Stuck in bed with a chronic illness flare-up so this video is just what I needed. Also like you I have dry skin so bonus points for usefulness. Thanks💄❤.
I’m in a flare from UC & Fibromyalgia so this is what I needed, as well. Hope you feel better soon!
I hope you both feel better ASAP!! Glad I could distract you a bit!
Hi Marnie, Thank you for a fabulous video showcasing foundations in all price ranges! The two I’ve never heard of but want to try are the Sharon Uoma foundations and the Wander Beauty. You really gave us a comprehensive look at each foundation you selected. Thanks so much!⭐️☀️🥳❤️
Thanks for great, informative video! Would love to see you applying it
That top is GORGEOUS and right up my alley. Not in my budget right now but thank you so much for providing links to everything.
My new go-to is the LÓreal True Match Nude Tinted Serum. I love how lightweight it is but my skin looks so good.
Very thorough ty for these reviews ...was curious about a few!
Thanks for the airless pump suggestion. You are so right about the mess. I put an old Clinique foundation top on it, and it fit.
Wow! Thank you for all your hard work on this! Amazing! So helpful and informative!!! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love your videos so much! Thank you! I love La Mer as well, it’s pricy but worth it.
Thank you!! I really needed this video. Very helpful.
You are so welcome!
Hi Marnie - I completely agree with you regarding the La Mer foundation. I’m 53 with dry skin and have found this to be a wonderful product.
Thank you for mentioning some affordable brands for us! I have a similar complexion, my go to UA-camr now only does luxury brands, you’re my new favorite 🤩
Thank you! I do enjoy some luxury, but I’ll always love drugstore too!
Amazing video. I will definitely watch this again and try something new! TFS!
I just tried the L’Oréal foundation and I love it. It’s perfect for dry skin.
Hi Marnie, when I was young my complexion was very, very oily. Now at 65 my skin is normal but not dry. I have worn Clinique Superbalanced Makeup for decades. I put a Clinique mineral sunscreen on first. I also really like Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick. Both of these seem to work well on my skin. I enjoyed hearing about all the foundations you spoke of. It's always good to know about different options because companies love to discontinue makeup. Thanks much for posting this video. Have a lovely day and a good week. Xo, Karen
I’m 48 with dry skin and the La Mer soft fluid long wear foundation works the best for me. Once I discovered this foundation I quit trying others. It’s the only foundation in my makeup collection.
You highlighted a few foundations that I want to try. Thanks! I get the most compliments about my skin when I wear The Ordinary Serum foundation. It is the least expensive foundation in my drawer, but it works well for me.
Another favorite video. Sending hugs prayers and kindness with lots of smiles.❤️🙏🏼👍🏼
This is so helpful but I was wondering had you ever done a video on color matching foundation. I just can't seem to get it right and I really trust your skill and opinion on this. 💐
I have never attempted it because as you can see, I'm not that great at it myself.
I love the L’Oréal age perfect! So good
Hi Marnie..This is such a well done video! I love the pacing of your videos...you keep it moving and don't go off in tangents, you hit all the relevant points for all the foundations. I love the Face Atliier (sp) for my 58 yr old super dry skin. My holy grail foundation is Missha BB Cream in 21. I also love Estee Lauder Double wear in Ecru and Maybelline Fit Me Dewy in 120. Thanks for the awesome video!!
I picked up the Loreal Hyaluronic Tinted Serum and I tried it tonight. Love it! Thanks for the recommendation!
It's so good!
Finally someone with my EXACT skin type! New sub too! ❤️😍❤️🥰🌈🌈
YAY!! So glad you found me!
Thank you for this helpful video.
Thank you!!! 🙏So helpful for us dry skin girls!
Ps: you look amazing! I guessed you were about 35-Ish
Thanks Marnie! I have a lot of the drug store ones that you mentioned. The 3 mid price ones I use on my dry skin are the IT cosmetics cc cream and the It Cosmetics foundation plus the Lancôme Regenerie. Looking forward to hearing what you think of the new Charlotte Tilbury foundation. Love your blouse! Hope your trip went well! Have a great day!
You look so pretty in that pink blouse, love the pink headband! I bought many of these foundations per your recommendation. I have combo- oily skin ( depending on the time of the year) and love the Loreal age perfect, I use it with a good primer underneath. I would love for you to try the Bourgois healthy mix foundation, I love the finish of it. Also, Estee Lauder Futurist hydra rescue. Foundation is my no.1 makeup product to buy and have a huge collection for an avg person. But I want to get the ones I don't have from this list. Thanks for this video!
Oh I used to LOVE the Bourjois Healthy Mix! I did several videos on that one back in the day! I stopped using it because it was so hard to find back then. I had to get it from the UK!
same skin & coverage preference, I love Tom Ford! glorious!!!
The foundation you're wearing is so beautiful and the shade is perfect for you. You're skin looks airbrushed.
xo~linda
I've been wearing the FACE Atelier Ultra in the shade Honey for about 3 weeks, I'm absolutely obsessed! This is quickly replacing my EL Double Wear...never thought I would say that.
It is SO good!
thanks for this informative one..I've been using both loreal foudnations/serum..really works well for me
Wonderful!
Very helpful video. Even though I do not wear foundation (I only really need skin care and spf), but I am obsessed with watching foundation videos lol
Hi Marnie! You should really try the Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Foundation! It's absolutely beautiful on my dry, mature skin and is definitely my favorite.
I’ve heard great things about that one!
Thanks for the recommendations! I'm 50, have dry skin, and some of my faves are Sheseido Synchro Skin Glow (being discontinued! Nooooo! This one is the best!), Lancome Regenerie Lift, Makeup Forever Reboot, and Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. Thanks for the drugstore options - will have to give these a try.
I love that Shiseido and heard they were discontinuing it. Darn it!
Hi Marnie! Thanks for the informative video! I have combo skin and finally caved in on the Dior Backstage Face and Body. It's really gorgeous for medium coverage and wears so well. I'm tempted by the new Charlotte Tilbury and Chantecaille foundations; lots of glowing reviews from under 50 y.o. influencers... I'm really liking the Stila Stay All Day 10-in-1 Illuminating Skin Veil (for light/light med) coverage - the consistency is unique in that while we SHOULDN'T depend on foundation for your SPF, the Stila product (SPF 30) really spreads and doesn't look super heavy. For medium coverage I still LOVE It Cosmetics Skincare + Foundation and the Sephora Best Skin Ever foundations. Flawless on my over 50 skin.
Anne, always always use a separate SPF!!
So many great foundations , thank you for this . For my dry skin I also like Ester Lauder futuristic and Clinique Even Better Glow . I still haven’t tried Flower Beauty but I will give it a go .
Those are good too!
Trying to find the one other for my La Mer, very helpful video. I just wanted to post a comment about the color selection with La Mer because I am sure some of the paler folks are listening to your shade and thinking crap they won't have my shade. I am quite pale and the shade 160 is great. Most people here know to ignore the numbers and go with the undertone but 160 is higher up and am sure a lot of the paler (warmer pale) gals might miss it. So yeah because La Mer is so expensive their shade range is great but don't follow the numbers too closely.
Love your video as always. Marnie. Face Atelier and La Mer foundations have been in my foundation rotation for awhile and they are wonderful on my 68 year old skin. Even though La Mer is pricey, I don't use it every day and purchase backup bottles during Sephora sales and using Nordstrom notes. I may attempt one of the drug store recommendations you reviewed, but even though I am not a drug store foundation snob, I have never found one that works for me either with color, texture, or they break me out That La Prairie looks wonderful and I would try it if I were still working, but will stick with La Mer unless I win the lottery.
Honestly the La Mer is better than the La Prairie. I'm glad I got it because I was so curious, but I'm not going to repurchase it.
@@MsGoldgirl that is great to know that you like the La Mer better. Now that I'm retired and living on savings and SS, I want to be even more cautious with my funds but still use what I love. I purchased several bottles before the price went up but hoping they stay fresh until I can use them. I may have to get a part-time job at Nordstrom -- or start a YT channel too! LOL
This video is exactly what I needed. I am 59 years old and like you I have dry skin and need a new foundation. I am hopeless with makeup ( unlike you - who is great with makeup 💄 ) thank you so much ❤️😘
You got this! Don't be so hard on yourself!
Turning 49 this year as well!
My go to foundations are Estee Lauder DW, and futurist, Lancome Teint Idole, Maybelline fit me, Dior backstage. I work 14 hour shifts so it needs to stay put.
Although the last 2 years I only use my Paulas Choice sunscreen and mascara. So my days off its a treat to apply makeup😊
Love it!!
I agree with everything you said about the L’Oreal tinted serum. That eye dropper is a complete disaster. The first time I used it, it dripped off the side onto a white blouse never to be removed. The product is beautiful, so thank you for the link to the airless pump. I will be getting that as soon I finish this comment.
Those airless pumps come in handy for so many things!
Hi Marnie, your Godinger glasses are also at Macy's for a great price point. Love these complexion videos as we have the same skin tone/undertone. Very helpful.
Ooh! I forgot about Macy's!!
thanks for vid pretty lady.be safe
My skin is pretty oily for my age but I do have the L’Oreal Ageless and the only time that I noticed it sliding off my face was in summer and when I was wearing a mask. I wore it the other night and had no problem. I do think I have a shade that’s too light so if I purchased it again, I would get a darker shade.
If you try the Lisa Eldridge foundation I’d love to hear your thoughts. I love it not so much for everyday…it is a satin finish. I need to grab the L’Oreal Age Perfect one…I think they just came out with a balm type in this line too!
I have not heard very good reviews on the Lisa E foundation, especially for dry skin.
Very helpful. I tried the La Mer. It is indeed beautiful BUT the fragrance was just too much for me. It was there all day. I ended up returning it to Nordstrom - thankful for their great return policy!!
I tried it, and it’s fine, but really, I can get the same results at a much more acceptable price point.
Bourjouis healthy mix serum foundation is my gold standard. I always run back to it.
Where do you get it?
@@MsGoldgirl Amazon or France if you visit!
Love that you cover options across all price ranges-- but would have liked to see more luxury options that aren't $135++. I currently use Chanel Velvet le teinte matte foundation and need to move to a more natural or satin finish with medium coverage. I am working from home so don't want to indulge in the super high end (though the Prairie Caviar is *gorgeous*). Chanel gives me the best color match so i guess I'll just try a few.
I can't do Chanel-their foundations break me out. I do need to explore Dior, YSL more. Armani Luminous Finish was another gorgeous foundation that ultimately broke me out.
It Cosmetics Better Skin ? I found it this year. Loved it too !!!!!
That's good too-it just didn't make my top 10.
What skincare do you use
Hi Marnie- your last video reminded me of my favorite foundation ever, Lancome Tient Miracle. I tried to find it to repurchase but seems my shade is not available anywhere and Lancome has discontinued it! Since you have a rlationship with the company, do you shave any insider info on a replacement? It was so beautiful and made my skin (and yours) look amazing.
My relationship is VERY limited and done through an agency of sorts, so I know about as much as you do! I loved that foundation too!!
What video did she do reminded you of Lancome Teint Miracle foundation?
Great video! I’m 54 with dry skin with some redness. Which mid range foundation would you recommend?
All of the ones in this video!
I don’t think I will ever not use La Mer. I’m 45 and besides a tinted spf, this foundation is the only one I’ll use. I don’t wear it every day, so it lasts for me. Agreed unless you’re over 40, you won’t appreciate it. Great video Marnie, thank you! You are gorgeous in light pink!
It really is that good! I'm getting low on mine and starting to get anxiety-time to order a new bottle! I started mixing mine with a few drops of the La Mer face oil and OMG it's incredible that way!
@@MsGoldgirl Ooo, sounds heavenly! The Sephora sale is coming, maybe pick up a new bottle then.
Have you tried the new YSL or NARS serum foundations? I’m hearing good things but haven’t seen someone with mature skin review them. Thx!
Not yet...but I'm very intrigued by the NARS one!
Just found you!💖 which sheer out the best?
Hi Jackie! Since that's not a feature I'm looking for in a foundation, I can't say that I would have an answer to that!
Hi! Great video! Do you have a favorite sunscreen to wear under foundation with no spf?
Yes I do! Several! Love the EltaMD sunscreens, Skinceutical sunscreens and the Colleen Rothschild sunscreen. I just got a supergoop one but I haven't tried it yet.
@@MsGoldgirl thanks! Elta MD is on my list. It seems a lot with dry skin like it.
I have normal skin -- always have. But, foundations that are good for dry skin would probably work better for normal skin than foundations that are best for oily skin.
xo~linda
I totally agree!
Can you review the new Chanel 1 foundation? Would love to hear your opinion.
I can't because Chanel puts some kind of fragrance in their foundations that breaks out my skin.
@@MsGoldgirl oh, too bad. Thx anyway Marnie!
Thank you for the video. I do have a question. I am 65, very dry skin with lots of wrinkles/textured skin. What do you recommend for wrinkled/ textured skin?
Any of the lighter weight foundations-just don't pile it on. Maybe the L'Oreal True Match Nude Serum or the La Mer.
@@MsGoldgirl Thank you. I really appreciate you answering me back. 😀
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I usually wear the 1st one, L'oreal in ivory. Anymore I really need something more hydrating that can be medium to full coverage. Without going to the LaMer what would you suggest? I have a lot of texture and a dry forehead, mostly normal skin though.
Try the Too Faced Born This Way foundation.
@@MsGoldgirl Thanks!
$135 for light/medium?? for that price i need it to last 2 solid days and be able to sleep in it LOL
Don't knock it until you try it!
Appreciate this Marnie. I’m searching for a replacement for Charlotte T Light Wonder. It’s completely disappeared from Sephora in Canada 🇨🇦. I don’t like the sound of her new one.
I feel like i just read somewhere about a dupe for that...now it's going to drive me crazy. Try Googling "dupes for Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder" and see what pops up.
@@MsGoldgirl appreciate it!
Can you recommend a foundation that us similar to Estee Lauder Double wear light? This was my favorite, it has been discontinued 🥺
I never used the Light version so I have nothing to compare it to.
@Cheryl Kiser thanks! I will do that.
You mentioned having your face layered do you use something or go to your dermatologist? You have beautiful skin.
I really love the IT cosmetics your skin but better but wasn’t a fan of the cc cream!
You are not mature skin in my books - you still have gorgeous line free skin
Well it's there-at this point it's 49 year old skin!
Never mix anything with your SPF. You will cahnge the formulation and products with oil and/or water can dilute and breakdown the formulated SPF.
I dont like the Charlotte Tulbury. I gave both of mine away. I purchased it then I got it in Ipsy. Its super thick. I have dry dry skin. It makes me look 10 yrs older by the time I get off work.
You’re so lucky you can swatch on the inside of your arm n be done… I have 20 different colors of skin 🤣 I’m fair on my inner arm, tan on my forearm, light on my neck, 😆 I never know what shade to go w 😆
@bkbeauty “For foundation I use the Best brush available, the BK Beauty Brush!
