Do you know what else you can store eggs in? An egg carton that comes with the eggs. This has to be the most pointless gadget on one of these videos. Most of the others do something to varying levels of success. This only adds a few steps to getting eggs from the fridge.
the egg one might work better if the top bit was angled slightly upward to provide a slope to force the eggs back. my sister got something like it for pop cans
Yeah the lid opener is probably not meant to be used all the time. Just when a jar is really hard to open or just straight up stucked. Def a 5/5 gadget if it works on really hard stucked jars.
I have one that’s a lot easier to use but takes up more space it’s a sturdy plastic that forms sort of a Y shape with the V part of the Y being a solid piece and the leg of the Y being the handle. Underneath it has a V shaped slot with metal strips that has teeth on each side. You just take your bottle and slide it in the slot until it reaches the right size and then use the handle to twist off the lid. I’ve also seen ones that you mount underneath your cabinet so it takes up waste space.
If I have a brand new jar (never opened) and I can’t get the lid off, I just knock it a few times in the floor and it opens easily. Learned this from my Mom many, many years ago!!! It also works for knocking in the counter but it depends in what your counter is made of - I have Formica from years ago and it doesn’t hurt it at all.
I used to have one of those smart strainers as a kid, I pulled out so many hairs off my head while using it as a knight helmet, I also cut my fingers several times trying to close it, this video unlocked some vivid childhood memories. Thank you.
The egg dispenser is a bit (sorry) eggstra & might be helped by propping up the front a tad. However, eggs should be kept covered to last a bit longer & not absorb smells from other foods. Store the carton on its side, perhaps? Is this really that much of an issue?
Dave, I love your videos! What a great British sense of humour you have! I watch, just for the laugh you give me! I’ve managed for many years with simple kitchen utensils but you give the new ones a fresh twist and me a good laugh. Thank you!
@@Theorigamidude In Europe we do not have to refridgerate our eggs. But in the US, eggs get washed hence the protective layer gets washed off. Our eggs are safe to keep on the counter for up to two weeks.
I have been using the egg dispenser in the fridge for 3 years. Had no problem with the top eggs not rolling down to the bottom tray, like Dave did. Unlevel table?
I love DaveHax. His voice and content are therapeutic for me, and he's shown me several gadgets that I ended up buying for my own family. Thank you for making such amazing videos Dave!
I love how the corn holder attaches for storage and stands with the corn... Then the salt and pepper doesnt rub off! 😉☺️ (First world problems) 🤷🤭 I have that shelf! My mom got it for her spices but didn't care for it... So I used it for my nail polish so they're all visible and organized! 🤭
i actually got that metal jar opener for me and my grandma, it works absolutely splendidly, and is way easier to use on larger lids than those rubber things
THANK YOU. The can opener looks really good. And is available on Australian ebay. I have an electric can opener that stopped working because a tiny thing broke. The rubbery / silicone one doesn't work because it need grip strength. * arthritis hands are weak as well as painful.
This Uni-Corn is actually a Corn Holder so you don't burn your fingers. *proceeds to handle corn straight from the pot with his bare hands* Never Change, Dave :D
That jar opener does look flimsy, and on Amazon ratings were stating that it was flimsy. To open jar lids, I have an adjustable rubber strap wrench that's great. I bought it about 15 years ago, so it's a really good quality. It does the job.
Do you know what's another thing to store eggs? The carton they come in. They literally have the same function as the egg holder without the pushing back/potential rolling off thing.
bros hand got to be burning ain't now way someone just hold a steaming hot corn like a main char🥶💀 bro done hit a "light work no reaction🗿" this is why he's my fav utuber in the entire world😤🤩

US American market. Our eggs are washed during processing which removes the thin natural coating. They then need refrigeration to prevent airborne bacteria from starting bacterial growth on the shell. Sad but true... we must keep our commercial eggs chilled.
If youre going to test jar openers you have to test it on unopened jars because that’s what they are for. Not pre opened jars that the seal has been broken already
The UniCorn Corn Cob Holder may be neat, but they are not worth over $30.00 US for four. Just add a half-inch of height to the front end of the egg holder and the eggs should roll freely.
You could destroy just about any scraper using it the way you did. You should always soak your pans before using a scraper or cleaning them in general. Scrapers are made out of softer material so they don't scratch/ruin your pots and pans.
Personally, I would have given the cleaning tool a 3, it works but I already have other tools that do the jobs that it does as well or better, and I’d have given the drainer/steamer a 4 - an effective, compact 2 in one tool.
The bottle/can opener looks like something made for a lifetime. Reminds me of older german products.

That lid opener is definitely a 5/5 in my book!
I literally thought the same thing.
Same, because I never can open my lids it’s so hard
He didn't try the lid opener on new jars, that's the true test. Sure most of you can open already opened jars
yes
I was surprised by the price. I would have thought a simple strap wrench would be cheaper and accomplish the same thing.
“Pretty cool huh” never gets old

yup
Does for me.

The thing about the egg organizer is if you dont always eat a lot of eggs, you no longer have the carton with the expiration date on it.
Eggs will last at least a month, so I don't worry. Never had a problem. Mind you, I keep my eggs in the fridge!
Do you know what else you can store eggs in? An egg carton that comes with the eggs. This has to be the most pointless gadget on one of these videos. Most of the others do something to varying levels of success. This only adds a few steps to getting eggs from the fridge.
The eggs I buy have the expiration date stamped on the shell
A bit useless since it doesn't even do what it is meant to do. If you have to push it yourself, why bother?
Most eggs have the date on the shell now
"I sat it down to graze" oh that's so cute
That unicorn is hilarious.
I can't help but notice that he didn't eat the end of the corn that's being blocked by the head.

Its probably for those with disbilities. A lot of kitchen gadgets are, but marketed for tables to make it monetarily viable.
I collect model horses. Those can shelves are how we store smaller models and keep them from toppling. 😂

Really small and effective version of the lid openers, pretty cool imo
