Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by and watching this video! I am aware these tortoise have pyramiding. The please view the video i posted about this. I received all of these tortoises with pyramiding. It’s a slow process to fix. Thanks again for watching :)

Love the content bro. I have a regular female Sulcata. She is 10 years old and measures 21 inches, had her since she was a hatchling. Watching your videos makes me want to get an albino. Keep up the good work and can’t wait to see more content
That’s awesome man! My buddy has my first tortoise I raised up. She is probabaly about 15 years old now. So awesome! I’ll keep putting out more content. Some big stuff coming in the next couples week. Hopefully will be producing some babies in the next couple years so you can snag one!
I own a Pet rescue here in NC. We get these & Dragons in a lot because buyers dont do their homework before buying. There is a lot of maintenance that goes into caring for a Tortoise esp when they are young. The lighting, special foods, etc.. Ppl get them and then cant take care of them or the tort grows to big for their home so they abandon them. Its sad, theres so many being dumped out or sold.. Ppl post them for sale on Craigslist daily. I wish everyone would do their homework before purchasing. Thank you for rescuing these guys. They are so cute. And their shells are looking alot better since you got them. Thanks for sharing.

Ideally they recommend a bare minimum of 100 sqft per torotises but in reality I would go for around 300-400 sqft per tortoise minimum. My goal is about 500 sqft per adult Sulcata.

Thanks so much! These are actually true pink eyed albinos. The ivory tortoise is essentially a hypo sulcata tortoise. Almost like an albino but with black eyes. Super cool as well!
I really want a HUGE turtle idk why iv always admired big sulcatas and good to know they grow 5 inches in a year 😂 I didn’t want to wait 40 years to get the monster I want
A sulcata definitely grows extremely fast and they are generally very affordable. An Aldabra also gets huge but are much more expensive and get even bigger faster haha!
Just remember to make a plan in the event that anything should happen to you so your giant tort doesnt end up homeless or abandoned. We rescue torts here in NC. Young torts require a lot more care or grow so big that people cant keep them in their home so they abandon them. Always research before buying. They are wonderful pets, very loving once they get to know you
@@TruecrimeWithAlicia I’m from North Carolina actually ever since I first commented this I educated my self more and more and realized that in my current situation a huge sulcata would not be ideal I wouldn’t be able to provide it with a half decent enclosure because my yard isn’t to big I will be buying a new house soon and maybe further down the road I’ll buy or rescue or adopt one but for right now I’ll just admire them from videos and photos because it’d be completely irresponsible to get one now
I am new to having one. Just got ours (named it Kramer) yesterday 4/19/2022. We were told it was the runt and last one left at the pet store in Amarillo Tx. What causes the pyramiding? I want to get Kramer good and healthy he definitely needs to put on weight. Any advise is greatly appreciated.
Congrats!! Definitely make sure to have the correct set up with heat and uvb. Daily soaks in like warm water for a half hour will help a lot. And then just feed a varied diet of greens romaine etc. No kale. Also see if you can get a small bag of mazuri tortoise formula to feed him! Again.. a keep the tortoise in the correct environment. A cold tortoise will get sick and die
If you were addressing it with as much as growth you are reporting, over 2 years they wouldn't be showing that much pyramiding. Your showing that nearly all of thier growth has come under your care yet they have some substantial pyramiding on some.
@@aaronhome27 I recieved these tortoises as 2-3 year olds. They cant go from steep pyramiding to perfect smooth growth. it is a process. The new growth has been significantly smoother. Hello Hector thanks for stopping by! I posted a video on this subject. A majority of these tortoises were purchase with severe pyramiding due to previous owner. They are doing MUCH better than before. Hope you like what you see and will subscribe! Thank you
No that's the first thing I seen, definitely a nutrition deficiency, he should be powdering their food with calcium and Vitamin D supplement powder, I'm pretty sure the pyramiding on their shell is due to lack of calcium or vitamin D either or I can't remember
