So got into spin in college to cross train for swimming over winter break . My coach was like wtf happened cuz I shaved so much time off and lost 10lbs in 2 1/2 weeks I was home . I was told I’d never be able to run to flash forward to 13 years ago when my cousin needed. a swimmer for her charity tri she was doing for her son with duchenne . Then welli started doing it lol . Loved this ride I was trying to get motivated for a run but after a 16 hour shift at the hospital up with my almost 3 year old at 8 and need to leave for work again in an hour this was great workout. Trying to loose 30lbs by October ! To try and have another lol
It's wild!! Spinning is such an underrated exercise that translates to other cardio performances!!!! Oh my gosh, way to muster up the motivation to get active! Getting in the saddle is sometimes the biggest challenge! You crushed it! Hope you get some time to relax in the week! Busy busy!!! Keep crushing it, Amy! 🙌💯

It’s humid in the u.k. and this was waterworks even with a fan on me! 🥵😂Great format splitting climbs/sprints but legs were so tired on that final sprint! Thanks from a non runner 😂😊
I am definitely not a runner but really got into this ride. Rolling climbs and rolling sprints are becoming a staple, and I'm here for it 🙌🏽 sweaty, hot mess express of a ride 🥵(climb/tempo/rest/climb) into Summit Tabata Mini. When you can hear your pusle you know! Another great ride ✅️
Round 23 of 30s challange was up with Cross Train vs The Empire State of mind! I actually like to run and did it also so many years ago but got knee injury so that stopped. I have really ride on the bike for many many years outside but last 6 years on a spin bike and discover you 1 and half year ago. Best discovery in my life without doubt when it comes to fitness. Endurance based rides are the one Im best at so this workout had a chance of a high average watt maybe close to my best which is Pain Train and Onyx on the 30s challange. But a very quick rise in my HR with a peak of 179 max HR. With 220 minus age I was suppose to have 175 so a little higher. 84% of the whole workout was in red zone. I dont think it has ever happen before so working hard for you Kirsten!! I like sprints but last sprints rep. Suck the energy out of me with the deadly rolling sprint as finisher. Well I gave it everything but okay average watt for the challange but not close to PB for 30s. Empire State of mind great follow up ride with nice long rest. Needed when legs was so heavy after Cross Train! Thank you for this amazing workout. I like the format in the workout. Have a nixe day!

Haven’t done a ride since mid-June and got back into the swing of things with this one…I was toast by about the ten minute mark! 🥵. I’m not a runner, but this was a good one!!
ll. Do you have any opinions on if riding out of the saddle has some advantages for runners? I'm a former runner who now rides a stationary bike often. I've found I'm able to generate more power out of the saddle. I feel like being out of the saddle engages my core a bit more, the slower cadence, higher resistance and form of the movement seems to resemble running a bit more as well. This might just be cope on my part and I have been working at improving my output in the saddle but I've never been able to find any good studies or literature on the subject.
Oh that's interesting! The body is definitely better at generating more power out of the saddle. Aside from the extra force from bodyweight, you can hinge more at the hips which engages the posterior muscles more. So being able to build the glutes and hamstrings more effectively would be the main advantage for runners. Also, like you mentioned, the balancing aspect of being out of the saddle and properly maintaining the center of gravity through the movement likely translates to the stride as well... Maybe from a proprioceptive standpoint too. Great comment!!! 🙌🙌🙌
