I own a Pet rescue here in NC. We get these & Dragons in a lot because buyers dont do their homework before buying. There is a lot of maintenance that goes into caring for a Tortoise esp when they are young. The lighting, special foods, etc.. Ppl get them and then cant take care of them or the tort grows to big for their home so they abandon them. Its sad, theres so many being dumped out or sold.. Ppl post them for sale on Craigslist daily. I wish everyone would do their homework before purchasing. Thank you for rescuing these guys. They are so cute. And their shells are looking alot better since you got them. Thanks for sharing.

Ideally they recommend a bare minimum of 100 sqft per torotises but in reality I would go for around 300-400 sqft per tortoise minimum. My goal is about 500 sqft per adult Sulcata.

Congrats!! Definitely make sure to have the correct set up with heat and uvb. Daily soaks in like warm water for a half hour will help a lot. And then just feed a varied diet of greens romaine etc. No kale. Also see if you can get a small bag of mazuri tortoise formula to feed him! Again.. a keep the tortoise in the correct environment.
