I had a rescue Sulcata for 3 yrs... I found her in a pet shop here in Northern Wisconsin, living in a small plastic tub.I knew I had to save her and I saved my money for a year until I had enough to buy her. We built a lovely. large enclosure for her and she seemed to be thriving. In the winter she lived in our basement under heatlamp and substrate enclosure. I have raised many different reptiles thru the years including tortoises and turtles. I noticed during her 3rd year with me she seemed to decline some had a stuffy nose. Wisconsin is very humid in the summer and of course very very cold in the winter. Not a good place for reptiles, So with heavy heart, I made arrangements to drive her the 2500 miles to Hemet, California, a desert town, to a young man I found on line who was set up for tortoises and was an aspiring herpatoligist . Im told she is happy and healthy. She was 32 lbs when I got her and was 67 lbs when she was rehomed. Emi is thought of often with love and admiration. Great video!❤
Why I decided on a Hermann's was size . Your sulcata is lovely tho. I vouch re summer being better for any tortoise as they are wild really and can't beat real sunshine. I love her tho she's got personality and loves a butt scratch !
