbench or do you keep duplicates of all the tools there? I like the calm way you made the voiceover and didn't use distracting music. I have decided to subscribe.
Thanks for the sub. :-) I'm glad you like my videos :-) I generally keep it on my workbench or WorkMATE or when they are too messy on the floor next to where I am working.
Thanks for the Advice Mark, I'll try that next time, I think, my grinding with the conical bit heated up sufficiently to remove the hardening and hence, why on reflection, the drill then worked, next time, will definitely try the torch to soften/remove the hardening. :-)
Hi, Yes! And thanks for asking! I did consider it, but I've not had a great deal of luck gluing PLA to wood, and I didn't want a grid over the whole bottom of the tote. The little triangular strip seems to be enough to keep the parts bins from moving, and out the way of anything loose in the tote. I am a maker at heart, rather than a wood worker, and having the choice to decide on the right material opens up more possibilities and for this project I felt wood was the right choice. :-)
Brilliant to use thin stock for weight & more room inside. I question leaving the spade bits pointing up, guaranteed if gore myself reaching in, i used a 2" (50mm) plastic pipe & made wood plugs to hold spade bits inside w/a bit of foam on the points side; i have to slide them out ~half way to pick the correct bit but that works quickly enough
It is a very valid point you raise, the spade bits live on the wall, I was really just trying to demonstrate the flexibility of incorporating the gridfinity system into the tote, all my drill bits are stored in gridfinity compatible 'mounts' that I designed a few years back. Thanks for the comment.
A brilinat addtion to a great tote!

Very true, I'm already reaping the benefits :-)
Brilliant. Something that isn't made out of 18mm ply or 25mm MDF. I've landed here by algorithm but I'm interested to see the rest of the channel.
How kind of you, I hope you enjoy the rest of my videos :-)
Nice structured tool sorting.
Thanks! All the prep, laying out the tools I use regularly really paid off, the tool tote itself I find I'm now using all the time :-)
Hi from hull UK,
Hello there! Welcome aboard!

Should have used a sharpened masonry bit to drill hole in hardened steel blade
Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely try that next time.
Need to use a torch on the saw blade to remove the hardening where the holes go. Then drill.
Thanks for the Advice Mark, I'll try that next time, I think, my grinding with the conical bit heated up sufficiently to remove the hardening and hence, why on reflection, the drill then worked, next time, will definitely try the torch to soften/remove the hardening. :-)
Was there a reason you didn't print a gridfinity grid for your storage boxes?
