Thanks for showing what it's like to just hang out and sit in the cargo area with the seats folded. There's no better place for a rainy day picnic and my kids and I love doing what y'all showed off. Do you think a 6 footer could sit in the cargo area (seats folded) w/o having to bend over / tip their head in the grand highlander?
Jeff and Savannah, If I was handing out the names at Toyota HQ, one of these would be called the Grand Highlander and the other would be the Even Grander Highlander . 😉
I drove a new 2019 RAV4 Hybrid XSE on back country roads at about 45 mph, but I wish I had driven out on the highway to see how well it accelerates and passing other cars and trucks. Now, you can't test drive the new ones, because they are sold before they arrive in the lot in Maryland.
Fully disappointed in the GH. 8 months in 9234 miles. Still no second key. Sensor malfunction with only explanation it is a known issue and the bandage fix is to turn down the light. Radio panel is in constant reboot and the radio is on back order for 2 or more weeks. Stay away from the grand highlander.
Jeff, did you get good acceleration on the highway and in passing cars with your 2021 Venza Limited? I am still on the fence about buying a new 2024 Venza Limited. Also, how many years should it be when I will need a major replacement of parts with a new 2024 Venza Limited?
@@everydayfun9531 showed her the Grand Highlander Hybrid, Sequoia, Rav 4 Prime, & upcoming 4Runner. She loves the 4Runner look so I’ll most likely get her the Platinum, rn she’s in a 18’Tacoma limited so there’s no rush while I wait for inventory.
@@AliSidTex not at all, she daily’s a 18’Tacoma TRD Pro 😂 but she wants something bigger cabin wise. I just showed her the 25’ 4Runners & might get her that instead.
Both great cars I think. That said I don't see the point of having the regular highlander when the grand highlander is almost better in every way. Toyota should've kill off the regular one and just rename the grand highlander as highlander.
@@everydayfun9531 plus i would imagine regular Highlander shoppers might not be as familiar with the Grand yet, but even the average shopper may not be aware. so Toyota might have made the buying purchase trickier, reminds me when Nintendo made the Wii U. alot of parents didn't know there was a new one, ah but even kids to lol. now how you can tell the two apart, is the exterior styling. the Grand Highlander has a more boxy SUV shape, whereas the regular Highlander kind of resembles a minivan from certain angles. they both look good, but when you realize Toyota has two similarly sized vehicles with a 3rd row seat. the main difference for buyers, comes down to space. if the 3rd row is a really a priority, the Grand Highlander is the one to look. the regular Highlander is 28.3 inches in the 3rd row vs 33.2 in the Grand Highlander, so it's not alot, but depends on what you need. i could probably make that 3rd row in the Highlander work for me, but i think both are too big and long to be used as a 2 row. this is where i think Honda has the edge, even Mazda if you wanna throw them in. it's because only has 1 option, the Honda Pilot, and the 3rd row is 32.5 inches, which is not bad. the Grand Highlander is 33.2 inches in the 3rd row, and that's a longer vehicle by 6 inches. so if you don't need a 3rd row, Honda offers a mid size tweener called the Passport. it's 3 inches longer than the CR-V, but it's available with a V6, and it's a two row. Toyota had a mid tweener option called the Venza, and it had a V6. people bought the Highlander originally because they needed a 3rd row, but the 3rd row was always small. so i get why Toyota made this, but they could've easily addressed the Highlander and gave it more room.
1:23 - Oh, goodness, there's an aviary revolution going on with the pooping and the plopping! Should we hang our heads in shame (duck & cover) or fight back with Seafoam and ceramic sealant?!
The new outlook of GH looks better in the first instance but bland in months. Instead the current outlook of Highlander is classy and elegant which lasts longer without aging feeling.
A little bit of black wrap around the mirrors, roof and the frame on top you can make it a little bit sportier like the xse camrys from 19-24, can get blacked out badges for the chrome emblems and Toyota badge in back as well. I’ve seen people put black lettering(or white depending what color they got) on the raised grand Highlander portion too on back, only issue I see is the bumper cover fading, I bought mine for uber XL so I’ll take the extra room any day over the regular Highlander 😂
Thanks Savannah for the collab! Are you picking Highlander or Grand Highlander and why? Thanks for watching and subscribing. Jeff

ToyotaJeff Reviews, Subscribed because your videos always make me smile!
Thank you and that’s so kind of you to say
This is the EXACT review i needed for my tall family. We need to upgrade our car and adults sitting in the second row is important
I'm only here because of Savannah. Sorry. Not Sorry
Glad you’re here!

Great video, getting the Grand Highlander and I might just name her Savannah
Are the front seats exactly the same between the two models?
Jeff what brand shoes are those? They look like dressy athletic shoes? Nice
Good eye they are Skechers. I like them because they have memory foam and still feel plush after 6 months

Highlander's better at this point lmao had no problems with the truck.
Just got mine. Aside from the backborder second keys I'm noth hitting any issues. I guess you lucked out with the very early batch?
Can you get a second row bench in the Limited trim in either of these vehicles?
For Lexus , it’s called TX right ? ( if you wanted grand Highlander but in Lexus trim )

Yes I liked the acceleration it was just fine for me. Lol I dunno I don’t keep my cars longer than 3 years to find out

EXACTLY!!
@Savannah what is she currently driving if it where her money which would she buy .
The Grand Highlander Platinum is the perfect SUV, I’m getting one for my grandmother.
No, not for your grandmother! I wouldn't punish her like that. The vehicle has too many unresolved problems.
Bro get her a highlander hybrid not the grand man.

Toyota should go back to physical buttons for the radio and the scanner.
Those touchscreens are distracting and extremely dangerous.
I like the white exterior paint of the Highlander than the Grand Highlander.
