I love this band sooooooo much thanks to how much talent Noah has. He worked so hard, and for so long for this band.

Wow, that was different and refreshing Dr Dan!
I've heard of Cottagecore and Grandmacore but not Metalcore 😂..it was very cool that as I was watching and listening, those interesting features like Sebastian's flipping his voice and also allowing the other instruments to do heavy lifting also struck me at exactly the same time!
He does have an excellent clean sound.
I wonder if someone like Leo Sayer( more my vintage !) is another example of clean vocal tone for the majority of the work, but easily leaps to higher pitches, grit and growl/ disturbed vocals... albeit to a lesser degree.
    Really appreciated your analysis here👍👍😊

What a lovely reaction, and i also learned a lot. He uses so many different techniques and so seemlessly on Just Pretend, i recommend that one if you're interested!

Thank you for your analysis...Noah's singing journey inspires so much respect...from starting Bad Omens as a teenager, teaching himself songwriting, producing, learning everything to improve their band...and then finding his beautiful voice with their TDOPOM album...there is mad respect and even beauty in the ability to create amazing low register growls and screams as well...to appreciate the other end of his singing spectrum please experience Dethrone Live...a song of anger at God for the loss of a loved one...Noah Sebastian is argueably the best vocalist and can sing any genre of music

When first heard their song just pretend on Til tok, it caught my attention automatically, and this isn’t my type of music choice but, the way he sings it is now. I knew he would blow up because of how talented he is with everything

Can you make an analysis on his latest lives? Especially Dethrone (Live) from 2023 or 2024! Thanks!

Can you make another video explaining how noah can do both clean and unclean vocals. Is it hard to imitate Noah style of singing?

Unclean vocals (distortion) is where the engagement of false vocal folds are used. These false vocal folds come together. It is not hard if you know how to do it. Knowing how to do it requires regular training to condition how you use your voice which becomes muscle memory (habit). Muscle strength and muscle coordination in your vocal tract is key and is the goal of regular correct practice which is ideal under supervision and guidance of a vocal coach or voice teacher.
From Wikipedia on the article "Vocal Cords" (Sub heading: False Vocal Folds): They have a minimal role in normal phonation, but are often used to produce deep sonorous tones in Tibetan chant and Tuvan throat singing, as well as in musical screaming and the death growl vocal style. (there are pictures of where the false vocal folds are if you Google)

Great question! Mimicking Noah's style can be challenging due to the distinct techniques involved. Distorted vocals often use approaches like vocal fry, false fold singing, and growling to create that unique sound. Each method requires careful practice to master without straining the voice. Ths Charismatic Voice has been doing scientific research with the University of Utah on harsh vocals with Will Ramos the singer for the death metal band Lorna Shore. You should check out the videos. They are absolutely fascinating. It's incredible to see how Will manipulates his voice to create unreal sounds.

    Thank you! New subscriber!
I have been searching for this type of info since i saw Sam Cieri of Nicotine Dolls perform and i couldn't understand how he gets his voice so raspy until i watched your video on Vocal Folds from March 26th. Now I'm obsessed with the sound. His speaking voice and singing voice are like watching two different people and he has stated that he uses his false vocal folds and does not strain at all. It's so interesting how some artists can control their voices this way. Wish I could.
    Thank you for the lesson.
This is his audition on AGT in 2022 if you are interested.
