QUICK THING I SHOULD ADD: If running a build like I outlined at the start then make sure to add 'Stabber' in the nervous sytem section as well. It grants +20% crit chance with these weapons. Swap it out for shock-n-awe if you're down on cyberware
sam bram best cyberpunk creator
Iam binging his Videos, such a nice Presentation and really soothing voice + good vibes and realistic approach
Agreed
I like wisefish and layedbackgamers for the their focus on lore too
Tez is only 2nd because he doesn't post as often 😢

Long distance knife throwing with the Zero-G is harder to aim the farther you go but extremely satisfying
Long distance knife throwing was much more satisfying before the major update
With a throwing knife build, it really just comes down to what iconic's playstyle synergy or what knife is most aesthetically pleasing to you, but imo a Tier 5++ plain ol' knife with 2 mod slots is probably the best with its 200% headshot damage.
Totally agree, was surprised seeing it so low on the list. There might be some scenarios where another might be more suitable, such as Nehan with Satori during a boss fight, etc, but for general play, there is no beating the 200% headshot multiplier Legendary++ Knife with a Silencio and a Zero-G attached.
Personally i prefer the punkknife since the +50% headshot doesn't make that big of a difference if you already have a lot of additional headshot/crit dmg in your build. It's just more forgiving if you miss a crit.
@@ForeverZer0Silencio doesn't work when throwing the knife. Only when using melee attacks. Have tested that extensively myself.
@@EskiMosher Very underrated comment totally was wondering about that mod if it works for throwing or not thanks for making it clear it doesn't
I agree with this assessment. The 200% headshot multiplier and ability to take mods makes it the best for stealth kills. The Agaou takes over in straight up fights due to the proc.
It's worth noting how significant the bonus Melee damage is on Nehan when paired with the "Pay It Forward" perk and short recovery time, bringing even more synergy to Nehan/Satori hybrid builds, but also making it far more effective on its own for follow up attacks and finishers. IMO deserving to be a bit higher up on the list
I'm always Stoked when I see a Sam Bram video. Best format, cleanest presentations, and most completely filled in with options and variations from any Cyberpunk creator on here, regardless of the subject.
And of course seeing you ironically comment on vampirism? Priceless.
Stinger used to be so good in earlier patches but now Agaou is a gamechanger. Use it with weakspots and handlewrap and you can get some wicked EMP chain explosions in groups. I found a punknife with anti-grav and silencio could take down a gang so long as you get the chain going.
I originally had the Nehan and Satori but switched to the Byakko. Even then, the return time and power ratio of the Nehan was still very formidable.
I mostly used the Nehan at face range, getting it back instantly during the Sandi activation. Probably not its intended use, but throwing it at mid range was deadly too 😅
but using a sword has the option to thunderclap flash perk/dash to the face or the finisher with the range bonus
I was literally looning for this video about 3 hours before it came out.
That is just awesome ty
d00d! thanks for making this one! im currently on a knife/netrunner playthrough n I've been testing the knives. and now you, a very reliable cp2077 tester source imo, just laid it all out in the table for us. thanks man. your content is tops!
Sam a fact is that I will watch every Video you post because I appreciate the high quality of it. Thank you 🙏
Just got the game a month ago, you're really helping me change up my gameplay and have more fun, thanks!
Thanks, ive been waiting on this!
Ty for the vid once again! Needed for my current build.
been wanting to do a throwing weapon build for a while! Shoutout Sam, the GOAT of cyberpunk content 🐐
I did an all blades build not long ago. My knives were Stinger, Headhunter, and Agaou with Mantis blades for when i had to get up close and personal. It was super fun. I started that playthrough in 1.6 and was super worried the rework would have made it not viable and i was so glad when that turned out not to be the case. The only time I fired a bullet in that playthrough is when the game forced me lol.
yeah, every fkin car chase they just make you pull out the weakest stupidest assface lexington
My go to guy for all cyberpunk relations. Love this game and is my introduction to the lore. Great content bro👍
Wow, literally started a throwing knives build a few days ago. Amazing timing, might learn something from this video
Blue Fang and Headhunter are fantastic for knife/gun combo builds, with the former being great for stealth (since it delays enemies getting alerted), and the latter being a ridiculously good burst damage option, especially with something like Ol' Reliable (one knife/shot combo can chunk 35-40% of Melissa Rory's health on Eldenpunk mode)
Omg yes ! Thank's ! That's the ranked i need ❤❤❤
if you have cyberware and perks that increase your running speed plus sandevestan, you can run directly at a crowd or line of enemies and throw continuously as you run through them because the knives come back to you the instant you are close to the knife. as well, the throwing distance becomes arms length so every shot is a headshot. so i also run in a direction so that as many enemies are lined up in the path so i don't have to change direction much, knocking them down and dead just as i reach each one...
My current build is a blade/handgun/sniper build, but when i started it and up till recently, I used knives as well, and i got a lot of mileage out of the Satori/Nehan duo. That vampirism effect is some nasty stuff, literally saved my life in a fight sometime around level 14. Once I got byakko i switched to headhunter for the increased headshot damage, but lately I hung the knives up for Seraph. Throwing knives are still some of the best fun i've had in this game.
I used the blue fang through pretty much most of my new playthrough for the DLC. And i loved using it purely for the stun in my build, which revolved around stealth mostly. Didn’t really consider using multiple as i used silenced pistols and katana’s for my build which was fun. Very interesting to see your placement on it, and i may play around with the other knives soon, maybe less stealth focused
“Punk knife”
…Ohhhh. This whole time I was wondering “Pun knife? What’s the pun?”
Guess the pun is something we’ll have to take a stab in the dark at.
This only makes sense if you think the K in knife is pronounced.
Which anyone with a brain knows it's not.
Nehan and Satori are a great combo against bosses, always worth keeping in your inventory imo. The vampirism health regen is just plain helpful if you don't spec into body much.
yesss they absolutely make the game playable for ninjas because you only come online for real with the 15 Reflex but rushing it means your hp is crap and body has no 10Perks in the health tree it sucksss. Tbh I only dropped them because of lore, I kept asking myself "ok how the f is V healing from bleedouts?".
i missed the Satori on my current first playthrough XD
lets go! I was hoping for this because i've never really used throwing weapons before. good information before i start my own run with a throwing knife build
my current playthough is knife only and I gotta tell you, So Much Fun.
Agaou is such a satisfying weapon to use. I kept coming back to it before I realised it's one of my favourite weapons!
Excellent ranking, thank you Sam, 👍👍👍
Thank you John! Glad to see you enjoying these
ANOTHER?! Dang dude, you've been a busy beaver lol! I'll probably never do a melee or knife build but I'll still happily watch your ranking. Come to think of it, in 700 something hours I'd wager I have less than 10 non-firearm kills. I guess the gunplay in CP is just so good and satisfying that Ive never felt the urge to try the other stuff
You're a fucking madlad for working this hard to dissect the game.. it's honestly insanely impressive.
Waiting on the smg vid! These videos always make me want to redo my entire build.
I never bothered much with the weapon return time stat as a factor because there's perks that reduce it and if you have 3, you can work around it.
interesting point. yea equip 3 throwing knives.
I just carry 1 and dash into melee range to get it back or perform finsiher.
dash in to get it back, I like that haha@@lv83bloodknight
I just don't miss headshots, so not an issue. B)
Throwing weapons might be my favourite weapons in the whole game. Can't wait to see the list
Great vid!
Tho I like the Scorpion Knife, as you can get extra poison dmg from the Scorpions Sting perc.
If Blue Fang had the return time of the punk knife, it'd be the an awesome weapon!
hey sam, i really enjoy these remakes, and would be curious for blunt weapons list
For someone like me who played the game at launch, and recently came back for PL, these ranking videos are great help to get me up to speed on what gears to chase.
damn you are facing very different games hahaha It is a ton of fun, you wont regret it
Great video. The bald eagle and fang play style has recently become one of my favorite ways to play; seriously nothing more satisfying than instantly destroying an enemy and seeing their leg fly off
How do you even use the weapon becomes when you get it at the end of the game?
@@bhabhutiji1169 console commands mods to insert items probably. People dont use it to cheat but to experience the game in a different way. I had a full playthrough but starting with Erebus :D just to have it talk shit all game
@@joaot8253 I think I need to buy it on PC aswell
@@bhabhutiji1169 oh I see.. buut let me tell you that I myself didnt pay for it...xD I only deleted my cracked version and bought it after loving the game so much I had to pay back the creators
@@joaot8253 I actually play on Ps5, but my I don't want to risk getting some Trojan Virus in my gaming laptop as my dad won't buy me another one as it's very expensive 😂😂😂 so I never pirate any game. And developers work really hard so we should support them
We love you Sam Bram
Love it!
This man will not stop.
This man dropped this video 16 hours early by accident as he set the release date but not time 🤦
@@SamBram It was a fun surprise when the video went live for you then? I don't think anyone would have noticed if you didn't say anything 😎
How does this man put out such quality content so fast...
Babe wake up, new Sam Bran video just dropped
Headhunter followed by stinger with the electric tomahawk in third slot has been my go-to
Solid ranking! I usually go with the claw personally. Agou is awesome, but usually messes up my stealth with the aoe (which is what I use throwing knives for in the first place)
Have to agree, plus there's also all the times I've tried to help out NCPD and forgot I was using a weapon with AOE damage 🤣
Sam should so a challenge ranking. For people who've finished the game in very hard and want to make the game more challenging while keeping it interesting.
good vid, i just used headhunter and blue fang paired with the malstrom smg in the reaper ending and i was getting through it fairly easy but the smg let me down and the game crashed just before smasher which was a bummer, im defs gunn pair them two knives with one of the smgs in your other vid or an assualt rifle for more long range
Very informative! Blunt weapons next?
Currently editing LMGs but Blunt Weapons soon!
Ah yes, the bow build of cyberpunk. Add some stealth to enhance it.
All roads lead to stealth archer.
I think what would’ve made me like phantom liberty more is if there was an ending similar to don’t fear the reaper. Where instead of sneaking in to the stadium with Alex you just blast your way in and talk with Song Bird it could even still lead into you betraying Reed because when you meet with Song you could pick either to help her or bring her in.
There are so many builds and ways to attack, it’s mind boggling. It’s one reason Cyberpunk 2077 rank so high in my opinion. It was by accident I discovered the throwing knife build, but as a netrunner. Without guns, and with full Intelligence stats, I found using the Blue Fang was optimal in many situations.
Another preem video Sam. Your editing style is insane. What software do you use?
Great video. Once again i wish wardrobe functionality extended to weapons for those of us who values certain style. I also wish there was an actual harness for throwing knives.
I love that you covered my favorite build with these. I played a Knife thrower before 2.0 and after and i wanted to give some insights:
I agree with your top pick, agaou is easily the best Iconic in the entire game. In fact i honestly consider it the only real iconic because with a dedicated throwing knife build almost no other iconics gimmick really makes any difference (something which i am really disappointed about). With throwing knives, you one hit kill almost any enemy you will encounter. Any of the gimmicks that increase DoT or do some sort of disable effect on the enemy that you threw your weapon at is kind of useless, because a dead enemy does not need to be poisoned, bled, or crippled. The only iconic that does not do anything like that is Agaou.
I do think you severely overestimate return time as a stat, however. While yes, it sucks to run out of knives/axes mid-fight, it almost never is an issue because of the juggler percs. You can use your sandevistan to dash into the enemy and recover them as they are sticking inside of the enemy aswell. In my opinion the only stats that really matter are raw damage and crit modifier. Thus i consider the normal knife at least top 3.
Hope this information helps.
agreed 100%, after getting a bit used to trowing i never had an issue with trowing knives. It only really matters on bosses and for that i have sandevistan and mantis. Max updated iconics with all the talents already have like 4 seconds return time? And trow itself takes about 0,7 seconds with pulling out next one. You barely have any downtime. I believe only boss i really had issues with was Smasher, but when i'm saying "issues" i mean that i had hard time hitting his head.
You also usually prefer to stay close distance to enemies so you can get finishers out, so you might as well run closer to some enemies to get knife if you're out, and it's extremely easy to land headshots like this, much easier than with firearms honestly
If no one else has mentioned it, there is actually a tomahawk crafting spec. I can't pinpoint exactly where it is, but it's located amongst some scaffolding near where you can find the Achilles Xmod2
When it comes to throwing weapons, I use Agaou for combat, and Claw X-Mod2 for stealth. Because throwing weapons technically count as melee weapons according to the game's code, the Silencio mod works even when you throw a knife/axe modded with it! With that and Pax, it's no surprise that you can potentially do a few thousand damage per headshot. And against tougher targets, just use Optical Camo with the Relic bonuses to get yourself out of combat and regain the stealth damage bonuses.
Great video as always! It's a pity, I had to interrupt the playthrough on the console until the developers fix the finishers ((( Can't play without stylish animations
You can see that bug in the vid also god it’s annoying
So, i've played cyberpunk on very hard with a knife trhowing build the whole way trhough, really, really fun!
Agaou is definitely the coolest one, and my go to, for mobs. The thing you've missed about the headhunter is that when you hit a headshot with its effect active, it will come back to you. So in my set-up, for a hard boss, what i do is Headhunter - Agaou - Headhunter - Blue Fang - Headhunter, and by now you either agaou is back or the enemy is stunnned and you can just dash in and recover everything. The headhunter effect does massive damage, especially if you've been dashing for guaranteed crits. It's really fucking awesome, and i had an absolute blast playing it this way. It took some gerting used to swapping the knives, but it made me feel like a skilled thrower. I love this, and i've never seen a game with such a cool throwing system!
Playing through my phantom liberty for the second time with my old blades build and decided to side with song bird not realising that the Fang knife was unobtainable that way.
Throwing knive builds are still some of the most satisfying play styles
I rarely use a gun in this game as a blade is silent but deadly. However, even on a mission where you need to be undetectable for some reason, they can hear a blade hitting a buddy. Butbuve went through an entire mission using a knife and no guns and the one I am using had a quick return I always go for the head a quick kill. Although there are three iconic knives that I have yet to find.
Are you positive that throwing weapons benefit from the blade tree when used as a melee weapon?
I didn't think that was the case anymore since the 2.0 update.
I thought that was changed along with mono wires no longer benefiting from the blade perks.
I love comboing headhunter with agaou and byakko, the damage with agaou after hitting them with headhunter is insane. Do you think the claw would be better to combo with agaou for overall damage or is the 2x boost more worth it? It is kinda situational where it has to be a headshot
The Nehan / Satori combo playstyle, switching back and forth its just a bit too cumbersome to use consistenly. Its a good throwing knife though.
Throwing weapons in this game are fr some of the most fun I’ve had landing crits in any game ever.
yep. Few things beat the fun of AGOUing an enemy group and watch them explode and fry away in slow motion sandevisFUN
Kerenzikov goes really good with throwing knives
i was cooking w Agaou but it wasn’t good for stealth 😅
really cool electricity build possible if you run it w the iconic electric katana, and iconic electric SMG
Agaou is the Voodoo/West African diety of lightning and the comparisons to Thor are in fact eerily similar.
I’ve been loving the xmod claw agaou. Can’t hardly put them down.
I wish there was a dual wield system in this game for knives and pistols. Imagine how fun it would be air dashing around with 2 smart pistols
I only use the claw xmod 2, I've never done a throw build until phantom liberty.
Guess I will try to get myself a Punknife with useful Mods in it, but so far I continously use Stinger, no other throwing weapon comes close for me. I am especially weary of using weapons in Tandem (Fang/Bald Eagle and Nehan/Satori for example), so One-to-pierce-them-all is what I crave. And Stinger gives that to me.
In addition to that, I find the Zero-G Mod useless. When you're on higher ground (and one should always be if possible), you can use the Gravity effect to throw over the edge in an Arc, and hit your enemies down below. With Zero-G you'd need to have Line-of-Sight to them, which then means they can shoot you as well.
If you are far enough away to be lobbing knives and using the drop-off to make the hit, there is no way that it is taking out enemies in one-hit with stealth due to the damage reduction. Perhaps on easy difficulties. but on Very Hard with late-game equipment and perks, you aren't taking out an elite with a single headshot at that range. I do agree that the Fang/Bald Eagle is gimmicky, but I do really like the Nehan/Satori combo though, might be worth experimenting with, it is pretty fun. It is an extremely effective combo for keeping oneself alive against strong enemies in open-combat.
@@ForeverZer0 Where in my previous post did I mention that I'd one-shot Elites? Regular NPC enemies do die from a one-shot Headshot on Very Hard. And even Elites can have their Vision slapped for a bit if your first hit is a Headshot, giving you ample time to finish them off before they can sound any Alarm. As for keeping myself alive, I tend to use Heal-on-Kill, Bloodpump and so on.
@@KubaxKristallmond You didn't mention one-shot elites. It is safe to assume that any reasonable person using throwing knives for stealth is looking for a single headshot to neutralize. Pretending otherwise under some technicality of your precise words just makes the statement about lobbing knives like you are playing lawn-darts even more silly.
@@ForeverZer0 Your Assumptions aside, it works for me. And that's that.
Seeing how many builds use sandevistans just makes it even more obvious that cyberdecks, chrome compressors and berserks need a major buff
For me I think the best loadout was: Headhunter, XMOD 2 Claw, and either Blue Fang, Agaou, or your favorite shotgun if things turned to crap in the last slot. Then again I only play on hard move as opposed to "very hard" so that makes a huge difference.
I personally use the knife with an anti-grav mod and an armor perforation mod. It oneshot-s everything and it's all I need
Even tho I already play the game for years, my knife build is just a regular knife with no mods that I always throw. Thank God my aim for headshots is good, because I had no ideia it would be in the bottom of the list like that lol
Throwing Knives with full stealth was my first build in PL and i really loved the style. Gave me real ninja vibes.
What i would have loved, would be Kherenzikov working with them, but it unfortunatly doesn‘t. It would work so well with it, espacially, sinve i didnt like a sandavistan with it, since cyberdeck synergized better with the stealth approach for me
I belive it does since most recent patch. Don't take my word for it tho, I've heard it somewhere.
Kherenzikov works now
@@Matt-iq7ci you are right, it works now since Patch 2.1 havent played on that one yet.
I grew to have fun with throwing knives over the standard cyberdeck hack build
Been using a tier 5 punk knife with a zero g mod on it by default
Nobody does cyberpunk videos like Sam Bram!
i really wish they didn’t make almost every iconic variant a combo weapon. i really just wanted a cool punknife
Actually for the melee weapon that’s on top of the club is different for each cause I had a electrifying throwing axe
I think blue fang and headhunter are both pretty on par in terms of uses but I prefer blue fang because stun effect makes combat sometimes funny. Agaou is literally most broken throwing weapon I agree with that.
Did they add another patch to getting Zero G from that vendor?
I’ve skipped a full day about 30 times and her stock never changes.
Dammit Iwas already using the Punkknife, and was hoping I was missing some cool Neon, glowing epic knife, but yeah..guess I already have the best knife lol
It might sound odd, but don't underestimate the Pax mod on these for stealth. At tier 5, it's a straight 20% damage buff outside of combat, and stealth is always "out of combat." A 5++ regular Knife with a Pax mod and the right perks can do *_over 5000 damage_* on a headshot. Even skull level enemies will go down in a single toss, with only the absolute tankiest of tanks able to survive more than one hit (which is why you carry two). Accompany this with Zero G and it becomes trivial to clear out entire complexes with just your knife.
I ran the neurotoxin knife once I was able to get one and I only replaced it with stronger versions of it later on
Does poison from neurotoxin knife stacks with poison from "Scorpion sting" perk? If not, what the point of using those kind of knives?
In combat I throw 3 knives. headhunter first, followed by blue fang them Agou. Devastating!
Goddamn I love you
Regular knife with severance mod. With a Sandi it shreds.
You forgot the knife BUTCHER's CLEAVER
It's in the swords video as functionally it isn't a throwing weapon
hitting heads shot on entire pack of baddies with throwing knives makes me feel some type of way
You said that throwing weapons can still benefit from blade perks when used in melee - do you have any tests that you did to verify this?
I just spent an hour resetting the Jackson plains vendor and never got the zero g mod. Is it level locked? I’m max street cred but only level 38
0:30 Weird note, but throwing weapons like knives and hatchets DON'T scale with Blades, not even their melee attacks.
They're specifically 'Throwing Weapons' so the entire right side of the Reflex tree is pointless for them.
that's a hard yes to the Cyber Thor video pls
What specs did you use if you did use any?
Your so fucking impressive you push out videos faster then a kardashian can push out babies
Is there no more auto targeting trowing knives like before the big updates ? I believe it was a mod
THROWING WEAPONS YAY :D
