Eggs never seem to roll down those fancy storage racks very well; but if you sit one on the counter and turn your back it'll roll onto the floor right away 😅
I will never understand why I click these videos so quick when I know I have zero intention on ever buying an egg gadget, or really any gadget you show. Props to you for that.
The orange egg cracker can be made to not break yolks, I glued half a toothpick under the metal, on both sides, so they can't poke in as far. No more broke yolk!!
I remember a few years back GE made a "Smart" egg tray. It (intermittently) talked to an app to keep track of how many eggs you had left, and how long each egg had been sitting in the tray. (Because looking in the carton to see how many you have, and keeping an eye on the expiration date is Too Hard, I guess.) As you might guess, it was not a success.
The only way I see a plastic egg holder being useful is if you have access to farm fresh eggs that don't come in a carton, so you have to store them yourself.
Yolk is naturally gonna float to the top of the egg, you should try the egg cracker with it upside down over the bowl so the metal prongs go in from the bottom and thus won’t hit the yolk.
The Eggstra just seems to take up more height in the fridge and you cant stack anything on top (like 2 packs of eggs). Just seems like more work transferring them in and out (and the added chance of dropping/knocking them) than using the carton that protects the eggs. None of these pass the usefulness test to me.
The egg cartons that they are sold in also keep them fresher longer. Even my friends who have chickens will reuse containers from store bought eggs to store their eggs in.
These dispensers not only help organize your eggs but also make it simple to access them, especially when cooking or baking. They can be particularly useful for maintaining the freshness of eggs and ensuring easy access to them without taking up much space in your kitchen.😀
Egg gadgets tend to be one of the purist examples of overthinking a non-issue, or otherwise an extremely specific/niche use-case, which is typically perfect for As Seen On TV-style stuff. It's very entertaining to watch them in use though, thanks for the review!
The egg carton serves the purpose of keeping eggs from absorbing odors from the other foods in the refrigerator but I guess if your household uses eggs quickly, the egg dispensers might work nicely.
The egg cartons that they are sold in also keep them fresher longer. Even my friends who have chickens will reuse containers from store bought eggs to store their eggs in.
Everything I've read about storing eggs say to keep them in the container you bought them in. I used to store my eggs in the plastic container that came with my fridge until I read about properly storing eggs.
I often have more than a dozen eggs in my fridge and I just use the cartons they come in, putting the older carton on the bottom. Never had a problem with that (over 40 years). If I have only a few eggs and I’m in need of space, I cut the empty part of the carton off. I’ve had a plastic egg carton, that has a lid, for years which I use occasionally if the store carton gets wet or an egg breaks on the way home from the store and I need to remove the eggs. All of the egg storage (or cracking) devices I see here or online seem to make things more complicated.
I'm definitely going for the "Generic Egg Dispenser." We have chickens and I collect 3-5 eggs everyday. It's a trick to keep track of them and use the oldest eggs first. With the dispenser, I can just add the incoming eggs to the top and cook eggs coming off the bottom. Love it!
I believe the egg cutters are more for Japanese bento boxes rather than deviled eggs, which is why they have the smiley face stamps on the ends (and why the the packaging looked like it was probably in Japanese lol.) Love the channel! 😊
Definitely looks like a bento tool. I'd love to use them for devilled eggs or hard boiled eggs for a party though. And yeah that's definitely katakana on the back
Egg cracker works great if you bake a lot. We do a lot of baking, and I have arthritis in both hands, this has made baking easier and I'm not getting shell fragments to scoop out.
For the egg cracker: if the reason you're breaking the yolk every time is due to it floating, just turn the egg cracker upside down *before* inserting the metal pokers. You're going to put it in that position to open it and drop the egg anyway. The egg-star space requires you to reach to the eggs to take them out, so unless you're storing things behind it as it gets smaller it isn't helping. If you cannot reach what you put behind it then how is it saving space? The other egg dispenser looked like a bad idea over all and did not work reliably. The deviled egg cutter worked just fine though I don't know how necessary that gadget was. One can do that by hand. Though I guess it is nice for those who cannot otherwise do it by hand. So to me your first two products displayed were the winners today even if they're not strictly needed. The third one seemed pointless if you really think about things are put in the fridge and the last one was a total flop.
I agree the last two items were unnecessary if not useless. And what would you do if you bought a second dozen eggs? Most people stack the egg cartons on top of each other, but you couldn't with these products. The last one was the worst because it caused the eggs to fall against each other at one of the weakest part of the egg. I think the deviled egg cutter was a good idea and it's really quick. Something even later age kids could do reliably as deviled eggs are usually among some of the earliest cooking recipes for kids because it's so easy. As for the egg cracker, I'm not sure if the egg yolk floats or not, but if the metal insert was wider and not deeper, it might have worked just as well without cutting into the yolk no matter what direction it was held in. The only restriction might be the required size of the eggs you would need to use with it. I've never known anyone to buy small or medium sized eggs, but an insert might take care of that, too.
The collapsible egg holder gives a false sense of more room in the fridge. There's only more room if you are down to two eggs and don't buy more. Restocking will expand it out again. You could just stack two egg cartons and use the same space and store double the eggs.
Another eggceptional and eggcellently eggsecuted video! I get so eggcited by seeing such eggstraodinary and eggstremely thought out egg gadgets! All yolking aside, shell I spend money on these?
I believe the egg decorator cutting tools are pretty good if you're making deviled eggs for a gathering. Seems like they're just long enough to go lengthwise too which would help with not overlapping cuts in the egg. I feel like the cutters could be improved but over all not a bad product.
Am I the only one who thought the deviled eggs were awfully sloppy? It’s faster and more attractive to cut them with a knife. I’d never put those things on a tray to serve guests.
I've been using the HapiLeap Fridge Drawer Organizer for about a year now. It attaches under a shelf and holds at least 18 eggs. Out of the way, and very sturdy.
I believe the first gadget may work better if you put the egg in and close it. Then, instead of pushing the prongs into the egg, just tap the prongs on the counter, just like you would crack an egg without the gadget. I think that would crack the shell without breaking the yolk (unless you tapped it hard enough to push the prongs all the way in).
Could one prong be used to crack it? And maybe light press once you puncture it, would that make sure no broken yolks, just open it like you would a normal egg
Prongs need to be in to hold the shell but instead of opening with the prongs on the bottom use it sideways will not break the yolk i bet it is not the cracking that breaks it it is the dispensing
As always a great video, you have the most logical and thorough reviews out there. You ask all the questions that I'm thinking as you're testing the items and approach them with fair measurements and tests
As someone who makes scrambled eggs multiple times a week and still struggles to not get egg and shell all over, the egg cracker might be just what I need. The fact that it cracks the yolk is an added bonus.
Just have a wire frame basket for eggs, it is shaped like a chicken and holds about 25 large eggs, a few more after a game of tetris. We store them in the cupboard because eggs aren't washed here in Australia.
That Eggstra Space storage thing seems like a nice idea but then it's like. Are you going to rearrange everything in your fridge as the number of eggs decreases? It doesn't seem very helpful, and you're still wasting so much space on top of it. Personally I use a storage bin that came with a previous refrigerator (that I've kept around) that stores 12 eggs and is stackable, and I usually put other stuff on top of it. Which you can also do with, y'know, an egg carton.
The Egg Cracker, in your final conclusion, you forgot the Positive Point of no shell pieces in the bowl. This is an outcome that you & countless others wanted.
My egg dispenser from Amazon works great. I put them in from the top as my chickens lay. I like that it helps me keep the oldest ones served first and it accepts eggs of all different sizes.
2 notes. Egg cracker prolly wont crack yolk if u push prongs up into yolk instead of down into it. Yolk floats. 2. I have that temu egg roller. Top layer rolls much better if u stack the back egg on top of the bottom so you're actually fitting 15
Beside not being about to stack anything on top of the eggstra, it still wastes space unless you are going to put stuff behind it which needs to be tested. Fill it up then take it in and out of the fridge
The egg dispensing gadgets are fine and all (and the "Eggstra Space" dispenser is kind of a neat idea), but they seem unnecessary as eggs already come in a dispenser from the store (and some fridges have a built in spot for eggs if you want to take them out of the carton).
I'm in the camp of "broken yolk is fine". When I fry eggs for a meal, I put them in the pan, then use the flipper to break the yolk (because I like my eggs over hard). Then, when I'm making scrambled eggs, omeletes or using the eggs in baking, well, the yolks aren't supposed to survive, so breaking it is also fine! Neat egg cracker but honestly, I think it's faster to just do it by hand. The egg cutters are cute. The Egg-stra Space is a neat gadget, but I never have enough stuff in the fridge to find an egg carton to be taking up too much space. I agree that the other one with the ramp is not a good idea.
Have you ever reviewed the "Crack 'em"? It's for cracking eggs, but it's just a piece of molded plastic with a ridge down the middle. Dirt cheap and works great breaking open eggs.
With the collapsible one I feel like they would be really susceptible to getting bumped and knocked over as you're taking other things in and out of the fridge.
The egg duspenser upper rack needs to be a few more degrees angle to work properly. To compensate for the fact that not everyones house is perfectly level.
The eggstra space is a cool idea but if you use eggs enough your gonna keep egg’s stocked up so by the time your saving any real space you’ll be buying more
on the cutters, I kind of wonder if length wise wouldn't work better if you.... -Start on a long edge -"roll" the cutter around the egg instead of rolling the egg on the cutter.
Both are awkward lol.. Takes more work to set it up. Very niche product if you're super limited in space and this thing fits perfectly. They should just make an egg dispenser instead of an ice dispenser for fridges by default haha
Love the egg cracker. It is the best of all those I tried. You can do it without cracking the yolk, it just takes a little practice. Let it sit with the prongs upright for a few seconds for the yolk to drop by gravity. Perfect yolk every time.
In Australia, we are advised to store fresh eggs in the original cardboard container in which they were sold. This protects the eggs from damage as well as preventing them from contamination by absorbing bacteria and odours from other foods in the fridge because the shells are porous.
The Eggstra Space (collapsible egg caddy) is by far the best product of the bunch in this batch. I know you were pulling it forward during the fridge demo to show the action to the camera, but in a "real world" application, it's supposed to be tucked into the corner, and you simply collapse it into the back while going through the dozen eggs, instead of a mostly empty box after you make a few breakfasts. I'm also curious about the fridge demo overall. Did you simply move them into the fridge, and start recording, or did you let the devices come down to fridge temperature? I think a big part of why the "dispenser" gave you trouble was because the plastic was room temperature, and more flexible than it would be after chilling. Don't get me wrong, I was terrified the entire time you used it, but I want it to make sure it gets a fair shake.
The best egg cracking tool I ever used was the old one from the as seen on TV ads that was white and you put the egg in the little holder at the end and pull the handles together and a small razor blade cracked the egg. I had one and loved it. I didn't use the little yolk catcher attachment very often but as far as it cracking eggs it worked well. I personally think it was one of the best egg cracking models.
The thing about the eggtra space is you really can’t use the space in front of the thing. You’ll have to move whatever takes the space when you want to get another egg.
My mom recently questioned why I was watching him review hotdog gadgets when I hate hot dogs. 😂
The orange egg cracker can be made to not break yolks, I glued half a toothpick under the metal, on both sides, so they can't poke in as far. No more broke yolk!!
Egg holding devices are always so odd to me. I always leave them in the box/container they come in
Oh and stop buying from Temu!
The only one that seems useful was the rolling one, if they made the angle a little steeper it would be better.
I remember a few years back GE made a "Smart" egg tray. It (intermittently) talked to an app to keep track of how many eggs you had left, and how long each egg had been sitting in the tray. (Because looking in the carton to see how many you have, and keeping an eye on the expiration date is Too Hard, I guess.)
As you might guess, it was not a success.
The only way I see a plastic egg holder being useful is if you have access to farm fresh eggs that don't come in a carton, so you have to store them yourself.
Makes sense. It is designed to hold them after all. XD
Yolk is naturally gonna float to the top of the egg, you should try the egg cracker with it upside down over the bowl so the metal prongs go in from the bottom and thus won’t hit the yolk.
My thought exactly.
THANK YOU OMG.... SITTING HERE SCREAMING AT THE SCREEN!
Ha ha thank you
Yup. He’s usually more thorough and smarter than this.
You're not smart.......he cracked it on the side......great story
Love your channel, been a viewer for years. I think all of these items fall in the category of not necessary.

Just seems like more work transferring them in and out (and the added chance of dropping/knocking them) than using the carton that protects the eggs. None of these pass the usefulness test to me.

I love and have been using the rolling egg dispensers for a while now and no complaints!
These dispensers not only help organize your eggs but also make it simple to access them, especially when cooking or baking. They can be particularly useful for maintaining the freshness of eggs and ensuring easy access to them without taking up much space in your kitchen.😀
These gadgets will end up taking space in kitchen drawers and finally end up at Goodwill.
Egg gadgets tend to be one of the purist examples of overthinking a non-issue, or otherwise an extremely specific/niche use-case, which is typically perfect for As Seen On TV-style stuff. It's very entertaining to watch them in use though, thanks for the review!
I think the slider is a perfect example of “just because it’s cheaper, doesn’t mean it’s a better deal”
Some eggs he didn't put sideways. They must be sideways to roll.
I love how this guy reviews the most randoms stuff and makes it entertaining
The egg carton serves the purpose of keeping eggs from absorbing odors from the other foods in the refrigerator but I guess if your household uses eggs quickly, the egg dispensers might work nicely.

Yeah, I won't say I'm perfect at it, but that text seems to be Japanese to my eye, and I can see that they would like it for cute bento for children.
Definitely looks like a bento tool. I'd love to use them for devilled eggs or hard boiled eggs for a party though.
And yeah that's definitely katakana on the back
You may be right, and they've repurposed them by marketing them as a deviled eggs tool, as their Amazon and Temu listings show!
Egg cracker works great if you bake a lot. We do a lot of baking, and I have arthritis in both hands, this has made baking easier and I'm not getting shell fragments to scoop out.

Well, the deviled egg cutter did make decorative cuts; those would be hard to do by hand quickly.
Glad you tested two dispensers... you don't wanna put all you eggs in one basket!!!
Another example of a solution looking for a problem.
The collapsible egg holder gives a false sense of more room in the fridge. There's only more room if you are down to two eggs and don't buy more. Restocking will expand it out again. You could just stack two egg cartons and use the same space and store double the eggs.
Exactly what I do so I had the same reaction.
Another eggceptional and eggcellently eggsecuted video! I get so eggcited by seeing such eggstraodinary and eggstremely thought out egg gadgets! All yolking aside, shell I spend money on these?
A+! Very Punny!
😂😂
The rolling egg dispenser is like the soda dispenser we used to have. It got bothersome to load after awhile.
No doubt about it, James is quite the eggxpert!
I believe the egg decorator cutting tools are pretty good if you're making deviled eggs for a gathering. Seems like they're just long enough to go lengthwise too which would help with not overlapping cuts in the egg. I feel like the cutters could be improved but over all not a bad product.

I was waiting for the smiley face in the boiled egg😂
Me too!😊
I've been using the HapiLeap Fridge Drawer Organizer for about a year now. It attaches under a shelf and holds at least 18 eggs. Out of the way, and very sturdy.
Just bought one thanks to you haha have to try it out
Dang he does so many egg gadgets he has a dedicated egg fridge
I believe the first gadget may work better if you put the egg in and close it. Then, instead of pushing the prongs into the egg, just tap the prongs on the counter, just like you would crack an egg without the gadget. I think that would crack the shell without breaking the yolk (unless you tapped it hard enough to push the prongs all the way in).
Prongs have to be inside the shell to separate them. They made it long so it can work with different sized eggs. Maybe too long.
Maybe if you don't flip it upside down but release the egg sideways the prongs might not cut into the yolk.
Turn the contraption with the prongs on the bottom. Problem solved.
Thanks for showing support for Maui. Aloha.
Brandon: Hey dad wanna have dinner tonight?
James: Sure! How do you feel about eggs with a side of eggs? 😆
I have enjoyed this channel for years now. Thank you for the great content, sir!! 💯
I bought my wife a waffle maker of his recommendation. She loves it! ( i don't eat waffles or pancakes 🤢)
Egg Lord Returns 😅
These are eggzactly the type of reviews I come here for.
As always a great video, you have the most logical and thorough reviews out there. You ask all the questions that I'm thinking as you're testing the items and approach them with fair measurements and tests
All of these are just ways to empty your bank account.
Love the egg cracker. I always get shell in my scrambled eggs
I love the EZ CRACKER that you tested, use it every time.
Those little egg cutters are adorable!
The producer of the egg cracker should make the points on the prongs shorter.
Well.....cracking an egg is too complicated? Good Ole fashioned way is best
I had a garage band named "The Broken Yokes" back in the day.
Eggs come with a free storage dispenser.

I don't know why but you often make me laugh and I thank you!
The Egg Cracker, in your final conclusion, you forgot the Positive Point of no shell pieces in the bowl. This is an outcome that you & countless others wanted.
The Eggstra Space is also a visual reminder when you need to purchase eggs without having to open the container
Cant wait for the update vid on this one. Thanks as always James!
Eggs keep better in a closed container. I wouldn't bother with those dispensers.
My egg dispenser from Amazon works great. I put them in from the top as my chickens lay. I like that it helps me keep the oldest ones served first and it accepts eggs of all different sizes.
Eggs cartons are better than either of those egg holders and one heck
of a lot cheaper and compact!
Cheers,
Rik Spector
Cracking all those eggs, this video had to be one of your most expensive ever made
Do not press the prongs all the way in to stop avoid breaking the yolk. Just press them slowly until you hear a crack and open 😉
If I need to buy a gadget to crack an egg I'm just going to stop cooking forever
I never thought that going through life that I had to worry about my egg yoke being broken.
Ok ive made up my mind im officially going to create an egg product just to get it reviewed here lol
Am I the only one that wanted to see him close the egg-stra space hard while it was still loaded up and just guillotine a dozen eggs?
Probably.
@@BrittMFH 😆
I stack two cartoons on top of each other in the fridge. I’m fine with that. Your deviled eggs looked good!
The egg dispensing gadgets are fine and all (and the "Eggstra Space" dispenser is kind of a neat idea), but they seem unnecessary as eggs already come in a dispenser from the store (and some fridges have a built in spot for eggs if you want to take them out of the carton).

I am not going to lie this will be the last Egg Gadgets video I will watch. way to many.
Thanks James ❤
The problem with the Eggstra Space is that you want your eggs to be as far back in the fridge as possible.
you didnt test the smiley face feature on the fancy cutter
Just a thought for egg cracker. Put the egg in and crack it the other way around. Not facing up. Who knows ?
30 egg gadgets, and now another 4. You have lots of junk in your house. :)
I appreciate no #2 in a product I order from the Internet. Thanks!
Ahhh yes, egg dispenser, a.k.a. "the carton the eggs came in." I get a free one every time I buy eggs!
Thanks for the video
Egg dispenser might work better if you close the fridge door afterwards. The slight rumble might make it eggs fall
On the iPhone you can take a pic of a foreign language and you can translate it. I love the eggstra space!
You didn't stamp the smiley face into the eggs...😭😭😭🤭😂
The egg duspenser upper rack needs to be a few more degrees angle to work properly. To compensate for the fact that not everyones house is perfectly level.
The generic dispenser looks just like soda can dispensers I've seen.
Egg slid holder would also be good on the counter for holding the eggs at room temperature for baking.
Extra space one. :)
Love your uploading consistency! You’re my favorite creator too watch during my lunch break! Without fail engaging content!
Edit: (spelling errors)
The eggstra space is a cool idea but if you use eggs enough your gonna keep egg’s stocked up so by the time your saving any real space you’ll be buying more
The egg cutter has on the package so these are probably meant for bento boxes.
I wouldn't spend a dime on any of those.
on the cutters, I kind of wonder if length wise wouldn't work better if you....
-Start on a long edge
-"roll" the cutter around the egg instead of rolling the egg on the cutter.
Both are awkward lol.. Takes more work to set it up. Very niche product if you're super limited in space and this thing fits perfectly.
They should just make an egg dispenser instead of an ice dispenser for fridges by default haha
Yes!!! The Egg Guy is back!!!
The Egghead does an eggstrodinary job at egg product reviews.
Egg gadgets on Freakin' Reviews? Hell, yes.
Starting off a great Sunday, Freakin!
We always buy 5 dozen eggs at a time (big family!) so there aren’t really egg dispensers for that many eggs. We just keep them in the trays.
Love the egg cracker. It is the best of all those I tried. You can do it without cracking the yolk, it just takes a little practice. Let it sit with the prongs upright for a few seconds for the yolk to drop by gravity. Perfect yolk every time.
The egg cracker will work for me since I only like my eggs scrambled. i may have to get this one. Thanks for the video. Great job😊
In Australia, we are advised to store fresh eggs in the original cardboard container in which they were sold. This protects the eggs from damage as well as preventing them from contamination by absorbing bacteria and odours from other foods in the fridge because the shells are porous.

I would just keep them in the box, don't use eggs up fast enough for a gadget,. Also, I think keeping them in the carton is a safer place.
(The google translate app has a great camera function to read and translate text in things like the back of the cutters!)
The best egg cracking tool I ever used was the old one from the as seen on TV ads that was white and you put the egg in the little holder at the end and pull the handles together and a small razor blade cracked the egg.
