Brno! I’m Hungarian from Slovakia, but during Communist Czechoslovak times my grandad studied at University in Brno during the 60s, to this day he talks about how it’s a great and pretty city; with even better beer (he says he can’t remember half of his studies for that reason 😅) Love to see it on the channel 👍🏼
Talking about Hungarians I recently visited Budapest (for the fifth time). I have to tell, your capital is my favorite city in Europe! (I love Prague too, but Budapest's vibes is closer to me) Every time I there something amaze me. The food is superior, the cultural life sparkling, nice people, interesting badass history, alien language. But you have to know the city, or you have to get a Hungarian friend to fully enjoy that city because the lots of hidden gems. I was lucky because my brother studied there. I hope Honest Guide will make a vlog about it soon.
I studied in late 90's next To Low and High Tatras and can't remember half of my studies for same reason :D To be a student is super. Even if you are in fact unemployed alcoholics, parents are proud of you.
During my travel to Czech Republic, i went to Brno and i liked it very much! It is a great place to discover Czech's culture, food, people... but without the crowd and tourist traps that are present in Prague.
That is not true. Šalina is rarely called šála or šmirgl. Drak - dragon is name for the latest local type of šalina. The same as at the begining of the video.
I spent 10 days in Czechia 3 in Prague and 7 in Brno. Brno became my favorite city in Czechia from the moment I came in to visit. The bar that doesn't exist will forever be one of my favorites.
Brno has a very special place in my heart. I did my Erasmus there, stayed in the city for 5 months. So many unforgettable experiences, so many friendships made. And when I returned to the city for a visit almost two years after everything still felt like home. I wish I had a guide like that when I was there though!
omg i needed so bad to read this! I was thinking about doing my Erasmus in brno but I didnt know anyone that had done it there, but I have this gut feeling I should go and this comment made my mind up thank you!!!
I've visited Brno in September 2020, next to Teplice and other sights Czech Republic has to offer. Brno was so much more relaxed compared to Prague (which I've visited pre- and during the pandamic). Excellent public transport and just a clean and beautiful city. Some plan to do a '2nd cities tour' and I highly recommend Brno to be on that list! Good prices, ambience, nice people and hospitality! Ps. Don't flood Brno with tourists, it's really nice and quiet compared to Prague, because it's the 2nd city 😜
It is still a difficult profession but most people here appreciate a good server. It's still not a desired career for most people but there's always demand and it pays much better than it used to.
Why is it nice? You are literally serving people for your job, its pretty low social status, i mean its not a janitor but its still not something to be proud of.
I learned a really valuable lesson during my almost 44 years of life: that the first and most important thing you should think about when considering your next destination is the name of the place. And Brno certainly is a great name, so I would love to visit this city. I actually didn't watch your video and I'll not watch it. The name is so marvelous that I'm sure that I'll enjoy a lot there! ❤
I spent my first Erasmus exchange in Brno in 2013. I truly fell in love with the city and people, visited several villages around the city too. I then visited the city in 2018 when already on my work trip in Vienna. It felt like going back home when getting off the train at Hlavni Nadrazi! Grateful for all the memories and good times I had there. Thank you for the video!
Thanks to your previous video about Brno, I decided to visit for a long weekend and I did not regret it. It's a beautiful and lovely city and well worth a visit. My personal highlight was Villa Tugendhat, a modernist style architectural masterpiece by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
You should expand your coverage of Czechia. from Pec pod snezkou to Lipno nad Vltavou, Plzen to Ostrava. Czech is beautiful and driving around is a bless.
You are completely right. It's one of my favorite countries to go on holiday. I have been to all the places you mentioned and each and every one of them is unique and different from the other. Beautiful country, lovely culture and tasteful cuisine. And of course nice hospitable people.
Been in Brno several times. Really recommend the small coffee/tea/beer place right at the top, in front of castle's bridge/entrance. Very cozy and honest place, cheap/moderate prices
You forgot to mention that it was in Brno that Gregor Mendel did his work that demonstrated the basics of what we now know as Mendelian Genetics, with his experiments on crossing pea plants in the monastery garden there. One can visit an interesting museum there. As a former professor of biology I took a bus from Vienna to Brno just to be at this historic place! Also, well worth the ride through the countryside between these two cities!
My partner is Moravian, from Brno:) I’m from Hungary, and visited Brno several times before moving here. I always preferred large cities until I came here for the first time. now I feel like home in Brno and want to continue living here. It’s perfect❤
Yes Tony i absolutly agree, dont forget the vine. Morava Vine is the best in CZ. Starobrno is very good and better than Prague Staropramen for me. There are lot of very good beers in CZ, but only a few of real good vines. Beside: My favourite Beer of CZ and also the No. 1 in Czech... Pilsener Urquell.

We're heading back to Brno this weekend to attend the Janacek Music Festival there. A few things you've missed: the Brno Dragon, the Tech Museum, the naked Mozart statue (and the other statues) and the ossuary.
I got the job offer in Prague, I have interview today, hopefully everything will go well and I will move in Prague ♥
Brněnská přehrada with all of it's public swimming places and incredible path to walk / hike all the way to the Veveří castle. Also you can go back from castle to přehrada on a river boat.
I stranded in Brno 2020's first week in the middle of the night I was freezing to death. And I remember to teens really wasted came to me! They were nice and I'd always wanted to go back, I wish I had more time to go back and walk the city.
I used to live there, the open garden was my favourite place, very glad you went there ❤️
I return to Brno for 4th time in October. I love it!
I lived in Brno during my Erasmus and enjoyed the city !
I'll be studying in Brno in September 2022!! I'm so excited to see these places.
how was it ?
I visited Brno yesterday is indeed the better version of Prague. As a person living a rural area of Greece i just loved it very quiet without the cars and people so friendly.

I did visit Brno on your recommendation. So i did a stopover from Prague to Bratislava. And my friends were wondering why BRNO?? I said it's Honest guide approved ♥️.
Fingers crossed Brno never loses the weird vibes! :D
Seconded.
Cool, I would love to go to Brno next time I'm in Czech Republic! It is also the native city of several great scientists and artists...
For other videos, you really should introduce other cities too. I was in Olomouc this summer, what a lovely place! Beautiful monuments and streets, big parks, many coffehouses and bars... A very pleasant stay.
Hi Honza! You forgot to show the main point of Brno, the horse statue.
This statue has it's own secret and you will find out it only standing under it, so guys do not forget to see it, you will be impressed. :D
